It appears I didn't take a pic of my room! Probably as I was enjoying it so much. A desk area, nice lighting, many mirrors and a very compact but laid out well bathroom. The history is fascinating- as the front desk for the printout on its story! We did some exploring and went a floor down from the lobby as well as up to the ballrooms... lots of old opulence. Thee is a coffee shop, restaurant and bar area. Valet is timely for our in and out usage.

I was traveling for work, and decided to stay at the Seelbach as it was pretty comparable in price to some other local hotels. The pictures made it look really interesting, and it was good for a one night stay. Even if you don't stay here, I highly recommend walking in looking around the property and trying to find the speakeasy in the basement. The art architecture, and history of the building is really unique. The room was pretty comfy. You could tell it was somewhat updated, but still had the old school flair. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. My main issue was with the noise levels. Unfortunately, my room was just across the hallway from the elevators, and you could hear everything in the door. If people were talking outside, I could hear their full conversation. It would be nice if the hotel supplied noise machines for light sleepers, as I've gotten in hotels in the past. Overall, I don't feel like I have to come back and stay here again, but it was cool to spend one night there

Built during the Gilded Age this hotel is a real gem. I love all the detail that went into restoring her. The history is so interesting. The actual rooms are nicely appointed and have modern amenities. On the small size but we don't stay in the room except to sleep. 99% of the staff I encountered and engaged with were awesome. Only 1 bad apple was less than helpful. Location is close to many attractions and within a mile of some fantastic restaurants. Valet service was efficient and housekeeping were so friendly. Would have loved to get a tour of all the historic rooms ( Oak room, ballroom, etc) but " bad apple" was less than accommodating. I will not deduct any stars for this one off as all the others were outstanding. If you are in the area I highly recommend staying here.

Historic masterpiece filled with history and a perfect location. Accommodations / rooms are a little dated, but that is expected given it is trying to preserve its historic nature. Read up on this place, it's worth staying for the experience!! Staff was ok, with a great bar / restaurant though the prices are a little high and they were out of a few menu items. Of and my waitress forgot I requested the check because she was so busy. Front desk staff was nice. The decor is extremely nice / historic. More than once I passed through the lobby and people / tourists were in the lobby taking pics.

Let me preface this by saying I travel for work almost 3 weeks out of every month. This hotel is outrageously expensive for what it is. The rooms are so old and outdated. Nothing has been updated in over 20 years. There's a damp moldy smell in the rooms. And you feel like the elevators are going to break at any moment for more than $400 a night I expect so much more. I can't speak to the food, because I didn't go into their one restaurant.

I arrived here, Monday, Presidents' Day, and was graciously greeted. This hotel is steeped in history, and there are probably even some spirits running around. It is the perfect location for downtown Louisville, and everything is walkable from here.

Staying at the The Seelbach Hilton Louisville downtown. It's beautiful. Just a note that you can't get in the back entrance without a card or app Hilton App checkin. There was a speaker button but it didn't seem to work. I had to walk around and go in the front. If you valet, it wouldn't really be a problem. I stayed in Room 634 that had a King Bed. I thought the room was classic and beautiful. The bed was comfy and loved those pillows. I even looked at the tag thinking I would love these on my bed. Bathroom had a tub with shower, and tile flooring. Carpeted room with desk, sitting chair, closet, night stand, and dresser. I would add the TV could use updating. Some downsides are I had issue with the Wi-Fi which was really annoying. It kept disconnecting and I would have reconnect many, many times during the stay. Also, my room was a connecting room and was divided by double doors. The guest in the room next to me has set an alarm at 6:30am and let it go for 13 minutes. It was ridiculous. I was planning on sleeping in and that was a rude awakening. Breakfast was good. Diamond and Gold members can dine in the concierge lounge on the 7th floor. That was fun and great service! Shout out to Ronza! She was great. They had the traditional items such as cereals, bagels, muffins, eggs, potatoes, sausage, and bacon. The also had a variety of soft drinks, justices, and coffee's. I did ask for a late checkout since it is my last day. The hotel was able to offer a noon time (11am usually), but Diamond member can typically go to 1 or even 2 based on the property. That was fine but I will also add that checkin is a late in at 4pm. I was able to get in early as I did the pre-checkin and room selection before arrival and the app notifies you when your room is ready. I recommend this option if wanting to get in early. The hotel is gorgeous so make sure to check it all out. Don't forget about the lower level and the Rathskeller too. I got to sneak a peak inside. Overall a nice stay and a beautiful historic hotel full of charm. There was nothing memorable about the front desk and was disappointed with the interactions being a "luxury" hotel. Upon getting parking, water, and a back up physical room keys I felt like I wasn't welcomed there and an annoyance. Not so much as a thank you for staying or being a Hilton Honors member, etc. I will say other experiences like with Virginia (with guest services) and Ronda were exceptional. I am also a fan of the digital key from the app was great here for all access, you need a card for doors and elevators, bathroom, and such. All in all a good stay in a beautiful hotel. I would recommend staying here for the charm and beauty of this historic hotel.

The only real impact was that the bathroom was split into a toilet room and a separate shower room, with a hall in between. Completely manageable, just a little odd. We were more put out that they'd not mentioned the change at all. We were also placed on the 4th floor, immediately above very busy and very loud main street. I've never been a fan of soft water, and they do treat the water, so bring a scrubber if you want to get clean in the shower. Several of the doors in the suite are sliding barn doors, which can be a bit loud and unwieldly. The room could be kept dark and cold and the bed was comfortable, so ok for a good night's sleep, they just lack any good foam pillows which we prefer. Failed to connect our device to the TV - the HDMI ports are accessible, but the TV throws some error message when trying to use another device and the message can't be closed without unplugging the device and restarting the TV. At least they have Netflix. An attractive hotel, I liked the style of the place, and the prohibition repeal theme. Just too many bumps to get them to 5 stars. At least there are several alternative high end hotels convenient to downtown.

Not much room for more than the bed, shower, and restroom. You definitely don't want to have 2 people. There's no place to lounge at all. My housekeeper didn't come a couple days I was there. My bed was never made up. But, I did come back to some fresh towels. We only stayed here because a group of us came from California for the Cal-Louisville game. Had I known the rooms were this small, I would have stayed elsewhere. But, I understand that this is their "thing," so I can't fault the hotel. If you're looking to save a little and don't mind a small room, this is a good spot. But, is your tastes are more for a larger room, stay away.

If you're going to charge guests $36 for breakfast, don't advertise it as "on us" or complimentary. Just be honest about your pricing. I expected transparency from this hotel, and instead got a confusing billing practice that left a bad taste - and not just from the overpriced food.
