Definitely think twice before contacting this business, or prepare yourself for a lifetime of endless solicitations - for all eternity. Many years ago we foolishly called and asked them a few questions about refinancing our home. We ended up going through our bank instead (smart move). But our contact information will be forever burned into their whack ass soliciting departments harassment list, apparently. We regularly get unsolicited calls, voice-mails, text messages and emails from this group, regularly. We have never used this companies services, and never will. I have called (multiple times) and asked to be removed from their solicitor call list, I have replied "STOP" to unsubscribe from their middle of the night text messages, I have emailed them multiple times begging them to stop harrassing me. It's of no use. They will forever fill my voice-mail box with their fake/friendly pre-recorded garbage about how low interest rates are right now. If I ever need to refinance my mortgage or buy another property, it certainly won't be through these clowns. Zero stars. Negative stars even. read more

I am afraid our experience with this team was less than stellar. They are the recommended lender for a builder in this area and as a realtor, I knew it was not in our best interest to just go with someone you did not know or have a relationship with. In order to expedite the process I went ahead and used them instead of BECU. We were recently retired and had a home to sell but did not go contingent on this purchase. We knew from our research that we could use our retirement investments, drawing income to support this purchase. From the minute items were requested, we were on it. Providing copies when requested, always in a timely manner. Throughout the process we were told one thing, then told another, asked repeatedly for documents already submitted. Often reassured that everything was fine, yet amounts and supporting data were continually changed. Additionally, specific answers given to questions I had asked were often changed a few days later. All the time, being assured that everything was fine and we would close on time (which we did not). Being in the industry, I had contacts in mortgage companies that were very experienced in dealing with retirement situations. We knew what many companies expected, however, Cross Country and the Shane McGraw Team consistently misinformed us on needed amounts and documentation, up to and including whether the closing amount and method of payment. In their defense, both they and the title company indicated that a cashier's check was ok until it was given and then they said, sorry, need electronic funds and the amount is wrong. Yes, ultimately, we closed and they did credit a bit for their error. However, I would caution you all that they perhaps know how to handle standard situations but may not be the best choice for anything outside the box. Finally, I feel that they may have vented to our builder as he made the comment that he had "heard about the problems and that we were not educated in the difficulties of providing a loan for our case". To this day, six months later, our builder has been very stand-offish on any follow up needs....completely unprofessional of all parties. I am sure there will be a response to this review from Cross Country Mortgage/Shane McGraw and it is highly possible that as a realtor I am more critical than those who don't know what the proper process should be. **Update** The email address I had was from an old business. When I emailed in April my email went no where. I received a call from Shane himself. He will look into the phone issue. He is going to personally handle my case. That's great because I will not work with anyone else. Terrible! Cannot get an email answered or a phone call completed. I emailed twice in April. No response. Then I attempted to call this morning. Went through the prompts and the automated service hung up on me. Can't leave a message. Then I call again and picked a different phone prompt option. Nope. Still go the automated "good-bye" and hung up on. Still can't leave a message. There are far too many other mortgage companies that service Vets that this kind of poor communication is not tolerated. I will find someone else that will answer my emails and phone calls. read more

My family has worked with Shane multiple times. We had the most complicated purchase ever and we own a lot of properties. Shane was able to come up with very complex solution to a wide variety of problems. He consistantly thinks out of the box and for me that is worth so much more than what other teams I have worked with. We have liked them so much that even though i have moved across the nation we still look to Shane and his team for further relationship building. In this instance I was looking at doing a refinance or possibly selling and his advice was not the typical advice i would have thought i would have received.
