Very large so everyone in the class was comfortable. Brought our own yoga mats, but they provided blocks and stretching straps. Our instructor Lauren was so nice and very personable, but most importantly, a great instructor. The moves she led us through were all pretty basic, but that was fine by me as I'm a newbie to yoga. My wife, who does yoga regularly, loved the class as well. The thing we both really enjoyed was the meditation at the end. Lauren led all of us into a state of relaxed bliss at the completion of the yoga portion. We didn't try any of the desserts provided, but everyone seemed to be really enjoying them. Kudos to Yelp for getting me to try, and enjoy, yoga. Something my wife had been trying for a while to get me to do. We will definitely be back and look forward to exploring the interesting neighborhood it is located in as well!!

I was solo that evening and she really made me feel welcomed and at home, taking me around to meet all the staff. She showed me High Society is a not only a lounge but also a gallery space, which I did not know prior to visiting. The featured gorgeoussss art highlights local Detroit artists and is changed regularly. Bartender was so friendly, accommodating and every drink was well-crafted with a very nice pour. DJ was jamming old-school R&B. I danced (in my seat) all night! Prices were great, especially that I was able to take advantage of happy hour. Food was being served off the grill out back but I didn't need any. The crowd was 35+ and every person that walked in the building came to have a good time. The atmosphere was so relaxed and laid-back. Thoroughly enjoyable. High Society was one of my favorite stops in the city. Highly recommend for a good time!

The Jam Handy is a fascinating venue where Nate and I attended a wedding recently. Located kind of…read morein what felt like the middle of nowhere, there's not a lot of parking nearby but street parking is available and you may have to walk a bit. There is a small parking lot at the Jam Handy, but we weren't really sure if we could park there, even for the rehearsal the day before the wedding. The space is historic and you can read about it online, but it served as a sound stage for the Jam Handy Organization, which specialized in industrial films and filmstrips for General Motors and the United States Armed Forces. The venue itself is a bit rustic and industrial, and serves as a blank canvas for whatever vision you have for your event. In this case, it was a wedding with lots of beautiful flowers and floral arrangements and green plants everywhere. The bar when you entered was a great touch, and guests were able to have a glass of wine before moving to the ceremony room, which had a floral backdrop. This space was turned into the late night dance party area as well. There isn't much around this venue, so don't plan on a lot of bar hopping nearby before your event. In fact, most of the bars didn't open until 5 pm on Friday, the day of the wedding. The only other downfall of the venue was having to go downstairs to use the restroom. There is one gender neutral restroom on the main floor but it was occupied 99% of the time I tried the door. Just something to note for people with mobility issues, high heels, etc. I also noticed some uneven areas in the floors. Overall I had a great time at this venue and was impressed with how it was transformed from the rehearsal time to the wedding itself! Sometimes I think spots like this are a little too much of a blank space for someone like me, who lacks creative vision to turn a place like this into something really beautiful. However, with the right team and vision, it can be exceptional!

Highly recommend - we'll be back again as we enjoy distillery tours and usually have to go to Kentucky for good ones like this.
