I came from out of town and one of the things on my list was to solve my shoe wear issues. I checked out the internet and since these guys were near where I was staying I headed there . I did not have high hopes as the brands they carried are similar to every other store I have been to. When I entered the store there were more sales reps than shoppers in the store and they were very welcoming without being pushy. The young woman that assisted me was the most considerate of reps and she knew her shoes. She measured my feet, asked a bunch of question, listened to my answers and said I'll go get some for you to try on. It was an interesting experience. She actually knew that shoes don't all fit the same from one supplier to the next and she knew that it might take several trips to the back for more shoes before she satisfied my slightly odd requirements. Their range is very good, but the customer service was atrocious today. I walked into the Birkenstock side with my husband who was looking a certain pair of sandals from the other side of the shop. I stayed in Birkenstock side for about 5 minutes - only person in there with 2 staff members behind the counter chatting to each other. Not once did they acknowledge me being in the store, not even to say hello. I walked into the other side to see how my husband was doing and he hadn't been served either. The lady who was in there was serving someone. She had to go and get one of the chatty girls to help my husband. One came in and went to get his sandals but they didn't have his size, did offer to get him a size that was like 2 sizes larger and one that was smaller...??!?! Service has definitely gone down hill since my first visit a couple of years ago. I walked into Broadway Shoe Salon today 3.9.17 and was greeted within 21 seconds, walked out 5 minutes later with my pair of Birkenstocks. Much better service. read more

Drove in from south delta in search of running shoes to accommodate my new orthotics which were prescribed for plantar fasciitis. All the free parking was taken although there were very few customers in the store. The staff did not look at my foot or measure me. They did not ask me about my foot issues or my activities. I chose some shoes and told them my size. They brought the shoes then walked away as I was trying them on. One of the pairs I asked for wasn't even laced. The salesman noted that and said "I don't know why they do that" then left me to install the laces myself. No product knowledge, no customer service. Stark contrast to the New Balance store in north delta. Although I wasn't able to find a shoe there the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Great customer service. Would not bother shopping at The Right Shoe again. read more

It's companies like these that remind me why it's good to buy from a small company that cares about customer service. I'm currently learning how to run as I got an event I'm training for so new shoes are a must. I came here looking for advice on runners and The Right Shoe didn't disappoint. The guy that helped me measured my foot up and watched me walk around to get an idea how my feet were working. From there he recommended 3 different pairs of shoes and with that we ended up trying on 7 different pairs until I narrowed it down to the one pair I have with me today. It took a good 30 min for the entire process but the guy was very helpful with my questions. I did my first run with them and it's amazing the difference, knee pain - gone! This place customer serviced the hell out of me this past weekend. Not just one, but TWO separate lovely human beings knew exactly what it meant to be awesome. I brought my out of town dad here on a comfortable shoe finding mission. He had a laundry list of "features" he was looking for and an even longer laundry list of things he didn't like. Kate was our first victim and she was crazy helpful and patient. We left with a pair of shoes, only to bring them back two days later as they just weren't right. The refund was easy and then we took Wilson as our next victim. He was also crazy helpful and even more patient. My dad left with another pair of shoes..... and I haven't heard a negative peep about them since. I wanted to hug both of these people in the end. THANK YOU! This store carries a wide selection of supportive and comfortable shoes.... birks, keens, rockports, runners, naot, and so on and so on. If your feet do weird things or you want to prevent them from doing weird things..... stop shopping at Aldo already. The name of this store isn't just catchy, it's a fact people. Sure, you're going to pay more than $60 for a pair of shoes here. But your feet do a lot for you so stop complaining about the cash and treat them right. Outstanding customer service. I have difficult to fit feet. I bought a pair of Saucany runners, but after trying them on a treadmill a couple of times my toes seemed to be going numb. I thought I would get used to them because they seemed so soft and well padded. I used to wear Nike Pegasus until Nike ruined that shoe. I ended up ordering an older version of the Pegasus on EBay. Unfortunately I missed the deadline for returning the Saucany shoes to Right Shoe. But it was no problem. Sarah the manager gave me outstanding, empathetic service, recognized my dilemma, tried to help me find an alternative shoe, and made an exception since I was only a few days over and had kept the shoes immaculate. Even though I could not find the right shoe this time, it was an issue with shoe manufacturers and their ridiculous neon narrow toed monstrosities...not the store. I would recommend this store and I will try again to shop here if running shoe designers regain their sanity. Thanks for making me feel valued! read more

I had such a positive experience today I wanted to write about it here first since the other reviews were all from 2010. I went to The Right Shoe Company because of their wide selection for my poor, tired feet. I'm in my late 20s and managed to inherit my mother's bunions, so I was looking for relief. I was helped by the sweetest sales associates who showed me a few pairs of shoes before I made my choice. Everyone in the store was kind and I walked out with a lovely new pair of clogs that make my feet feel like I'm walking on clouds. I'll definitely be back! read more

