Unfortunately I had a really bad experience I really don't know how this is even possible. The nice young lady that did my pedicure was nice but I think the level of experience is zero and she had no supervision. I had to ask to cut my nails twice. She just did not know how. The massage was short. The cuticles barely touched. But the worse was the polish. On one of my toes the nail polish was soo caked up that never truly dried. It was too thick. Just the level of knowledge of how to apply nail polish is not there. The next day it was all ruined up and I had to buy nail polish remover and redo the whole pedicure myself. Literally a waste of my time and $60 read more

I was told by the owner that I didn't deserve a refund after her intern Ivy cut all of my hair off..all of it!! It was almost to my lower back and now it's above my shoulders. Honestly, I was so excited to have a fresh new color in my hair. I got to the salon and Demi was supposed to be my stylist. She was running over a half an hour late....I tried to have a good attitude, but it started off on a bad note. Let me tell you - I think she was probably the least personable person I have ever met in my life. It was like pulling teeth to try to get her to talk to me or answer any of the simple questions I had to try to NOT make it awkward. The hair color itself was ok... nothing fabulous and not what she promised she could do. When my foils were in, she completely disappeared (went outside through the front door) and did not come back until they were ready to come out - and still no conversation. She quoted me on a phone call a certain amount which I had in my mind going in. THANKFULLY, I looked in my car mirror when I got into it, because she left so much highlighting product all over my face! Unfortunately, the thing that put me over the edge was her asking if she could trim up a few of my slit ends. How she phrased it, made it seem like she could just do it really quick - which she did (maybe a 5-minute ordeal). HA! almost $70 later for that "few split ends". She should have disclosed how much it would be and not make it seem like it was on her. I am pretty disappointed in how this whole morning turned out. read more

Peyton works some kind of magic. As a local, I had been driving the pass for a long time thinking that "my girl" in denver was my best shot at good hair. On a whim, I went in for a haircut with my fiancé, and we were both so impressed that I came back (literally 3 days later) to have Peyton do my color. It's been about 1.5months now, and I've gotta say... this is the BEST grow out I've ever had. The color placement is perfect. The shadow root is so natural that I think I could go another 2 months if I wanted to, and my hair felt healthy from the moment I left the salon. None of that crunchy recovery period. Pretty low on my list of nail salon experiences. The salon itself is nice. It's full service (hair, nails, lashes, etc). I came in for a mani/pedi. The girl who did my nails was plenty nice and conversational, but the quality wasn't great. The pedi started out okay. She did a decent job cleaning up my nails, although she only cut my cuticles on one side. Not sure if she forgot, but they were definitely uneven. The polish job was just okay, they dried a little bumpy but passable. My manicure is a totally different story. I do give her *just a little* bit of credit because my nails were bitten short (I'm an anxious biter) and she had less to work with than normal - but that's it. I asked for a full manicure with gel. She didn't push back my cuticles, she cut them kinda sloppy. She ROUGHLY filed the tops of my nails (think: visible nail residue and bumpiness) and then painted over that (so no dusting off, no washing, no buffing). The gel as a result was super bumpy, not shiny, and began peeling within days. For the price, I wouldn't come here again. I could've (and should've) done a better job at home with regular polish. read more

