We slept in the pebble beach room. What a view!!! Nice sunset, looking over the ocean. In the morning they prepare a nice breakfast with fresh fruit, greek yoghurt, cake, bread and eggs, and pancakes. Coffee is per machine which gives everybody a wide variety of flavors and let you decide how strong you'd like your coffee. Then when you're set and prepared for breakfast you can sit outside on the porch (I love porches!!!) or in the garden at the pond. Then again start enjoying. The sunrise, the nice environment and stroll a bit up and down the street afterwards... It's so lovely here. The room itself was nice and comfortable but still a star is missing as we had to shower in the bathtub. Normally that's not a big problem, but as we sere standing in the tub under the roof you have to lean sideways not to bump your head and there is no place to put the shower head. So have to keep it in your hands. So while your standing in the tub, holding the shower head, leaning sideways you also have to wash yourself. I think this is a big minus for everybody taller then 5 ft ;)

I loved sitting on the patio in the morning having coffee and watching the sun rise and seeing the boats going by. The suite had its own entrance and it was easily accessible to the street. The guest house sits on a quiet residential street but it's also walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, front beach and a performance theater. I would definitely recommend the mooring stone guest house.

My wife and I picked this B&B at random while surfing the internet and looking for a place to crash outside of Boston. We lucked out more than I could have hoped for. Mooring Stone takes it name from a large stone in the front yard, the kind they would sink to the bottom of the port with a tree through it so boats could tie up...hence, mooring stone. Anywho... The house is a cute little gingerbread number, clean rooms, quiet, and far enough from the strip of shops and eateries in Rockport that you feel like you're in another town (even though it's just a couple of blocks away). The breakfast part of the equation is served in a salvaged coast guard radio instrument house in the back yard in the middle of a beautiful garden. What really makes the Mooring Stone stand out for me is the proprietor, Joyce. My wife and I hit it off with her within about two minutes of meeting her. She's a veritable fount of information about the area and can point tourists like us in the right direction. Moreover, we had so much fun chatting with her that we ended up spending almost two hours with her at breakfast (followed by a trip with her over to her house on the water at the port to see her renovation project). Sounds crazy, but we had more fun hanging out with her and talking about old New England houses than walking around town. I'm hoping that for our next trip to Boston we eschew staying in town and head back to visit this inn.

The room was clean although the décor a bit dated. We were happy that we actually received a real breakfast! During our stay, the innkeeper had been baking and wonderful aromas filled the entire inn. This scent made the inn feel homey and cozy. Included on site parking was another huge positive. We did not need the car during our stay in Rockport. Everything was in walking distance of the Lantana House.

We loved our room #3 with exposed wood beams in the ceiling and a very comfortable bed. The weather was cool that allowed us to keep our windows open so we could hear the church bell as it chimes hourly. We love Rockport and the Lantana House and would definitely stay again!! The rooms outside deck was spacious and the ocean water lapped on the sand and rocks below. The staff was absolutely great. Friendly, accommodating and competent. The view was of the open ocean, Bears Neck, and back beach. Awesome. The 4th of July Parade walks right by the hotel and the Bonfire is a 30 second walk away. Bears Neck and the many shops, restaurants, lobster pounds, art dealers, jewelers, artist, glass blowers and more is a very short walk away.

