Delicious! Order at the counter pickup at the window. The Root Note is a modern cafe with delicious food options. The interior is brightly lit and although the ceilings are very high up it's not too noisy to chat with a friend.

A place with many personalities, this spot blurs the line between coffee shop, restaurant, and bar. Plenty of seating to spread out and work during the day or stop by for trivia with your friends at night. Food is worth stopping in. Just order a bit extra and some items are a bit on the smaller side. The winter beat salad is fresh and delightful. The grilled cheese is layered between beautifully baked and soft bread. And I enjoyed the berry jam bar for dessert - they all looked amazing and it was hard to choose.

Went with a group of 5 and we were all very impressed by both the food and drinks. I was grateful for the vegetarian/vegan section of the menu. My brother kept saying how amazing the biscuit sandwich was. Service was friendly and quite fast considering how busy they were because of a parade that morning.

A cool spot to grab coffee in the downtown La Crosse area. Sincr it's downtown, you will need to find street parking. Atmosphere was really chill, the dining area was spacious and gave me an industrial, hipster vibe. Since it was cold out, I ordered a hot peach blossom white tea. Excellent tea, very fragrant, low astrigency. I would have loved to order some food, but apparently since it was a Monday they had a limited food menu due to low staffing (this was not listed on their website by the way so keep that in mind), so I just enjoyed my tea. Prices were comparable to other coffee shops and large chain coffee shops. Service was casual but friendly.

The root note was the perfect place to stop for a little lunch and coffee. I was blown away by how tasty and cool their ube tea latte was and was equally impressed by the biscuit sandwhich. I upgraded the sandwhich to included mushrooms and onions and I'm so glad I did because the mushrooms were so tasty and complimented the sandwhich so well! The restaurant itself is huge, food came out very quick, and the service was excellent! I will definitely be stopping in again soon to try some more of their inventive coffee drinks.

The Root Note is more than just a coffee shop- it's a hub for the community. The beverage and food menu emphasize creative and carefully sourced ingredients that elevate every bite and sip. The warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Root makes everyone who walks in feel at home. It's a great spot to catch up with friends, work on your laptop, or get inspired by the local artists handing on the wall or performing in the stage. Can't say enough good things about the Root

Kind of torn on this review…read more Grounded has a great patio and well-priced drinks. I just would say I haven't been super impressed by their drinks. I tend to prefer places that make some of their own syrups, etc. and from what I can tell, Grounded doesn't really do much from scratch, which is fine, just not my preference. Their drinks are usually good. I was kind of disappointed to see their even their seasonal specialty drink was not a homemade syrup. My biggest complaint is their cold brew is super weak/too watered down. Service is usually okay, cleanliness is usually okay as well. I do love their expanded hours, so we do stop here when others are closed.

Back then, it was our little ritual, cozy mornings with warm drinks and big feelings, just the two of us figuring out a new chapter one sip at a time. She'd order something with way too much whipped cream, and I'd pretend I wasn't tearing up over how grown-up she looked holding her cocoa. Now? We still go, only these days, she brings her friends, and I'm just along for the ride, and maybe to pay. It's gone from quiet catch-ups to full-blown coffee shop photo shoots with her crew. And honestly? The lighting in there gets it. The huge windows, the plants, the downtown charm, it's practically begging for cute, candid best friend pics and "caught laughing but obviously posed" moments. The vibe is warm, welcoming, a little artsy, and always buzzing in the best way. Whether we're talking about life, school, crushes, or just sitting in that comfortable silence that only comes with time, Grounded feels like home. A beautiful, caffeinated home with oat milk options and the occasional scone we swear we're splitting, but somehow I never get half. Grounded isn't just a coffee shop to us. It's a memory maker, a tradition keeper, a growing-up landmark in latte form.

Now I am a 30 year black cold brew snob and love going to a different independent coffee house to try its unique flavor as everyone does it slightly different. After my dang, I should have just tried another location in town, but she asked if I would like to purchase a nitro instead which they had in tap. I reluctantly ordered it just to keep the line moving and also a scone which was very tasty and inexpensive at $2.00. I took one sip of the nitro and crushed the scone. I sat in the coffee shop for an hour getting some work completed and it looked like a steady flow of customers. Nice ambiance Good Service Solid scone Lack of my coffee drink Overall 3 because it is a coffee shop and cold brew is on the menu