I drive from Grand Lake to Winter Park to see Peyton every two weeks. There are plenty of salons in between, but she is worth the drive. Peyton is super friendly and does a great job. I love the hemp oil pedicure, and she gives excellent massages on your calves and feet. At times I have felt like Peyton was giving me therapy for my injured foot. She would rub the swelling out. I am more sensitive on my nails than most folks, and Peyton is very gentle with me. She has even become one of my friends! In truth, all of the stylists have become my friend. You will see a ton of locals there. People come back to this salon because they know it is the best in Grand County. All of the stylists are amazing and friendly. You can't go wrong when you visit The Salon at Winter Park. I have done everything there from a blowout, make-up, waxing, tinting, eyelash extensions, facials, to haircuts. Camilla. Camilla was my stylist. I haven't had a haircut since March 2020. COVID hit, salon closed. We're full time RVers, so we're traveling every few weeks or months. I First didn't want to wear a mask while getting my haircut, then it was the anxiety of not trusting anyone to cut my hair anymore. We've stopped through CO for a few weeks. Long enough to read some reviews & suck it up. Glad I did. The salon was able to fit me in (wedding season), very accommodating. After getting a couple of text reminders through the week, Camilla even called the day of, with an opening from a cancellation. Nice. Unfortunately couldn't take it - meetings . When I arrived, she was ready, no waiting, clean station, bright smile and good conversation. This will remain a 5 star review, but one suggestion, longer, deeper scalp massage at the wash bowl. That's what I've been looking forward to for 16 months & it just wasn't meant to be. The hair cut made up for it. 3" taken off, perfect length, even (that's important ) & not over styled. I'd like to think she saw my simple personality & new I didn't want bouffant. When we came back through, I'll plan another haircut with Camilla. I used this salon for hair and makeup for my wedding. Before I begin I would like to state that the services rendered by Peyton and Mikaela were flawless and absolutely perfect in every way. This review is in regards to the owner, Stacey. Stacey was the worst vendor I had to deal with for my wedding. I signed the contract and booked the services for hair and makeup for myself, SIL, MIL and mom. My MIL never required hair, however Stacey put her in for hair and I thought oh well need to update the schedule and we can sort it out then. Stacey very rudely replied that I would need to pay a 50% cancellation on a service I NEVER REQUESTED. I had to revisit this conversation with Stacey twice and argue over the cancellation. Then I was told that the people I had originally booked for my services left the salon. So I changed to another stylist. When I came in for my hair and makeup run through from Denver, Stacey kept interrupting my appointment by asking Peyton administrative items and didn't acknowledge my presence while I was in my service. Stacey also informed poor Peyton she wouldn't get to payroll until Monday. I thought to myself if I didn't get paid on the 15th and end of month timely I would lose my mind at the level of irresponsibility of the owner. Then they day before my wedding I received an email from Stacey stating that Peyton would have to leave me at 1:30 but Mikaela could stay. Well my hair and makeup run through was with Peyton. Horrible ownership. No wonder people have been leaving the salon with an owner like this. If you are looking at this salon for wedding services pay for someone to come up from Denver and skip Stacey's none-sense and over priced services. read more

I would have given four stars, but I thought my service was a bit overpriced. That said, here are all the things I liked about The Salon at Winter Park... - Great location, I loved being able to look out at the river, mountains, and kids at the skate park while I had a manicure/pedicure. The ambiance was nice and bright, clean, and welcoming. - Friendly professional staff. The nail technicians did a great job, I was happy with the shape & color application and was so happy to not cringe through any of it. - Average color selection of OPI and china glaze polish. Oh, and they had a few of the natural polishes they sell at Pharmaca (SpaRituals)! - It was nice to be offered a wide selection of beverages when I arrived and again when I moved from manicure to pedicure. Just a few things that would have made my experience better: - I do enjoy when the pedicure chair has massage, which this did not. Although it was a nice and comfortable chair. - The pedicure was $45 and the manicure $28. I think $35/$20 would be more reasonable, but I know lots of people wouldn't have a problem with this. read more

The ladies are very friendly, offered beverages, but easily ruffled when the people in our party changed. Still the same number though; they figured it out. We did pedis 1st but even with an hour long mani afterwards, my toes weren't dried & my socks left impressions. Then I get home & see that the calluses on my heels weren't done very well. I did see another lady (not in our party) get her hair cut & styled & that turned out super cute! They are pricey but they do very well in their fields, just make sure to ask what they normally do. read more

if i could give Camille 0 stars I would. I initially went in for an acrylic set which was confirmed over the phone. I was serviced by Camille who applied gel polish over a tip glued onto my nail which obviously is not going to hold up. I spoke with her about possible reimbursement and she tried offering me ten dollars for an almost $70 service including a tip. Camille has apparently been doing this to a few clients without telling them that the nails will not hold which is very unprofessional. Thankfully another girl in the salon spoke up to the manager about the bad service. Camille continuously told me "but these look so good right" as if that mattered because they are already bending and i have had them on for less than an hour. As she stated on her instagram saying she is a "natural nail artist" i would have to naturally disagree. I do not recommend Camille who not serving clients correctly and she is doing so continuously. read more