With Captain's…read moreBounty, when things went wrong, the hotel became very defensive and denied any accountability, and turned it around and blamed it on the customer. I have been waiting for two weeks for a refund and an explanation/apology, the hotel simply refused to respond. On 07/03/2026, I and my three young children arrived at Captain's Bounty on the Beach for a two night stay for the July 4th weekend. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the reservation because there were wasps inside our room. Specifically, there was a dead wasp on the bathroom floor upon our arrival, which was unacceptable because hotels are expected to check the room right before guest arrival. Disgusted, I immediately picked it up with a tissue and flushed down the toilet. Subsequently, we saw another 6 wasps in total and I was scared that it would fly so I quickly caught it with tissue and flushed down the toilet. I did not think to take a picture for evidence because I and my children were scared. Because the wasps are dangerous and especially my children are young, we did not feel safe to stay for the night and had to cancel the reservation, which was very disappointing as we drove almost two hours to get to the hotel and we were left without a plan for the holiday weekend. I wanted a refund since we had to cancel the reservation for safety reasons. I spoke with the front desk, who immediately insinuated that we wanted to cancel because we didn't have an oceanfront room, which was not the reason for the cancellation; the wasps and our safety was. The hotel has two separate buildings, one is right on the beach, and the other one is across the street next to a historical cemetery. It was not ideal but I would not cancel the reservation just because of that and lose our money. Unfortunately the wasps were just too much for our family to make it work. In the written communication that followed, the hotel kept forcing a point that the location was the reason for the cancellation, while demonstrating no accountability for having wasps in their hotel room, which is a completely unacceptable safety hazard. The hotel also questioned my honesty by pointing out that I took my children to the beach that day. Seeing wasps in the room was a shock and our vacation was not going the way we hoped. We all felt unsafe and disappointed. However as the mother and the only adult, I am responsible for my children and had to make sure they were affected as little as possible. Also I don't tend to act on impulse and usually take my time to think things through before acting. It was a long drive on a hot day and I tried to lighten their mood and let them spend some time at the beach while I thought things through what the best plan was for my family, and the conclusion was that we could not see ourselves sleep in a room with wasps at night. The fact that the hotel uses this against me was absurd and shows the absence of compassion. We paid over $900 for nothing but disappointment and a waste of our family's time. Admitting no fault on their end and refusing to refund our money, the defensiveness the hotel demonstrated is a clear indicator that they do not have customer's best interest at heart and aren't willing to take accountability when they should have. Keep accusing the customer and shifting blame onto the customer is not how a business with integrity should operate. Being treated this unfairly as a consumer, I am deeply disappointed. The hotel kept saying no wasps were found later. But that has NOTHING to do with what we experienced as an individual customer and the hotel has not accepted any responsibility for this. In addition, the hotel was able to rent the room out Saturday night, but still refused to refund my money, which made it even more disappointing. It's easy when everything is smooth. However it's when there is conflict that the true color shows.

Those damn B&B's! Who wouldn't love 'em?…read more The couple drives down the most narrowest street they have ever seen, dodging other cars and pedestrians left and right. Both wonder how much longer of this insane New England little road they will be at until they reach their destination. Then, like the clouds parting to let the sunlight in, it was as if a bright light shined down on the very beautiful Pleasant Street Inn Bed and Breakfast. The couple walks up to meet a young girl who checks them in and shows them to their room. The couple walk into their room and find a quaint and cozy bed with a couch and a private bath. The couple is anxious to relax and unwind. They figure they go and buy a nice bottle of wine to help with their plans for the evening. Low and behold the city of Rockport is a "dry" town meaning the only places to get alcohol is in the next city over and they only sell it at the liquor stores. A Californian in a small fisherman town in Massachusetts with these laws confuse the couple, but they set off on their adventure to find that $10 bottle of wine that they yearned for. About half an hour later, after driving down a one way street they return to their haven of a room at the Pleasant Street Inn where they feel safe and secure with that bottle of wine. The owner of the B&B show them where the wine glasses and and cork screw are and bid them a good night. The next morning the couple awake to a lovely sunrise, with just a small head ache from drinking the full bottle of wine happy to have found such a lovely inn to have stayed at.

I missed breakfast but was told it was really carb-y so if you like protein, move on to one of many charming breakfast joints down the street. Or maybe Lynn will make you a hardboiled egg or a spoonful of PB? She was very gracious and accomodating generally. No shampoo in the room? She'll find some. Great location, totally amazing price. Loved it. Thank you Lynn and staff! i'm rating this as moderate price but for what you get for the price, it's a bargain.

She was helpful, made restaurant recommendations and suggested we take the walking tour of Marblehead. The breakfast was good and the room was pretty spacious. Outside of being in the common areas, I didn't know there was anyone else staying at the inn. My wife and I will definitely be back.
