I lucked out because after morning service Pastor Black returned my call & told me they had a evening service. After I explained what I was looking for then he told me about himself, his family, and the Church. It seemed like a perfect match for me. I was so excited to go to the service. Due to a 3 year old Great Niece's temper tantrum I made it there with 5 minutes to spare. As soon as I walked in I KNEW I FOUND MY CHURCH! It was such a warm welcoming environment and everyone introduced themselves to me. The Pastor came straight up to me & welcomed me. It was a special night because they had a couple singers from out of town that did a performance. They were so good. The sermon was excellent & I could have listened to Pastor Black for hours. After the service I talked with several people including the Pastor's Mother & his lovely wife Tina who took time to give me some much needed information. God lead me to this Church. If you want a nice comfortable small town tasteful and anointed Church look no further!

The only thing good to say here is that there is a 5:30p Sunday Mass and their music ministry is…read morefine. But was my Mass valid?! You'd be better off driving to St. Mary in Annapolis-or closer to a a Mass in Bowie (St. Pius, Sacred Heart-in the Archdiocese of Washington) at least you know for sure that it's valid. These are my issues: The priest uses improper vessels on the altar: a pyrex mixing bowl during the consecration and what looks like iced tea glasses to hold the Most Precious Blood? Seriously? How about the fact that nobody kneels in reverence during the holiest part of the Mass (when the priest is consecrating the bread and wine in the pyrex). The priest at the 5:30p Mass I attended was going back and forth from the old missal to the current Romal Missal--doing his own thing. These parishioners have no clue here and the formation is obviously null. The dress is way too casual, but hey, what do you expect. It really goes with the territory. Not coming back here but will pray for this parish and their priests. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us and your parish in Crofton.

If someone asks you if you're helping with snow removal, at least answer that you're not. My neighbors and myself are elderly and not one church in the area responded, even with a "no", to my question. We were locked in for days, and never mind the county helping anyone. They're even worse b/c they dumped loads of ice on our driveways to further prevent us from getting out!

The Pastor, the community, everyone is so welcoming and loving. This is a multicultural, Christian based church where the focus is on building your relationship with God. It is a "come as you are church" where the Pastor is always on point, engaging, smart and kind. The music ministry is AMAZING - my favorite part! There is a Kids Town for infants to 5th grade - my 9 year old often wants to stay for both services so he can stay in Kids Town. There is a youth ministry for young adults called Thrive. For adults there are community groups and fellowship around every corner. This is a welcoming place that really just wants to bring help and healing to the people of Southern Maryland. Our inspection showed the inside of the church interior to be in typical post-Vatican II style. There is no organ. There is a high quality concert-size piano. The chapel is the entrance area of the church itself. In the entrance of the church proper, there is a nice sized eight-sided baptism font. There are church chairs instead of pews. The church is handicap accessible. Attached is a photograph of the interior. We haven't heard the music. One of the hymnals with the chairs is the "Saint Michael's Hymnal". This church sits off the road in an industrial park so it's easy to miss. Also, the exterior is similar in color to the other buildings, luckily they had people directing traffic. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. It had an open layout and was quite inviting. Male greeters/ushers directed me to the sanctuary, but took time to point out the ladies room. Once inside, the ladies directed me. The church had traditional elements like pews with Bibles and Hymnals in the back slots. Mike McCoy and Voices United and the dance ministry performed before Pastor Jenkins delivered the Word. FBCG was deep in there! It was a fantastic service and even though I was a visitor, the members of ITLM treated us like family. It was a perfect way to reboot after a long and taxing work week. If you live or frequent the Waldorf area, pay ITLM a visit. You won't regret it!
