Absolutely horrible experience. I was so excited to continue remodeling our home by replacing the window treatments throughout. I chose The Shade Store because I thought they would provide quality products with excellent installation. Wow was I wrong. I experienced communication issues, defected shades, see through liners for what should be blackout shades in a nursery, multiple installation issues and more. 4 months later and I am still left with defective shades that honestly look terrible. They offered me less than 10% compensation for the issues I experienced. I asked to speak to a manager and no one made the effort to call me. I received an email with a meaningless sum of money and no explanation. The Shade Store products are not worth the time or the money. read more

I'm only giving two stars as the staff in the store are so nice. The quality of the product leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully they do guarantee satisfaction which is a good thing but it took almost 5 months from the start of the project , from beginning to end to get my refund. It took way to many phone calls to customer service to get the refund. I don't know what corporate is thinking. Inferior product and poor corporate customer service. This is a good store! I have had 14 shades put in all over my house from the Shade Store... door shades and window shades of all sizes. I have had them in place for 7 years. If there is ever a problem or minor adjustment to be made (which is rare) I call and receive a response immediately! Their service guys are prompt, courteous and capable. Our brand new house desperately needed some window treatments. Our house was complete in March of 2021but we delayed our window treatments because we were unsure of what to buy. After a failed attempt with an interior designer we decided that we could do it on our own. I googled custom window treatments and found The Shade Store. I was drawn to this site because it allowed us to order unlimited free samples, no questions asked. This was super helpful. We proceeded to basically order every sample in every style that was offered. After making our selections we were connected with Heather Z. She made a big difference in our buying decision. She walked us through the whole process (and beyond). Her knowledge helped steer us away from selections that would not have been ideal for our busy household and pointed us towards selections that were perfect and practical. We live in upstate New York, so we had some other proximity challenges that were met head on. After our big purchase we were assigned a virtual measure. At first I was skeptical, but Jim S. (our virtual tech) was able to help us every step of the way. He was patient while I battled my tape measure, he ensured we kept our window measures organized and in order, and we always measured twice to be sure. With their assistance, any DYI novice could tackle the measuring process. Most importantly, I never felt rushed. After the measurement we were given sketches of how our window treatments would look. We snapped photos of our windows and they did the rest. We had them sketch up several different options before landing on the perfect look. Fast forward a few weeks for processing and shipping, we now have our beautiful shades hung and the days of living in a fishbowl are over.
