As a guy, I obviously don't bring in the typical dresses or gowns for alterations. My needs are usually very different such as adding metal loops to my insulated overalls to secure a shoulder holster, or fabricating heavy duty fabric straps to limit the opening of my snowcat's doors. Despite my atypical requests, Katelynn never hesitates to take them on with a smile on her face. She repeatedly does a fantastic job with these heavy duty applications of her sewing skills, while also easily doing a great job on completing standard alterations to my heavy leather coats as well. Katelynn is an incredible seamstress!!! I had 6 pairs of Carhartt work pants that needed hemming and for the legs to be taken in. Katelynn went the extra mile including multiple fittings to make sure they all fit great! It was worth every penny. I also found her shop to be very welcoming. read more

I do not recommend ! After I bought my wedding dress, on a third party recommendation I went to Katleynn to get my dress altered. At the start she seems very nice and easy to work with. At the last dress fitting she helped me into my dress. My dress felt and looked nice and seems to be okay. She had me try to sit to see if the dress was fitting right and everything's seems fine at the time . At my wedding day my bridesmaids help me into my dress, and again everything felt and seems good. After the ceremony when walking down the aisle with my new husband, my dress opened completely for all my guests to see . Extremely embarrassed I ran to the bathroom and had my bridesmaids tell me that my dress zipper had failed, I asked them what about the loops and bottoms on the back, and they said there was no loops. This was the first time I learned that the loops had been removed from the back of the dress. An atttempt was made to sew the dress up to last the rest of the night but was unsuccessful and it opened again . When I bought my dress, my understanding was the buttons and loops on the back were there to take stress off the zipper and hold the weight of the fabric. I contact the lady that sold me the dress and she confirmed that was the purpose of the buttons and loops. I Contacted Katleynn to tell her what had happened , after multiple messages and over a week she finally responded to me. She immediately placed all the blame on me and wouldn't take any responsibility for what happened. When asked why she didn't communicate with me about removing the loops, she said they were rotten, couldn't be saved and again placed blame on me because I signed off on the dress at the last fitting . While I should have thoroughly looked over my dress I was relying on her to be honest ,communicate with me and her expertise. The point of this review is that her alterations without my knowledge and lack of communication made my dress fail and caused me massive Embarrassment. I would not recommend you go to her because of her lack of empathy, taking zero responsibility for what happened and putting all the blame on me . read more

I'd like to respond to your photos that were posted, Ms. Caitlin. In the photo that I responded that it looked good, I could not tell that it wasn't laying flat. And also, please note that the blanket was laid directly on the "floor" that people walk on with nothing to protect it underneath. When I received the blanket it had a dirty gray smudge. I also figured out why the backing wouldn't fit. I had ironed the edging of the flannel and said that it needed to be sewn on like that--which was only about an 1/8" fold. You obviously did not remember that because on the left and right side, you folded the edge an inch and why it no longer fit. I don't wish you ill will and hope the best for your future. Katelynn is a miracle worker. I took in a couple pairs of jeans to be altered into cross over jeans, a pair of pants to have holes repaired and a top where the inside arm had been stitched incorrectly.
