They wanted me to pay for my pedicure and give the tip before even having the service. Since when do you pay for the service before having it ? Never in my life. Their reasoning is that "it's a high end service". I'm sorry but never in my life even for a tattoo which is thousands, you don't pay prior.

I thought it would be a better time for me and initially agreed; however, one of my friends reminded me I already had plans with him that night. And so I let Lucy know I couldn't make the time she needed me to be there. I tried to reschedule for Sunday and Monday. She couldn't accommodate me. I was going away on Wednesday, January 31st, for a week-long trip for an organization I volunteer with, and I let her know. She said I may schedule a new appointment with her when I get back, or I may cancel my time with my friend and go to the salon for her rescheduled 6 pm time. I didn't want to let my friend feel like I didn't care, so I told Lucy I would reschedule when I got back from my trip. I couldn't reschedule an appointment with her immediately upon arrival from the trip because I am a student and spent a week volunteering. I needed to catch up on my work, and I already told her I would be away. I thought that since she knew I would be away, she would be expecting me to reschedule an appointment with her in the upcoming weeks. I had another week-long trip in February, volunteering with the same organization. On Tuesday, February 26th, when I got back, I asked Lucy if I could come in for an appointment on Saturday. She didn't respond. On Friday, March 1st, I followed up and asked for my appointment. She first said she could do it but then said she couldn't because she was moving. So she couldn't couldn't accommodate me. So, I was never able to get my appointment with her, and it was not clear whether I would ever get an appointment with her. I asked for my deposit back because our schedules seemed like they would never align. And I asked for my deposit back because why not ask? I am a student, and because of that, money is important. And it's not like I didn't try to book an appointment with her before doing so. She's human and a business person; she can and did say no. But I am also human and allowed to not be OK with it, especially because I kept asking for a new appointment; she was aware of my circumstances, and she was the reason why my appointment needed to change initially. She was just nasty. You must need the money. It was January, and now it's March. And I was like, yeah, I do need the money or my hair done. I am a student. But acknowledge it was the very end of January when I asked and it was the very end of February when I followed up. She ignored me until the very first day of March. It's not like this was from January 1st to March 31st, which would be completely unreasonable. And I get that. And again, she knew I was going away. But it is what it is. Writing the entire story to give everyone a full picture because you could very well agree with her, and I don't want to tarnish her business if you do agree with her. But for me, I didn't like what happened. Especially because I was transparent with her.
