    Nice beers on tap !!

I'm kinda torn cause if I post this review it might attract more people to this beautiful little gem. But .. none the less ..this is an adorable cocktail bar with a fantastic tap list too. It smells crazy good in here. There is super pleasant record player -playing happy tunes from Chicago jazz to blue grass. Thank you Robin Room !!! Keep it quaint

We always seem to gravitate towards The Robin Room whenever we're feeling like grabbing a casual drink. Located slightly past downtown, I feel like this spot tends to steer clear of the college crowd. First off, their drink menu is awesome. There's a section for each type of liquor so no matter what mood you're in, they've got you covered. I've also found this format useful when I'm feeling like trying something new. Their labeled pictures are really helpful to get an idea of what you're ordering! The weekends tend to get pretty packed at night and there is limited seating, but we've always managed to grab a spot at the bar and make our way to the tables after a bit!

Are you all about that vibe? The Robin Room serves up some cozy vibes and fancy drinks. I friggin love this little spot. It's tucked between an amazing plant store, a tattoo shop, and a vintage clothing boutique. Kinda creates the perfect little afternoon. Stopped in here with a friend on our Saturday funday and ordered the French martini. Very light flavor and easy to drink. We only had the one cocktail, but I easily could have had several of these. Staff was friendly, the drink menu was extensive and they had beer on tap too. We came at a good time (4 PM-ish) to get seats at the bar because it got packed really fast. It's definitely a popular spot. Make this a stop on your weekend fun days!

My husband and I stopped by for cocktails and we ended up with a cocktail experience. These cocktails are at the level of marvel and complexity that we have experienced in London, Paris and Montreal. The friendly and knowledgeable Matthew was unpretentious and a good listener to our tastes: he made me a gin-based fruity gingery cocktail and he made my husband a marvelous vanilla and rum extravaganza. We went on a Sunday so it was quiet and we loved it that way. This is a place we will definitely go back to! This is a WOW place.

I was in town visiting my brother who lives in Madison, Wisconsin who recommended this unique bar. There was a wide drink selection and I was very pleased with the speed of service. We tried several different drinks ranging from gin to brandy to tequila. The ambience was friendly and I would definitely come back here the next time I am in Madison. I will be sure to try out their other drinks.

Robin Room, this is my joint. As hip, cool, swanky and just all out decadent as it gets. I LOVE coming to Madison and hanging out here. First off, this spot is very low key. The double R greets you on the exterior door and if you don't recognize that this is the Robin Room, well then you missed it. Tables on the left and bar to the right with a big front area with tables and chairs to chillax on by the massive front window are just some of the features that greet one upon entry. Everything else is as should be expected for a joint of this caliber. Turntable, yes please. Vinyl, well definitely. They spin real records and make Robin Room as inviting as a bar can get. Drinks, well this place has more than a few to choose. A great selection of brews on tap along with a full bar to pick your poison. Take that and add more than a handful of those special cocktails you cannot or will not see anywhere else, yes this is the place. My mouth waters just thinking about getting over to the Robin to handle my business. Centrally located to all things hip and funky in Madison located on East Johnson, this is the place to be. Dead center between Forequarter and Salvatore's Tomato Pies, I dare you to pick another bar and get stuck up in it and need some food to eat, choices are right there. To go with that the staff is friendly and the vibe second to none, slanging straight vinyl for your ears to listen. All that make this prime territory to lounge. Robin Room you had me the first time I walked through the door!

One of my favorite little bars in Madison. Dark, cozy, and a stellar cocktail menu. A great place to meet with friends, or cap off a romantic evening, or even bring a laptop and do some writing. The space is small - this makes for an intimate atmosphere, but you've gotta plan ahead if you're coming here with a large group. Early is better!! Certainly recommend.

Alas, we have so few, and I'm so excited this concept opened! I came on a fall/winter evening, but definitely would love to come back in sunny outdoor weather. On the top floor of the Moxy hotel, Atico serves up a really lovely array of Mexican and Mexican-themed foods. They've got some really elevated entree options, but also have a host of street tacos. While their menu is a bit pricey (some were actually outrageous), the happy hour specials they had listed on the table were a great deal -- definitely would love to come back here for happy hour. I ordered 2 al pastor street tacos and a carne asada street taco. They're nicely sized and are decently full with meat. Onion and cilantro tops them off just like a street taco should be. I thought they were pretty tasty. I didn't love that the pineapple in the al pastor was chopped on top and was served cold (the pineapple, not the meat), but I still ate every ounce of both my tacos, so take my complaint with a grain of salt. My margarita was also good, I appreciated that they were willing to make it "up" instead of "on the rocks." Our server was very accommodating and able to answer questions. Overall, I don't know that the food is worth the price, but it would definitely be worth it on a rare occasion to enjoy the rooftop ambiance. The happy hour also solves for this conundrum. So, I'd certainly like to be back to Atico.

