I then started using him for boarding and training while we went out of town. The first time I dropped off Koa, I was happy--kind of. He said she had diarrhea and that she had worms. I took her to the vet, and she had no worms. I was surprised he even said that because she gets flea prevention that includes deworming, and she didn't have diarrhea prior to drop‑off. The second time we dropped her off, we left her with probiotics as recommended by her vet because she gets stressed when she's there. That time, there were no problems. The third time she stayed there, it seemed like Dave had new staff members. No one seemed to know I was dropping her off. I told them that she cannot eat food that they leave out all day because she gets diarrhea. Later, I got a text from Dave saying she had diarrhea again and that she had worms. I tried explaining to Dave that she did not and that I had already spoken to the staff. I had also given the staff her food. When we went to pick her up at the scheduled time, they made my husband wait almost an hour because they wanted to give her a bath, which was not discussed prior to pick‑up. They also confused her with another dog on their Instagram, which made me think that maybe she never had diarrhea and that it might have been another dog. No more. I feel like Dave has taken on too many clients, and this is no longer working. Sorry, Dave, but you are no longer trustworthy. I did, in fact, leave my dog with another trainer while we went on vacation, and she didn't have diarrhea. Amazing.

GENETIC DISORDER ALERT!! We got our beautiful baby girl back…read morein Jan 2020 and she was the absolute perfect addition to our family! Unfortunately we had to put her down a few days ago and our hearts are completely broken. About a month and a half a go we noticed she stopped jumping and barking. We also noticed extreme panting all the time...even when she was just laying down. Her body would be shaking like she was in pain and she started struggling to get up. We took her for blood work and X-rays and everything came back normal. A month went by and the trouble getting up turned into limping, the following day leg dragging and the day after that she was completely paralyzed from both back legs. We took her to the hospital and she was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy which basically paralyzes the dogs over time. The doctor said she was peeing and pooping on herself because her bladder was paralyzed and it was only a matter of time until the disease got to her lungs and then she would suffocate. Our family is completely traumatized by the disease and this experience. Had we known she inherited this genetic disorder we would have thought twice and what's even more upsetting is if these breeders KNOW and leave that information out to make money and leave these families with life long heartbreaks!!!!!!

I will never look elsewhere when adopting my next Havanese (or a breed that isn't a Havanese, for that matter). I adopted Cookie, formally Cartier, from the "C" litter. From our first phone call in Fall 2024, Marti was attentive to the details of my life and what kind of puppy temperament would be best fit for my lifestyle. She is kind, SO communicative, and the most detail-oriented, loving, and caring person/breeder. Seeing how loved these puppies are far before they are even born was constant reassurance that I made the best choice. I would receive multiple texts/pictures/videos a day when Cookie was born. My son did a search on Google for Havenese puppies and Harris Havenese popped up. All of the puppies were there when I visited the next day. Each one of the puppies were absolutely precious and they were happy and lively. The mother was nursing all of them . I wanted a female and there was 1 male & 1 female left. All the other puppies from the litter were spoken for. I quickly fell in love with Roxie and gave my deposit that night. I had to wait another month until the puppies were old enough to go to their new homes. Marty updated me with photos of my puppy and she also provided me important paperwork to look review. The entire process was very easy. The home where the puppies were living was very clean and orderly. Marti truly has the puppies, best interest and was so sweet and caring and accommodating to me. I had asked if she could keep the puppy for one more week because of my busy work schedule, and she was more than happy to do that. I have never purchased a dog before, but this process was very easy. My puppy is absolutely precious and everybody that meets her is obsessed with her. I get a reply with her daughters Venmo info and nothing else I kindly asked again about my questions (thinking maybe she didn't see that part) and I get a dismissive reply saying she's too busy and suggests I find another breeder. Every other breeder I've reached out to who are surely equally as busy as Lisa have had absolutely no problem answering a few simple questions before taking my money because they want you to be happy with your puppy. As that is best for the pup and the owner. Her pups are $1800 more than almost any other breeder in the country. I'm not sure why, but it's definitely not because of their outstanding customer service. 2 stars instead of 1 star because she was at least clear that she won't communicate with you until you pay up. Lisa, I took your advice and have placed a deposit with another breeder.
