If I could vote 0 stars, I would. Went here for breakfast yesterday and the food was bland, torrid. the service? Horrendous. There was a greasy hair in my eggs! And the state of the cutlery was appalling. Do they even get washed?! The decor was fine, quite cozy. But everything else was just inexplicably bad. Destination Xenia for a motor ride and visit to a vintage motorcycle shop. Found this place on Yelp and drive the few extra miles out of town. Definitely worth the trip. Small quaint place. Maybe seating for 30 including the counter. Food was very flavorful. Serving could have been a hair bigger for me but I was satisfied for the ride home. A little cozy spot off of route 42 on your way to Cincinnati. It was unassuming but we were greeted promptly. I had the Greek omelette and it was delicious! Hubby had the hearty biscuit breakfast and was very satisfied. I know prior reviews spoke about the portions but to us it was perfect! The gravy was smooth, creamy and sausage nicely seasoned. My omelette who knew that tomatoes, spinach, feta and sour cream would be so tasty! The home fries well seasoned and pillowy in the middle. Definitely will be back again read more

This was a great find for a quiet breakfast. The food was very tasty, cooked properly and hot. The owners were very friendly, but don't be in a hurry when you go. Everything is cooked from scratch. The biscuits are great. My husband said the steak omelette was fantastic. I had biscuits, eggs and sausage and even though I'm not a fan of breakfast gravy, it was delicious. Coffee was not my favorite, but it was hot. I'd suggest a better quality coffee...I'd pay more for it! Don't have big expectations for the decor, this is just a simple but comfortable, clean place. It can be easy to miss this place unless you're actually looking for it as I've driven by here a few times and have missed it. But I'd recommend you stop by for a great breakfast. I usually only go out for Saturday morning breakfast but this place has popped up on Yelp a few times and since it's closed in Saturday I've not considered it until this morning before heading out to church. I enjoyed their signature dish, The Savory Skillet, since "The world is our skillet". I asked for a small blueberry pancake and they had no problem accommodating my morning craving. I certainly give this place high marks... if out of 10 I'd give a 9.5 based only on the ingredients of the Skillet. Though it tasted great, and even though I'm not a vegetarian, I loved to have more vegetables, perhaps onions, peppers, and even some spinach. But I'm in your place and you are doing great. Solid breakfast and lunch option. Everything's made to order, I had the skillet, which is deep fried hash browns (I prefer grilled), gravy, scrambled eggs n sausage with some bagged cheese on top. I would go the block of cheese and grater approach, YMMV. While I was there someone ordered pancakes with blueberry topping and they didn't have it, but did have fresh blueberries, so I guess they make their own. Most menu items are typical diner fare, peanut butter and jelly stuffed French toast sounded interesting but I wasn't in the mood. Try it! Open Sunday through Friday 7-2. Closed Saturday. read more

Great find this morning! We had the signature skillet and it was perfect. I also had a single blueberry pancake which was great, and when I go back, I'll probably get the full order! We also had the Greek omelet, and it was perfect, with very fresh vegetables! The servings were a little light, but the price reflected this, so no complaints on that. The only thing I'd recommend is for them to have a bigger sign, because I've passed this place many times and never realized it was there. read more

Great find on my way to Cincinnati. I always try to find diners on my road adventures. Pleasant decor, nice fall colors. Great customer service. Seemed to be a favorite of the locals. This is a great little place but rather out of the way -- along route 42, west of Xenia. I had the hearty biscuit breakfast with grits. Light, fluffy biscuits, nice big chunks of sausage in the gravy. Absolutely incredible grits!! Definitely worth the detour! read more

The savory Skillet is a joke! I ordered their catering service to feed 30 people for a company meeting. Unfortunately, they turned us away because "it was too difficult due to it being individualized." Hhheeellllooooo, every person that walks into your restaurant are individualized orders. AND....You should have NEVER advertised that you cater with a menu that IS INDIVIDUALIZED!!! Apparently, they do not want new business as we have company meetings with some other well known companies throughout Dayton and the surrounding areas. read more

I have been very disheartened by my restaurant experience since moving to Dayton in December. This place was finally a breath of fresh air. It is in the middle of no where and doesn't look like much from the outside however it is a lovely little place. We were greeted warmly when we entered. We were served promptly. They serve simple, good food at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this inviting place for breakfast. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try their lunch sometime. read more

Never intended to come here, but when other restaurants were packed, we drove here. The outside makes you second guess your decision but inside is homey and comfortable.
