Oh.... where to begin…read more First of all, I'm writing this review in the hopes that the manager/owner will see it so they know how to improve customer experience. I'm not trying to tear down a little theater. However, my experience was kind of a mess. I bought tickets on Fandango. When we arrived we decided to head straight to the theater for seats. Nobody was checking tickets at all. We walked right in. Because I'm an honest person I had already paid for tickets, but it would literally be the easiest thing to sneak into. (Not that I'm advocating that). We found seats, and the guy next to us said hey the waitresses said there's only 2 of them for all the theaters so if you want popcorn etc it's better to go out to the front and order. So that's what we did. There was a line 4 deep when we got to the ordering line. It was barely moving. The employee said anyone seeing a movie go back to the theater and order from a waitress. Most of the line left. Another person in front of us waited, got fed up, and left. Now we are at the front of the line. And nobody's there. No employees to be seen. I even call out and nobody answers. I finally see the employee and ask him if we can buy popcorn. He says in a minute, he's selling tickets. There's a whole line of people trying to buy tickets and he's the only employee for the snack line and ticket line. I pressed him because we were the only one in the snack line and only wanted popcorn, whereas the ticket line was at least 10+ people. We got the popcorn which somehow was room temperature despite being freshly popped. They also add the butter in with a squirt bottle over top, so there were cold pieces with butter on them and absolutely no butter in the second half of the bowl. While we were waiting, we noticed a gallon of milk out on the counter, a milkshake half prepared, a bunch of customer garbage on the counter next to a cutting board with a half cut lime sitting on it, presumably for someone's mixed drink. All are not recommended practices for safe food handling, if not health code violations. A waitress never came to us in the theater. I did see one, but she never came to anyone in my party - someone stayed behind while we were in line at the bar area and still no option to order in theater. At the end of the movie, no one turned on the lights. We stayed several minutes into the credits and the lights were still dimmed which is a safety hazard. There was a family sitting on the floor because they bought tickets but couldn't get seats. We didn't know what to do with our popcorn bowl at the end of the movie so we left it in the theater since we saw others do the same. It seemed to sum up the night, nothing was really clear, no employees were explaining things, there were not enough employees. We also saw customer trash in a pile on the parking validation desk when we left. Also, they showed several horror movie trailers when the audience was there to see a PG movie. There were several parents/families that were audibly upset that we heard. They were not expecting such graphic/horror trailers as IT 2 to be shown at a PG comedy. Now to end on a positive note: -new seats recline and were comfy -while waiting for snacks I saw a man making pizza, meaning their pizza is freshly made not frozen -the audio was loud but not too loud I wish there was more positives, but honestly I loved the movie and the crowd was great. So I had a good time, but very little of it had to do with the theater itself. But the crowd and movie saved this from being a 1 star review. Also I must note this was a Saturday night, so being this severely understaffed/undertrained is unforgivable. Friday and Saturday are a movies money making days. Someone should've been there to make sure it went well but I never saw any kind of management helping employees or customers.

On a good day, the flea fair is full of vendors and people to sell their items. Last week, they had to turn away vendors because they ran out of spots. The drive-in concession stand is open, though they don't have breakfast food options I could see. Still, it's a good option if you're planning to spend the whole day there. The flea fair runs from 6 AM - 2 PM on Sundays, so it's best to get there early, as it tends to fill up quickly on nice days. Also, keep in mind that bad weather days might mean fewer vendors, so plan accordingly. There is also no indoor flea market option. I highly recommend this flea fair; I always leave with something whenever I go.

Also merchandise. They had one person handling merchandise that was already bought on a sheet with names written in at the same time selling merchandise for people that didn't purchase. Still not bad. Line confusions and no air. Great seats second row. NO AIR. the place was a sweat box. Ran out of water. Had to go downstairs with cash. Now the nasty part. Bathrooms were not flushing and were overloaded with hundreds of little princesses. But no water so upside of no bathrooms working. Seats weee great locationally. Small. Like an airplane overweight person next to me that had most of my seat. Still ok. Did I mention hot. Her deodorant wasn't working as it was. It only got worse. Okay the show absolutely spectacular. If you can see it anywhere else. Do it. They smiled and performed their hearts out in spite of the heat and the lights and the heavy gowns they were amazing. Gave a two hour show. Nonstop singing and dancing. Five plus stars for the performance. ZERO STARS Scranton cultural center. Never again. Don't care if they bring Elvis back from the dead.

The site is really quite well done and is thorough and organized. We learned quite a bit here and we really enjoyed getting a full picture of how the industry developed and thrived in the Scranton area. Because it was officially closed, there were very few people visiting and there was plenty of parking, so that definitely added to my personal enjoyment of the experience. We were able to walk around and enjoy the incredible collection of locomotives and historic rail yard but the star of the collection is the "Big Boy" locomotive. It's one of the largest and most powerful steam engines ever built. It's huge. It was cool to see the massive wheels and be able to read and learn about this amazing machine. This is the second "Big Boy" I have seen and the first was surrounded by a fence, so being able to get up close and personal with this one was exciting. While checking out the trains, a local gentleman who was walking his dog struck up a conversation with us and was very chatty and friendly. He offered suggestions for other places to visit in the area and gave us some great info. Our dogs also enjoyed getting to know each other. It would have been nice if the building had been open and we could have gone inside and learned more, but I'm glad for the private time that I had to enjoy the site and reflect on the beauty of the machines. We probably spent almost an hour walking around the yard with our dog and soaking it all in. You could spend quite a while here even without tours or ticketed exhibits and if you do come, the trolley ride in the area is a must, but that is for a different review...

I highly recommend coming as early in the season as possible. #1 it's more enjoyable when you're not freezing to death. #2 the crowds get worse as the season goes on. There is a chart on the website that shows the busy days - use this!! The first time I came, it was late in the season and I stood in line for 3+ hours and was freezing! Since then, I have learned. Also, bring an extra jacket just in case. Everything is outside and it will get colder as the night goes on. As soon as you park, you get out of the car and are greeted with tall trees and eery music. You feel chills as you walk through the archway as "don't fear the reaper" is heard in the distance. You enter the village and wait in line as creepy figures hover around you. You'll board the wagon and I won't spoil it from there. All i will say is that the acting is on point and is very entertaining. They go all-out with everything and bring all the classics while also featuring new scares too. The blackout building and the new section (area 51 or something) is really really fun. The later is very interactive and the actors will touch you but it's so fun! I like to go once every year or two. It's a little expensive but it's worth it for sure. It's 10x better than any other haunted attraction i've ever been to. You are MISSING OUT if you don't go at least once!
