My friend Mindy and I visited during the Christmas season, and the store was beautifully decorated -- festive without feeling overdone. The candles were a huge highlight. They make their own, and they smell amazing. There's a great variety, and it's honestly hard to leave without picking up at least one. The owner, Robert, was incredibly kind and took the time to chat with us. He and his wife own the shop together, and you can really feel the care they've put into it. Beyond candles, they have a really nice mix of home décor, cards, and adorable kids' clothing, especially for the holidays. Overall, I really enjoyed my time there. It feels like one of those local shops you want to support and keep coming back to. Definitely looking forward to another visit.

There is definitely something for everyone. I left with a sequined cocktail dress that I intend to wear to my grandson's wedding ( so you can guess my age group) as well as an elegant top to dress up a pair of white jeans. Both set me back under $120. Amazing. There's an Emanuel jacket that I may have to return to buy. It was under $50. While I was there, the younger set was busy finding tiny dress treasures and YSL handbags. This was a sophisticated/ mixed age group. I overheard many shoppers tell Erin that they had been eagerly anticipating the store opening as they watched the changes she has made to the property over the past few months. You can tell she loves her store. Erin was beaming as she helped shoppers put outfits together. One woman looked so gorgeous in a long sequined evening gown that her companions audibly gasped. When the woman questioned whether her daughter ( the bride ) would think it suitable for the wedding party, Erin encouraged her to bring it home to physically show her daughter! WHAAAT? I wondered if she knew her personally, but, no. Erin told me it was just the right thing to do. You cannot believe the inside! Paint pens are available to write messages on the bright pink bathroom walls. Those left there after just one day were so cute. This lady is an amazing trove of historical information and that is why I love it. Julie knows what these things are, their provenance and the detailed history behind each piece. She is an expert in the field and farmhouse style antiques is what Julie eats, sleeps and breaths, 24/7. And the inventory! I honestly don't know how she constantly finds such incredible items. Every time I stop by, it seems like 1/3 of the store is stuff I hadn't seen before. Over the years I have bought a table, some stoneware and many a fist full of silverware (and she has a TON of it). Me, my wife, and adult daughter visited Farmhouse Antiques today, and what happened to them was…read moreabsolutely appalling. My wife opened an antique book on the table whose cover was already detached -- clearly old damage -- and it fell off as she opened it. The owner immediately stormed over and began berating her with an attitude that can only be described as hostile and condescending. She snatched a tiny piece of paper off the floor and inferring it was a "sign" warning customers not to touch -- insinuating my wife had somehow knocked it down. Then, dripping with sarcasm, she sneered, "Will that be cash or card?" while trying to force her to buy not only the already damaged book but the entire set. As if that wasn't enough, the owner followed us around the store like a hawk, glaring and muttering under her breath. When we finally decided to leave, she actually followed us outside -- screaming obscenities, calling my wife a vile name (The "C" word several times), and cruelly insulting my daughter's appearance even though my daughter had nothing to do with the incident and remained quiet. As we were leaving, I could distinctly hear the owner sarcastically tell us: "Be sure to go on Yelp and review my shop!" Thank you for the suggestion, Julie, I'll take your suggestion. From reading other reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated incident. This owner has a history of being rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional toward customers. I fully expect Julie will attempt to respond to this review by defending or excusing her behavior--perhaps even further revealing her behavior. I suppose we'll see. There are plenty of wonderful antique shops in Woodbury that actually respect their customers -- this is not one of them.

The older house has two 1st floor rooms with racks of clothes that are not the usual Talbots, Gap and Kohls. Here you'll find lots of Lily Pulitzer, Anthropology, Gretchen Scott and a plethora of other unusual brands for all ages. All I want to know is, where and how do people find this wonderful stuff? The proprietors are friendly, and live and blog locally. While hanging out in the front room and eyeballing their wonderful selection of woven and shell bracelets, a customer arrived who had taught in my district, and we had loads of fun discussing the characters we knew in common.
