I was given an outstanding team to help me with various needs and the staff there and my workers made me feel so comfortable and understood and they became my angels. I've never felt as comfortable at any other organization as I became there at outreach center. It felt like home and the staff are all so personable and accommodating. I started receiving help in 2015 and I've been done with needing their assistance for quite a few years now but I do get to go by there every now and then like for adopt a family and the staff that are still there still remember me and treat me like family. I truly am so grateful for everything they have ever done for me

(http://womensoutreach.ca/coop.html) This service is not very well advertised, but is an absolute Godsend for those who are financially strapped. Once a month for $25, you will receive fresh fruits & veggies, a starch, and frozen meat. Pick up is located at the downtown Salvation Army. This month I received apples, oranges, romaine lettuce, several bell peppers, a bag of elbow macaroni, plus 3lbs of hamburger, 2 pork steaks, & 2 chicken legs & 2 chicken thighs. All for only $25/month! Each month, I'm astounded at the amount of food. This service has inspired me to find new and creative things too cook. My crockpot is really getting a work out. :) The women involved in dispersing the food are always very friendly.

This is one of the nicest nature centers I've visited. I was looking for a place I could go…read morebirdwatching when I visited this area and I found Kerry Wood and it looked ideal. The only problem was it was not the season when the migratory birds come through and they have had a great shortage of rain so the ponds and lake levels were really low. We had fun anyway and spent time wondering around the exhibits and gift shop and then taking the hike to the bird blind and then around the ponds. There were a few birds. Hope to come back someday when the migration is at full. Great place to bring the family and spend the day. Admission is by donation. Well worth the price.

We came here recently upon a trip to Red Deer. This area has a wonderful hiking path that begins…read moreand ends at the centre, along with an indoor area which includes exhibits and space for special events (plus free restrooms). This centre is free (except for certain events). There seemed to be a good shop indoors as well. We saw some great birds (and some people in my group saw deer!) on our walk and there was a great little playground at the centre (sponsored by the local Kiwanis club), and it really didn't feel like you were in a city when you were here. There is a lot of parking and we noticed that they have great family-friendly programming.

how much goes to charity..?jeans are worn out and probably why there given away..over priced…read moreclothes and junk dropped off at back door...bathroom is deplorable..would it take a lot to improve?..one could try on stuff but they have not gone back to the service they used to provide..Mission thrift store is better value for your money and they too provide money for community groups in Red Deer...and merchandize is tested before it goes on the floor..
