I understand I bought a counterfit, but I thought there would be some kind of quality control, considering the other items that are there and the price of them. I was told on the phone well we're also vintage, and I can assure you this is not vintage either. I am extremely disappointed and giving a buyer beware don't be fooled by the beauty and smiling faces because it's another antique shop with vendors that want to charge you way more than what the item is worth and allows things from companies creating counterfeit decor. THE SPECIFIC VENDOR IS B24. I mean, seriously? ALI EXPRESS??? I've never been to a shop that had any items from there or similar companies, and I can't believe that even made it to the floor. (Speaking of, my mom and I almost made it to the floor multiple times with rugs ready to trip you down every aisel.) Purchased a Kenmore washer and dryer from an ad on Craigslist on May 15, 2019. Thought it was a…read morelegitimate purchase because it stated" come view at Advent Thrift." It also stated it had a "60 Day Warranty" and no where did it state repairs only NO REFUNDS. I am a single working mother with 2 sons who have blood diseases and after speaking with Al over the phone found a person to pay and have the set picked up. When the pickup person arrived he entered the store asked Mrs. Peters (Manager) for Al and she stated "right over there." The washer tub has numerous rust spots and clothes have been damaged. I called and spoke with Al and asked for a refund and he stated "no refunds only repairs" and I stated that was not stated in the ad and he agreed that it was not. He offered to come to my home and change out the tub and again I requested my $$ back and that the ad needed to be clear in reference to a "60 Day Warranty". He at which time stated "it was not a good time for him to speak and that he was hanging up." I called him back and asked again for a refund and he stated no again and claimed he almost ran into something talking on the phone with me. I told him I would not call again but rather have legal contact him. Next, I called and spoke with Elizabeth Peters (Manager) of Advent Thrift and explained to her my circumstances, she indicated that he was leasing space and that she had not seen the ad. She wanted to call him and offered to call me back. I received a return call from her and she stated "He offered to repair the tub so leave me out of it." I am competing paperwork and filing a small claims judgement against Al. To protest not having the terms honored is worth the $78 plus $20 to have a sheriff serve the judgement/paperwork. Always keep receipts and take a screenshot of ads...I am so glad I did!! On the receipt, he had another opportunity to write "no refunds only repairs"...but he did not. Advent Thrift need to require leaser's to have insurance and state clearly they are a separate entity. They may be liable also.

If I was a millionaire, I'd shop here all the time…read more Unfortunately, I am not a millionaire and this place caters to a high end crowd. With that said, they have some gorgeous pieces that are not overpriced--they're rare, they're in extremely good condition, etc. Think original paintings, 18th century furniture (in immaculate condition), an impressive array of silver serving pieces, gobs--and I do mean gobs--of pearls and other estate jewelry, etc. The owners are super friendly, chic without being pretentious, knowledgeable without condescension, and the shop is gorgeous. When we were there a lovely dog was roaming about, too (I loved that, you might not). Unless you have a high limit on your Amex, likely just a window shopping excursion, but a delightful one nonetheless.
