I left with a few items and decided to come back. I came back maybe a month or two later, Mambo was still willing to answer questions and make recommendations but challenged me to take the class. I soon signed up for part 1, 2, 3 of the Hoodoo 100 series. I was now armed with information. I came back a few months later and still the same. Still helpful, Mambo and her staff. Still timely recommendations based on my needs. I didn't mention, I drive an hour one way to go to this shop and it is 100% worth it. I have since taken more classes and ordered online. No issues. The associate was also very kind and let me have a dog treat for my pup. The one odd thing was that she asked me if I was a rewards member when I was ringing up, and I wasn't but said I'd like to sign up. She rung me up, then signed me up and said since she already rung me up, none of the points would count, so next time's purchase will be the first one I can get points on. They do have a nice rewards program where if you spend $100, you can get 15% off the next visit.

They were closed so we went back this morning. I asked for any kits appropriate for a four year old, and one of the ladies told me to give her a second. She came back with scraps and said they were free so my daughter could find out if she liked it. And then if she did, she had more for my daughter to try. You just don't find this kind of kindness at many shops anymore, and I so appreciate their willingness to pass on their craft like this. I ended up buying some items for myself, and I'm excited to get back on my cross stitch journey while my daughter starts her own.

My sister, who is an avid cross stitcher, enjoyed perusing the shelves and looking at threads and patterns. One of the things my sister was very excited to find was hand-dyed backing and a beautiful pattern for a stained glass window. When she couldn't find something she was looking for, she asked for help and received it. The ladies working there were a little quirky, but I think that's to be expected in a cross stitch shop. We also enjoyed meeting Romeo, the beagle. He was very calm and just enjoyed some sniffs and pets before letting us shop.
