Initially the frustration came from the long waiting times at appointments. If you are more than 15 minutes late you must reschedule but if you were on time, I have experienced wait times of over 45 minutes before even being called back and an additional 45 minutes to an hour in the waiting room. This has improved but now you must wait extremely long times for lab results, making me think the labs are not going out daily. I had blood drawn on Monday and didn't receive results until Friday for results that other offices provide same day or next day. I have blood that was drawn on Wednesday and Wednesday has come again and still no results, so if it is an urgent matter this would not be the practice to visit. I do enjoy the care I receive from the providers, they are easy to speak with and knowledgeable in their fields. It's just some categories where the practice is missing the mark.

It left me sore & back was already hurting really bad. So make sure you know what you're getting into before agreeing to cupping. I'll definitely come back and see her for acupuncture. Some things to be aware of, she is extremely kind, but her facility is kind of bright and loud with many friends talking. You will be her number one priority once she gets to you, but if noise, waiting, and bright lights make you uncomfortable be prepared. She is an expert but it would help to know what the experience is like before going. 1. You sign in (call for an appointment) 2. She asks what is wrong 3. She assess your major organs through your ear canal using a tool that makes noise 4. She confirms areas of discomfort 5. If you get the combo, the massage comes first, you have to take of your top off so be prepared, then the cupping then the acupuncture. 6. You lay on a table and the whole process takes about an hour. 7. You have to come back multiple times to fix any pain issues, not a quick fix. 8. It costs $80 for the combo $60 something just for acupuncture. 9. It doesn't hurt but it does if move around and tense your muscles.

I wasn't sure what treatment she would recommend for the numbness in my hand and foot but she did a treatment of acupuncture and cupping. The treatment was 1.5 hours and it cost 75.00. I would recommend this over deep tissue massage if you are in pain. Some of the cups were a little painful but I found myself very relaxed after a while and I caught myself falling asleep on the table. Dr. Bourgeois is the guy I see and he's always very professional and extremely friendly (I wish all doctors had as sunny of a disposition as his). As far as care goes, he's thorough but fast, which is great. He asks questions and listens intently to the ones I have for him, but I love that I'm almost always in and out of this office within a half hour of arriving. The nurses and reception staff are polite and professional as well, so it's always a pleasure checking in and out. If you live in the Helena/Pelham/Alabaster area I highly recommend this place (and especially Dr. Bourgeois). Always a great experience.

The place looked very shady, and I honestly felt uncomfortable walking in. I paid $80 for one hour, which I thought was fair, but everything went downhill from there. She asked me if I wanted hard or medium pressure. I clearly said medium. I also told her I had only a little back pain. She kept pushing for a deep tissue massage, but I said no -- I wanted a Swedish massage with medium pressure. She completely ignored my request. She used her elbows with very strong pressure, and it was extremely painful. I kept telling her to stop and go lighter, but she didn't listen. She just kept saying, "you will feel better later," while I was in pain the whole time. Then she added oil and said it would be an extra $20 -- without asking me first. I never agreed to that. At the end, I paid $80 + $20, and then she still asked for a tip. I literally paid to be in pain, not to relax. Now my back and legs hurt even more than before. I will never go back. If you value your comfort and safety, do not come here.
