This place is so friendly and hip! I love supporting local businesses and I just love the energy and creativity. Great space to host parties and gatherings! Their drinks are really strong but pretty good! Overall great atmosphere !

Was visiting Detroit and wanted a nice vibe with good music on a Saturday evening. Found this spot on Yelp. Had a BLAST!!! The hostess/chef was AH-MAZING!!!!! I was solo that evening and she really made me feel welcomed and at home, taking me around to meet all the staff. She showed me High Society is a not only a lounge but also a gallery space, which I did not know prior to visiting. The featured gorgeoussss art highlights local Detroit artists and is changed regularly. Bartender was so friendly, accommodating and every drink was well-crafted with a very nice pour. DJ was jamming old-school R&B. I danced (in my seat) all night! Prices were great, especially that I was able to take advantage of happy hour. Food was being served off the grill out back but I didn't need any. The crowd was 35+ and every person that walked in the building came to have a good time. The atmosphere was so relaxed and laid-back. Thoroughly enjoyable. High Society was one of my favorite stops in the city. Highly recommend for a good time!

I was here for another event so did not get to experience the "normal" vibe of this business but I did get to taste some yummy well made cocktails and hear the great sound system, as well as check out the interesting art and cool design of this space . Clean smell, artistic lighting throughout, lots of leather couches and seating areas. Definitely a space I would come back to whether for a private event, a rug tufting class with Detroit Tuft or just to hang with friends and have drinks.

Parking was free on the night I visited, but I'm fairly sure that there's normally a charge. There is a coat check, which is nice. I was alone so I sat at the bar which seats about 20 in really close quarters. There are also several tables. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and salmon croquettes with potatoes and onions. The dish was served with a sort of remoulade. The croquettes were thin and slightly overcooked with crispy edges, but had good seasoning. I enjoyed the potatoes with onion. The happy hour menu is very affordable with various food items and drinks. The regular menu items are also inexpensive. A dj was spinning, which was a great. The music was appropriate for the crowd. I bopped for sure. The staff was courteous, but I did wait quite a while for my meal and my bill. One of the owners checked on me often which made me feel welcome and my patronage appropriated. I would recommend giving it a try. I will definitely return.

Here is the lay of the land: Check in at the little red table in the center of the outdoor courtyard if you want "full service". - which means eating and drinking at a table with wait staff. It is not seat yourself at the outdoor tables, like we originally thought. There is a nice sized bar indoors and seating at the bar is first come first served. We ordered several of the small plate "snacks" and I can tell you that the hummus is not to be missed. It is served with (homemade?) tortilla chips that are absolutely addictive. They have lots of choices for wine, beer, and cocktails. Towards the back entrance of the property, there is a drink truck where you can also order "walkaway" food and drinks. Not entirely sure where you sit with the food/drinks you order, as most of the seating seemed reserved for full service. Additionally, there is a photo booth for pics (long line) and Warda Patisserie is right next door and accessible through a garden walkway.

The inside restaurant area is also beautiful. We wanted to sit inside at the bar, so we waited for some seats to open up. If you want to sit outside, all you have to do is order at the bar and they'll serve your drinks in plastic cups for you to take outside. The rhubarb pie punch was so delicious I had to order it twice! Probably one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had. I also ordered the maurixio cattelan, which tasted like ginger ale. For a snack before dinner, we chose to get the burrata and it was so refreshing. The service was great and our bartender was super friendly! The logo with the little lamb is adorable. I bought one of their wine glasses with their logo on it too for just $10.

My friend and I were determined to have veggie botanas and a couple cocktails after work. That was a no go. The first server was great. Marcus was attentive and is usually my server when I visit and sit at the bar. No such luck this evening. He was our server until his shift ended. It was his birthday and he should be allowed the evening to celebrate. Then we cashed out and were handed over to the other server, Kristi. We, two women of color, spent almost fifteen to twenty minutes trying to get her attention to take our orders. This should have been a sign that we were not valued, but we soldiered on. As time continued to tick, we found it easier to cut into Marcus's off time to get him to remind our new server that we were still waiting to place orders. She had not even glanced at us. When we finally did get our food, the botana was full of avocado, but not much else. The beans and cheese were very skimpy. And usually, one botana is enough for me to eat for two days. I had dreams of eating my leftovers for lunch at work. Not today. Oddly enough, she seemed well aware of the table full of white gentlemen seated well after us. This was new to us as we've been coming there for years and even rode out the lounge's COVID-era closure. No matter. Our business was not as valuable as others in her section though it was not a particularly busy night on a Wednesday. I ordered a drink and when the server brought it back, she sat it in front of my friend. When she looked again and realized she'd given it to the wrong person, she simply stated your drink is over there and walked away. The appropriate thing to do is to put down the other drinks for the gentlemen that came after us and give me my beverage. I was proudly a server in college. No way would I have done such. Won't happen because, again, I'm all done here. The nail in the coffin was my friend paid with a $50 bill for one small item. She did not receive the proper amount of change and had to drive back to the venue to get her money. No thanks. I think that Detroiters of color need to be respected as much as the new folks who have recently discovered the area. I'll keep my dollars in my handbag if you can't manage to see me.

Their food menu is mostly lighter dishes, and while I didn't eat anything, I did watch them bring out the mussels to the couple next to me and they looked really amazing. They have a nice drink menu with a wide choice of wine (obviously) but also some interesting liquor and beer options. Their cocktail program is actually quite unique. If you want to buy bottles though, I think this is where they excel, because they have some really nice bottles available for sale, which of course you can drink on the spot, but they do charge a $20 corkage fee, which is why I knocked them down a star. I can understand if you're bringing your own bottle, but if you're buying the bottle there, I think it's kind of crazy to have that high of a fee. Just my opinion though. Other than that, the experience is great and definitely a great spot to go before or after dinner at Barda or Puma.
