I spend a lot of time in the kitchen butchering, cutting, chopping and of course, cooking. So my knives need to be up to par to keep up with my culinary adventures. Jason has renewed/restored my entire sent of 8 knives plus my kitchen sheers. He has a weekly booth at the Marietta Sq farmers market and will sharpen your knives while you wait. Many years after having my knives destroyed by this coming I got the message in the attached image from the new owner telling my not to put my knives in the dishwasher. It's good to know the new ownership is continuing in the same level of customer service as the previous owner. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. We got all our knives sharpened yesterday by The Sharpener. Honing steels and sharpening blocks will only get you so far. Eventually with enough wear and tear a new edge needs to be put on your blades with a belt and grinder. Jason does great work, took maybe all of 30 minutes, and all our knives are good as new and notch free! It was so easy to make an appointment and his prices are very reasonable, plus he came to our house! You can't beat that! A couple years ago I royally messed up my husband's favorite Wusthoff chef knife by trying to cut through a bone-in Boston Butt. It broke a 1/4" notch in the blade. I didn't think it was fixable, but Jason was able to fix it and made it look good as new. He's at the Marietta Square Farmer's Market on Saturdays, or he will come to your house for a $50 min. Aside from knives/kitchen tools they can do scissors, yard tools, and clipper blades. Totally worth it and recommended! Here's a couple of pictures showing what an improvement it made. read more

Wow! Took several of our favorite kitchen chef knives (Wolfgang Puck and Rachel Ray) for sharpening. When we picked up our knives they we're filthy (they we're not cleaned after sharpening) which I guess is no big deal but if you had seen how absolutely filthy these words you would have been pretty grossed out. I will try their services again but we will see what the outcome is as to whether not I will be a regular. read more

While spending a Saturday morning at the Marietta Square Farmers Market I was surprised to see that I could get my knifes sharpened too!!!. Even better, Travis comes to your home. I had a mower blade, scissors and a couple of knives. I paid $70.00 for everything, well worth it. How nice not to have buy new ones when I can have someone come to my house and sharpen them. Travis is pretty awesome - after he did an excellent job sharpening two blocks of knives for my family (AND delivered!) I had him sharpen some of my grooming shears. I waited until the last minute and dropped them off to his brick-and-mortar late on a Tuesday, and he had them done AND delivered to my office by noon on Wednesday. Well, I can't speak to the quality of their work since I was never able to get him to engage enough to complete the task. I saw him at the Marietta Farmer's Market one Saturday and asked for a card. First I emailed the email on the card to no response. After two weeks I called the number and he answered. He requested that I text my name, address and needs to the number and he would respond after 3pm. It's been over a week and I've yet to hear from him. If he can't respond to communication via his requested mode then I doubt he would show up for an appointment, nor would I trust my knives to him. His card is going in the trash!! read more

Typically hurting oneself isn't grounds for an all-star review, but this is a special case. We had our kitchen knifes sharpened here in January. On Super Bowl Sunday, I was making a salad and was super-impressed by how easy it was to slice up carrots, tomatoes, and other goodies. I was nearly done and decided to slice up the spinach a bit. I was a bit too antsy to finish up and didn't pay attention like I should have. I sliced a sliver of my thumb off. It hurt no more than a bad paper cut, but I did have to go to the emergency room. The slice was clean and the damage was minimal. If I had done this before the sharpening, I know my wound would have been worse. The doctor was even impressed with how clean the cut was! read more
