It was a little difficult to find this store, but once we did I was so glad we hunted for it. It is real spacious and well lit. The only thing I have issue with is the clothes are not sized. In smaller stores that's not a problem, but with these long racks - several of them - I needed to go through all of them. They have a large selection of housewares which I wasn't interested in since we're traveling, and my partner found a Hawaiian shot glass for our collection. The prices are good and the day we went it was Seniors Day so the shirt I bought was reduced. It was worth going to this shop but be sure to allow some time to look at everything. read more

This location has plenty of parking spaces. I didn't check to see the hours but probably change because of corona. I was looking for something specific today but fell into a few other things that caught my eye. They have a plethora of cooking books. Some novels as well . If you into arts and craft they have a few selection of interesting crafts. The clothes section was full. Not sure if they are taking any clothes at this time. But found some great exercise tips and pants. The dressing rooms are closed so don't even think about it. Most likely come back to find some craft items or good cooking books. read more

I am so disappointed with the manager I dealt with today. I was bothering her asking questions. She was very rude and said she couldn't give me a price on a suitcase and the guy that was behind the counter was no help at all. I don't even think he worked there. I had a few things in my hand and another suitcase. I put them down and told them that they have lost a sale. I went down to the Rainbow Attic consignment store and got what I wanted. This is a one star strictly for extremely poor customer service. I brought about $70 worth of clothing up to the register after a fun shopping experience with my daughter. Two cashiers were working on ringing up my stuff when they came to a cute pair of shorts my daughter picked out ( her favorite find). All the sudden they tossed the shorts aside and said "I can't sell these, they have no tag". I replied "really?" The cashier say "ya, really" and goes about her business. I asked politely if they could please price them because we really liked them and they rudely replied NO! It was as if they took pleasure in bumming me out. I literally paid between $2 and $3 for each of the items, would it be that hard to come up with a price? And even if that was their policy, could they be more polite and apologetic for their mistake of putting out items with no tag? I went back the next day to see if they had tagged the shorts for purchase and when I asked about them (same employees), they said "No, we threw those away, they were stained." I couldn't believe they would rather disappoint my daughter and me rather than just give me the shorts they were planning to throw away! So rude and disrespectful! It actually seemed like they enjoyed this part of their job. I work in customer service and would never treat a guest this way. Thrift store or not, we are paying customers and should be treated with kindness and respect. read more

I'm giving this Salvation Army a five-star for being there and providing a necessary service, and a one star for the poor attitude of the woman at reception today. Just rude. Maybe the woman at reception was having a bad day, but somehow I think that's her MO. Anyway, I don't think that people making donations should be made to feel as if they've done something wrong by, for example, not putting items in separate little cardboard boxes....that sort of thing. You'll walk in there happy, but by the time they're finished with you at the receiving desk, you'll feel as if you've violated some law or something. read more

If you're looking to drop off for donations, it's best to call beforehand and see what they'll accept. They are not currently accepting a variety of household items, including lamps and furniture. (Trust me, call ahead. Otherwise you'll be turned away with your donations.) They'll (understandably) pick through your bags to assure what you're donating is clean and in good condition. read more

Every time we go to Maui this store is on the top of the list of things to do - especially on Tuesday when senior/military discount is 25% off. The store is organized, clothing is organized by color not size - o well. We were always greeted when arriving and departing. I found a new with tags dress for $6.99. The designer label from the UK has 12 dresses available now ranging from $71 - $102. After discount the dress was $5.24. Hubby found 3 Tommy Bahama items all in excellent condition with the highest price being $5.99 BEFORE discount. If your rental doesn't have the kitchen items that you need, shop here. Also, there were wet suits, a Morey boogie board and 2 Tommy Bahama beach chairs in excellent condition! How can you go wrong? The Salvation Army store in Lahaina does not compare. read more

Don't go here, I'm an avid thrift store shopper and have been coming to this location for about two years. Recently, maybe the last 5 times I've gone I have noticed they are raising there prices about twice the other S.A. They are almost charging what you would pay for the brand new item. On top of it they have become increasingly rude !! I don't know what has happened as of late, but save your money and spend it at an establishment that value thier customers. The location is off South Kihei Road, behind Maui Dive Shop and across a recycling center. It's split between two stores; the "general merchandise" part on the ground level, and the "Boutique" store on the second floor. Probably the bigger of the three SA Thrift Store locations, the "general merchandise" is well organized and spaced between two big rooms. Clothing, toys, and household goods fill the front, while sporting goods, books, media, and electronics fill the back. Furniture is split between the two rooms as well. Sometimes items are out in front for cheap and quick sale. The boutique holds the more "high end" stuff, like name brand clothing, jewelry, fine furniture and art, and one room almost dedicated to silverware and related metal goods. But usually that part seems to be closed most of the time that i've been there. For me, it's easy for me to go in, look for what I want quickly, and get out. the staff is quick and friendly, and i've never left without at least something. read more

Hidden gem. Not a lot of vintage like I would normally like to see. But they do have good items for the beach and home. Too bad I wasn't looking for either. But lady behind the counter was very nice. And I also scored some polarized ray bans with the case for $14.99! Also try here if you want small trinket souvenirs to take home. They have a few bracelets and such and are less than half of what you would pay at any store or "craft fair" in the area where they sell them. read more

Salvation Army Kihei cashier at register was very rude. I asked where I could drop off donations and she said with a rough tone "not today!" But there was a paper on the fence that read donation drop off 10-2. I was already uncomfortable so I didn't mention anything about the sign. I would think workers would be grateful that people are donating rather than just trashing their belonging. Their management needs to be evaluated and taught customer service. read more

Please do not donate or buy items from this store. The attendants were very rude and pretty much rejected all the items I brought to the store. The clerk yelled at me several times for bringing in items that were not in a bag or box. There were no signs to tell you to bag or box your items. They even rejected dictionaries I tried to donate from my daughter who is on the mainland now. They only wanted novels. I had suits from my late husband they wanted in a bag. They seem to cater to a certain class of customers. I live in Kihei all my life 65 plus years and this store is not what it was many years ago. Getting very picky on what they accept. Big Brothers and Sisters accepted all my items from my late husband no questions ask. They were very thankful. What happened to servicing customers that are in need. There prices are higher and seem to be making a profit. I guess Kihei Salvation Army has lost their compassion for providing helping to the "real needy". So sad. read more

I've been coming here on and off for 13 years, each time thinking maybe things have gotten better. Unfortunately I've had the same experience pretty much every time. They've been consistently rude when I've dropped off nice donations, like I'm inconveniencing them by bringing them sellable items in excellent condition.
