Whoever does the merchandising for Kept knows what they're doing, I'll say that for sure! If you're looking for local gifts, they've got some local products in here too. I noted some local card makers up on the second floor - if it can be counted as a second floor? - and Rousseau's has chocolates there, for instance. And in the not local category, they have Rifle Paper Co. here. I'm completely in love with the Rifle Paper Co. art style, so that made me incredibly happy!

I arrived at the store and was greeted by a gentleman who probably provided me with a number of options for gift wrap service. We quickly make some excellent choices for gift wrap and ribbon, and he properly suggested that I have a cup of coffee across the street while they took care of the four packages I brought in. They were friendly, courteous, and easy-going and they are also efficient in the Gift wrapping. When I came back from my coffee, they rang my order up, and I was surprised that the cost of the wrapping and the paper was minimal. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a gift wrapping or stationary or candles or writing instruments. It's a very nice neat, cozy and friendly place to shop. Kudos to duly noted stationary. You have a customer for life in me.

Normally I get cards at Sweet Jane's, but I wanted a non-joke one, and one that was hopefully locally made. It's a small shop with a a few racks of cards, and an impressive amount of stationery fit into the space. There also seemed to be a wedding invitation consult going on at the time. The selection of cards spanned lots of events, although I just ended up going with a cute one with a blank interior. Most, if not all, of the cards seem to locally made, so if you'd rather your $4-5 for a card go to a local shop and artists instead of Hallmark (and you should), hit up Duly Noted! PS. Walking in I was greeted by a woman working in which she asked me if there was something that she was able to help. I stated that this being my first time I just wanted to explore. Looking down the isles I came across some really neat and interesting items anything from pic frames, to candles to some fragrance kits, a little pricey to me but I continued on. The baby section was really nice and had something called a pee pee tee, think about that one! cute. Beautiful keep sake items for someone very special. I actually did not stay in the store long as I felt very uncomfortable with the way I was being watched. It was to the point where I just walked out of the store not feeling to great.

There are lots of staff throughout the store and they're all very friendly and helpful. And while, the regular retail prices are somewhat steep, keep in mind that it is "Tommy Hilfiger" and there's always the option of buying from the clearance section.

While I love the high quality of the clothing sold at this store, every visit reminds me why I don't shop there more often: the horrible sales staff. I am a young woman in my mid twenties, and even though I do look younger than my age, I resent the way I am always treated like an unwanted teenage customer at this store. When shopping I usually have a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for, this shopping trip being no exception, and I appreciate being given space to browse racks and find things on my own. From the moment I walked into Samuel and Co on Friday the pushy sales woman who greeted me did not leave me alone for a second. It's very clear these ladies are working on commission by their aggressive sales style (something I find very off putting). Beyond the snobby, forceful attitude the sales woman demonstrated I was further annoyed that she didn't listen to anything I told her about what I was looking for. When she first approached me I explained I was looking for a simple, classic and mature looking dress to wear out to Valentines dinner with my boyfriend at an upscale restaurant. She proceeded to bring me a series of sequin coated skirts, see through blouses and other items of clothing much more appropriate for going to a club than a fancy dinner. Meanwhile I managed to find a few dresses I was actually interested in which she begrudgingly added to the pile of things she'd put in a dressing room for me (none of which I had any interest in trying on). I ended up buying one of the dresses I'd found myself and was very happy with the quality and look of it. Even at the cash she seemed annoyed I wasn't more interested in the items she'd suggested. Another pet peeve of mine is customer service people who talk at and not to you. While ringing my purchase through she asked a few questions about where I was going to dinner and what my plans were but when I started to answer she turned away from the counter to engage another sales associate in conversation about something. In general I was made to feel like I was a complete waste of her time. If it wasn't for the great selection of high quality brands and styles that this store offered I wouldn't bother to ever set foot in this place.

They definitely do create floral arrangements and sell plants, but the store front is dedicated to little treasures meant to be nestled into amply adorned goody baskets. I was greeted briefly after entering. It is Mother's Day weekend, so perhaps the worker's quick "hello" can be attributed to the frantic nature of this popular holiday. Around the store, different preserves and snacks could be spotted, along with body products and baby goodies. If you're looking to create a fancy gift loaded with various splendors, this shop can definitely help you out. I really wanted to be able to gawk at blooms in fridges, but alas, their flowers were kept off to the side and behind the counter, so I couldn't spot anything. There were however, massively impressive cacti filling the front windows which I did enjoy gobbling up with my peepers. This shop seems like a pretty good gift central station. There is gorgeous and very different jewellery at several different rpice levels, cards, art, beautiful scarves, and she does custom framing as well. The shop has a wonderful atmosphere and the owner is quite lovely to chat with. I am rather sorry I have already finished my Christmas shopping. Take a ew mintues to go in and browse!
