This place, well, this place certainly isn't my scene. I only stopped off here for a drink before continuing my way south, and to be honest with you, I really wasn't impressed. Sure, they do serve beer here, but they really don't have a selection that is really all that great. In fact, this place really just lacked any life whatsoever. Sure, if you are looking for a place to have a drink them maybe, maybe this place will be okay, but don't count on it. read more

I order a classic Kettle One Vodka Martini. The bar tender did not know what kettle one vodka was. I pointed it out as it was on the top shelf. She then poured it in a shot glass and dumped it in a martini glass. I pointed out that it needs to be chilled on ice and either shaken or stirred. As they were a millennial she said I was upsetting her and had to take a time out and walked away from serving me running in the back. Wow. If your a bar tender maybe you should know what vodkas you have as well as know how to make the most classic drink in the world. For that reason I would not recommend this as this is a reflection of management. read more
I stayed on a Saturday night and paid $380 for a superior room.. There is definitely nothing special about the hotel. The room was an average/standard room. It was clean and maintained nicely. But for the price I expected something a bit nicer.. The little things that annoyed me were - no toothbrush kit in the bathroom.. No complimentary bottled water.. $3 for bottled water and there were only two.. No mini bar or drinks in the fridge.. The only thing the room had going for it was the beautiful view of the beach across the road.. The music and general noise from the Pub below was heard all night in our room.. The staff were pretty below average.. Not friendly or helpful.. There is undercover secure parking beneath the hotel which is good. The food is not Reccommended.. Especially as the prices aren't cheap for "pub grub".. Hubby ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli and couldn't eat it all as it wasn't very nice.. The sauce tasted like it came straight from a jar. I went to order the Spag bowl for my son and was disappointed as they only had Neapolitan sauce.. (Son didn't eat it) However, my Salmon was Cooked beautifully! It came with a white sauce and stemmed veggies.. (I ate it all) Probably won't stay here again.. And can safely say i probably won't come here to eat again.. - it's the experience that counts tho?? read more
Typical pub grub nothing outstanding or amazing, stay away from the stir fry I could have made better at home. It gets quite busy in the restaurant on the weekends. We also had breakfast here one morning it was nothing special for the $20 each. We stayed at the Sands for 3 nights I was a little concerned about the noise from the hotel downstairs making it to the rooms however this was not an issue at all once you go onto your floor there was no sound from downstairs even with a band playing. The rooms were clean and spacious and modern. The location is central and the views of the beach are sensational. read more

As the only watering hole along the Narrabeen strip, this pub could charge what it likes. But while it isn't exactly cheap, it isn't noticeably expensive compared to other Sydney pubs. The menu is diverse, but tonight they were out of the barbeque wings. And the ribs. And the Guinness Pie. Our waitress has that indefinable combination of innocent friendliness and too-cool-for-school vibe. Never mind, she serves Pacific Ale and Fat Yak, so all is forgiven. read more

For the years of my childhood, Narrabeen Sands Hotel was a daggy pink building on Pittwater Road that represented an eyesore, not a nightspot. Harsh, perhaps, but true. I would not go there, nobody I know would go there and ultimately, it wasn't very commercially successful. But this has all changed - the hotel was renovated in 2008 or so, and is now a completely different place. There's still a large room full of pokies machines, but the rest of the pub has a much classier feeling to it now. On Tuesday nights there is trivia - always a good time - and Sunday nights often feature live acoustic sets. There is also a food deal from the bistro, which changes every night. I'd recommend the Wednesday night steak and prawns combination - for less than $10, you get a steak cooked to your liking, salad, chips AND a Bluetounge beer. Happy days. The rest of the bar menu is varied, with some creative choices - I'd go for the chicken satay sticks, or the burger, but everything seems delicious really. They do unfortunately employ those stupid little buzzers that tell you when your food is ready - I HATE THOSE THINGS, THEY ARE SO STRESSFUL. In terms of drinking, you've got a wide variety of tipples to choose from. Like the food, there is often a special on, so be sure to ask. read more

Was given a sheet of foil to put our food in and had the unpleasant experience of 2 staff members behind the counter gossiping about me while i stood right infront of them. Very rude and disappointing. read more

OK simple bar. It was better before the renovations and facelift. So many great bands played here, now it's just another homogenous bar. The open air area on Ocean St redeems it a bit. read more

The Sands have recently been renovated and is considered a classy joint. They have an excellent range of wine available and the food is reasonably good. A must for those who live on the Northern Beaches. If you have had a bad experience prior to their renovation, you should reconsider and you will most likely change your mind! read more

Food and drinks are decent. Great local pub. Staff member Jordan had an "i don't want to be here attitude" and was unrightfully aggressive and judgemental. Members of management should note this and take action. Avoid. read more