I came into The Salon at Winter Park as a treat from my best friend before her wedding. We attempted to book our pedicures at Bella Vita down the street but they were completely booked. When we walked in, the salon was very nice, but the employees seemed disorganized. I got the impression that the employees were not ready for us, even though we had appointments and the salon was not busy by any stretch of the imagination. We got sat down after about a 10 minute wait and our individual nail techs eventually made it to us. The pedicure itself was lovely, though the scrub they put on your legs is maybe a bit painful. My main beef was the nail polish job the tech did on my nails. The polish was bubbly and uneven, something that is NEVER okay when you're paying a professional to polish your tootsies.... especially for a wedding! I won't be back in the area anytime soon, especially for a pedicure, but even given the chance I probably wouldn't come back here. I'd rather book far enough in advance to get into Bella Vita, which is apparently the place to be. read more

I got my wedding hair and makeup done here (June 24, 2017) by Kelly and I highly highly recommend her for any event! I did a trial in 2016 and knew I'd go with her immediately. She paid close attention to what I wanted, mainly that I didn't want to look like I was wearing a ton of makeup since I normally don't and we were doing an outdoor wedding. She also did a great job on my hair. I still use some of the products she used on me and she gives great recommendations and uses products based on your skin type. She was great! My mom and sister were also happy with their hair and make up. A few of us also got our nails done here a few days before the wedding and everyone was really helpful, friendly, and did a great job on our nails. They also provide champagne glasses which is a nice touch. I recommend you at least do a trial makeup/hair here! read more

Horrible salon. First of all, the place is filthy-from the extremely dirty apron the nail tech was wearing to the dirty bathroom. There are piles of junk everywhere. I went for a mani pedi before a wedding because this was the only place in town, What a mistake. My gel manicure was uneven and poorly done. It was actually dull within hours and chipped within days. My regular pedicure was sloppily done and was so poorly done I re polished my toes myself when I got back to the hotel. The tech was very friendly and tried hard( her mom is a stylist there),but was incompetent. Their selection of nail polishes is terrible and outdated and many look dried out. And to top it off, they are incredibly over-priced (and I live in a major city and go to high end salons,)but this place was absurdly priced for their service. If I could give zero stars I would. Brenna did my makeup and had been the one to coordinate my appointments with and she was absolutely wonderful. I typically dont like to get my makeup done but she did a perfect job! Pedis with Lydia are my favorite! But all the girls give great pedis and the chairs with the massage so nice! Other services, my mani - great. Eyebrow's not only waxed but trimmed and shaped. I have gone to see Camille for a haircut and highlights twice now. She is truly amazing!!! I have very long thick hair and Camille does an excellent job. She spends lots of time on me to make sure that the results are beautiful every time. Camille listens to what I want and then creates the perfect look for me. The first time, she matched my natural hair color perfectly so my highlights would look natural when they grew out. The second time I asked her to go a little blonder and she did an amazing job on my hair. In fact, it took her four hours! She is patient and gentle and is the best stylist I've been to- ever! I gave my experience with The Salon at Winter Park 1 star because the staff was very friendly and they fit me in for a last minute appointment. That being said, I am very disappointed with the services I received. My manicure was overpriced ($32 before tip!!) and looks like it was done by my three year old. The price for the eyebrow wax and tint was reasonable, however I ended up with horrible blisters and bruising from the waxing job. The tinting she did looks great, it's too bad I can't see beyond my painful and terrible looking eye lids. I left this spa $80 poorer, blistered and bruised-not the way I want to spend the last few days of my ski vacation. Boo! read more