I'm writing this review as an online customer, but I'm so pleased with my order, I had to hop on here to give three cheers for this Vancouver company. I visit Vancouver regularly, but haven't had a chance to visit this shop. Now that I've been working from home for almost a year, I decided I needed shoes with some good arch support that I could slip on and off easily. I love my Birkenstock sandals so I decided to try and find some shoes that would keep my feet warm over the winter. After many weeks of online searching, I found the Right Shoe. They have a really impressive variety of Birkenstocks, and excellent stock of sizes, which is something I found nowhere else. A number of the styles also let you specify width, which is important for how they fit. Free Canada-wide shipping is offered on purchases over $100, and when I placed my order on a Friday afternoon, they were delivered by Wednesday, in perfect condition. I went here this week based on a referral from a coworker. The store is bright, clean and well stocked. Danna helped me and was so friendly. I told her that I needed a new pair of runners. She gave me some very good recommendations for what to look for. I also received the whole "Cinderella" treatment as we tried different styles until we found the right kind of fit, then variations on the style and then the available colours. I had been looking for plain black flats that I could wear while walking 30 mins to and from the office that would also be comfortable enough to wear during the workday. I had wanted a good looking pair of Merrells, but couldn't find many shops in Vancouver selling this brand. I gave The Right Shoe Company a shot and while they didn't have exactly what I was looking for, there was a pair of Keens "on sale" (still $100 after taxes) that were a good fit and should serve my purposes. The salesman was nice enough and not pushy. I'll probably be a return customer. read more

This store used to be much better. I hate when customer service goes down the drain. The last 2 times I went in there, nobody even greeted me, let alone ask to help. I had request them to help me. This last time, the 3 Asian fellows working there just ignored, I saw one other woman in there & I didn't hear them offer to help her either, just kept talking while I wandered around for about 15 minutes. This time however, I just left & went to Gravity Pope. Maybe there's a high turnover rate & the customer service has taken a dive bomb. Used to be my go to place, but I'm not sure anymore. I feel like I should write two reviews. A year ago, I went in on a rare quiet afternoon without kids and spent a bit of time trying on and learning about Birkenstocks. Having never had a pair or thought that they would fit my long, flat feet, I needed some advice. I loved the pair I ended up buying and was very pleased with the service and advice I received. Fast forward to almost a year later and these same shoes, for some reason, are defective. The metal buckles have rusted and anyone I've asked assures me this is not normal for Birkenstocks. People wear them for years! So back to the store I go. Initially, get the same service I got last year: polite, friendly and agreeable--this is not normal. Something is wrong with these shoes. But then........I am told Birkenstock is not good at replacing shoes etc., they would have to send them in, but I'll probably get nothing. No one wanted to be accountable. I didn't order directly from Birkenstock because I wanted the personal service of the Right Shoe. There seemed to be no one there who actually had the authority to do something for me. In this case, the shoes needed to be replaced. It's not really my problem if the store will be reimbursed by Birkenstock or not, they sold me the shoes and they should stand behind them, especially when it is such an unusual case. There were phone calls made to the owner etc., and offers to call Birkenstock during office hours, but no real action until.... ...a young manager did finally step forward and offer to replace the shoes, but not until after she insinuated that I was somehow to blame and that it must have been the environment where I kept the shoes (my classroom and my shoe closet to be exact), and that if this was to happen again they won't be replaced. I am relieved to have my shoes replaced, but it wasn't a happy experience. For the volume of expensive shoes they sell there, they need to stand behind their products more completely. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I stopped by here on the weekend because it was highly recommended to me by my Physiotherapist, as an excellent place to buy new running shoes. I'll preface this with saying I'm an avid runner/racer with a lot of lower leg issues, so it's difficult finding proper shoes that accommodate everything. I was a bit worried going in on the weekend as I was expecting it to be very busy, but I was pleasantly surprised. They had 4 staff working and immediately someone came over while I was helplessly inspecting the wall of running shoes. She probably spent over 5 minutes asking me about my issues, running history, shoe history, problem areas, and watched me walk/run with shoes on and barefoot to understand my gait (extreme over pro-nation). Immediately she came up with 3 suggestions and the fun began. The staff is so patient here, she watched me walk and run back and forth in every shoe and asked me for feel to decide on the best fit. In the end it came down to two, and she suggested I go for a quick run around the block to really get a feel. In addition she showed me a new lacing method, which I have to say, has been phenomenal running in. All in all, she probably spent just under an hour with me and was cheery and helpful the whole time. Honestly, the staff here and their knowledge is truly outstanding. In addition the patience and customer service really blew me away. If you are looking for a new running shoe (or any shoe/sandal for that matter) I would highly suggest shopping here - you won't be disappointed. read more

Bought Blundstone shoes on Boxing Day thinking they were on sale 15% off. A couple of days later I found no discount had been taken. Went back to the store where the salesperson said Blundstone prevents them from putting their shoes on sale. I did receive an athletic shirt on Boxing Day valued at $15.00 not $30.00 which would have been the discount from the shoes. My beef is the signs and salesperson should have made it clear that Blundstones were not on sale. Everything was not on sale in the store like signs promised. Poor public relations in my opinion. I went to this store during summer 2009 because their website said they carried the Naot brand. Unfortunately, my visit was a textbook example of terrible customer service. I walked over to the Naot section and stood there looking for ten minutes, and none of the sales staff acknowledged me (the three of them were gathered around the till chatting). Eventually, in reaction to a pointed stare from me, one of them shouted across the room (not bothering to stir from where she was standing), "Oh, do you need some help?" I said I did, and handed her the shoe I wanted to try on. Not a word of greeting or friendly chat. Silently she took the shoe and went upstairs, and silently she handed the box to me and went back behind the till to read her textbook. This was repeated once more before I decided that not only would I not buy from this store, I would tell my friends not to, and I would never go back. I haven't. read more