It happened to be near the theatre we went to, so we decided to stop in and check it out. They have nearly 775 different types of whiskey to choose from, which is wild! I loved that they offer different ounce sizes so you can sample a few, and they even pair it with water so you stay hydrated while tasting (smart touch). Price ranges between ~$7.50-$20.00+. The place had a cozy, lounge-like vibe and was pretty busy, but the staff was friendly and helpful. It's first come first served for seating, just like any bar. We sampled a few whiskeys and also tried their premade espresso martini. The whiskey selection was phenomenal, the espresso martini was decent, not the best I've had (it was premade), but still enjoyable (it's made with Tito's, which isn't my favorite base, but I appreciate the fresh coffee beans they used). All in all, this place is a hidden gem. Great whiskey, friendly staff, and the perfect cozy spot to escape the rain for a while. I'll definitely be back next time to try even more from their list!

Once a bank, this two-story space has gone from counting dollars to counting cocktails, and…read morehonestly, it seems very happy about it. The old bones are still showing, with exposed brick walls and the large open windows giving the place that "well, they sure don't build 'em like this anymore" kind of charm. Right smack in the middle of the main floor sits a big ol' bar, surrounded by bright lime-green accent chairs that somehow make perfect sense once you're sitting in one, bellying up to the aluminum topped bar. Tables are scattered throughout both floors, all are absolutely packed, and not a grumpy face in sight. Upstairs, the two-story layout gives the place a little extra breathing room and a touch of old-building grandeur. It's quirky without trying too hard, colorful without being fussy, and comfortable in that distinctly Midwestern way. Why not start with an Old Fashioned and those Wisconsin cheese curds--because apparently regular cheese wasn't doing enough heavy lifting. These little golden nuggets come out hot, crisp, and gloriously greasy, a little salty, a little oily, plenty cheesy, and best eaten while they're still hot enough to make you question your life choices. The Old Fashioned, well... bless its heart, it tried. It had all the usual suspects--whiskey, a little sweetness, an orange garnish, and a healthy dose of bitters--but somehow the bitters forgot to show up for work. It wasn't terrible, exactly. It just lacked that gruff Wisconsin attitude you'd hope for in an Old Fashioned. God Bless The Queen! The Queen is their wood-fired pizza that keeps things simple while teasing your taste buds with rich fresh flavor. The flavors are classic Italian comfort, with the tomato bringing a little tang, the mozzarella keeping things creamy, and the Parmesan adding that salty, nutty punch at the end. The basil gives it a fresh, herby lift, while the wood-fired crust brings that smoky, crispy edge that makes you want to pick up another slice before you've even finished the first. Loved it! Eating this pizza in an old bank feels like peak Wisconsin: keep the brick, add a bar, fire up a pizza oven, and throw some cheese curds at the situation. Somehow, it works. Cheers!

I am 19 years old, and my husband is over 21. As soon as we presented our passports, the security guard at the door refused us entry and would not even look at our marriage certificate, which showed that my husband would be responsible for me here in the U.S. In addition to that, he was extremely rude and disrespectful. He raised his voice at both of us while forcing us away from the entrance, used his body to block us (even though we were not trying to force our way in--we only wanted him to review our documents), pointed aggressively at a sign stating that alcohol consumption under 21 is prohibited, and told us to "get out." The issue is that I am visibly pregnant--38 weeks--and I do not consume alcohol. We were only there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Shortly after, our friend tried to speak with him and explain the situation, but once again he showed complete indifference, simply stating that he was "doing his job." My husband and I would not have had an issue if the bar had a strict policy of not allowing me to enter, even accompanied by my husband. However, the level of rudeness and lack of professionalism we experienced was completely unacceptable. He did not seem qualified to be in a security position, as he refused to review documentation and treated people in a disrespectful manner, regardless of whether they were customers or potential patrons. After reading other reviews, I noticed that poor service appears to be a common issue at this establishment, which is disappointing, as the venue itself seems comfortable and appealing. However, after today's experience, I have no interest in trying to visit again or recommending it to friends. I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider hiring staff who know how to perform their roles with professionalism and respect. Situations like this are embarrassing and ultimately damage the reputation of your business.
