What I mean by that is, it does not look like a Mexican restaurant. But it EXCELS at Mexican cuisine. I highly recommend ordering anything you'd see at a Mexican restaurant. The drinks: The Blueberry Fields drink was good but pricey given the size and wasn't "blueberry" enough for my husband. I liked it, but I'd want it by the mason jar, and that would be super expensive. I had the hibiscus margarita and it was *very* enjoyable. The food: My husband had the Des Moines Po' Boy. I wish he would have realized that he was basically getting a sub. He liked the soft bread. Overall though, he wasn't impressed. He said it was kind of bland. But he loved the fries and ranch. I had the puerco en salsa verde--this dish is incredible! Really tender chunks of pork in a rich tomatillo salsa verde with beans and rice. The only thing that could be better is if there were 3 fresh corn tortillas instead of 2. There is so much rich, delicious, saucy pork to eat, that you need 3 to enjoy it all. The tortillas are fresh made too. So yummy! In summary: Go here and enjoy all the Mexican dishes!

My friends and I came in for a drink to end our evening and found this place to be a little quirky but very homey. We sat in the area with the couch, loveseat and chairs. There is other seating available with high stools and tables. We had three people check in us during our visit so we were well cared for. We didn't order food as we had already eaten. It's drink menu has about 50 martinis listed. This place has a laidback feel to it, very enjoyable. The martinis come out just slow enough to notice but not overly slow. Enjoyed our experience, we will return.

There were 2 servers and 2 bartenders for 40 tables. Very slow on everything. 2. Food was good but pricey for the amount you receive. Don't go here unless you have a couple hours to kill and/or you aren't hungry. There are much better places to eat for the value. That being said it's a cool venue with a good martini selection and full bar.

Plenty of seating on padded benches, tables and at the bar. Comfortable place, feels sleek and hip. I'd love to see a fireplace in it for some reason. The drink menu is extensive. Wine and beer along with most any martini flavor you could come up with. Seriously, if you can't find a martini or three that you like here, you shouldn't be going out. The food menu is flatbreads and finger foods, perfect for a place to come before a dinner elsewhere. The staff have always been friendly and helpful with suggestions or questions.

When you visit you will love all the original furnishings, the newspaper articles and so many nostalgic pictures. This place has survived many up and downs with the most recent being the pandemic and having a hard time finding employees ( as in every industry right now). If you are looking for a uniques cozy atmosphere with an owner for over 39 years, look no further. Also when the owner (Jeff) isn't busy ask him to see his pictures of his original establishment when it first opened. We highly recommend Little Bos for everyone!!!
