We began with a shortlist of companies, but as we progressed through the selection process, several were eliminated for various reasons. We discovered Royal Remodeling & Design through a Google search and decided to stop by their Main Street showroom without an appointment. From the moment we walked in, Stan welcomed us as though we were repeat customers. He spent nearly an hour answering our questions, discussing our project, and helping us understand the remodeling process. We told him ours was not a large kitchen, although we wanted a complete renovation. Stan assured us no job was too small for them. By the end of that meeting, we had scheduled a visit to our condo for Stan to see it first-hand. After seeing our existing kitchen, Stan developed an initial design for us to review. We requested several changes that differed from his original vision. Rather than trying to persuade us otherwise, Stan emphasized that it was our kitchen and that we were the ones who would be living with it. His philosophy was simple: he would design and build the kitchen that best suited our needs and preferences. We found that approach very reassuring. The quality of their cabinets and granite is very high and their prices are VERY affordable. The owner, Julie, is thorough, meticulous, and collaborates to make designs work well. Her staff are courteous, hard-working, and knowledgeable. My only qualm is the occasional language issue as English is not Julie's first language. But that is part of the adventure. These are not cheap construction cabinets. These are well-designed, well-constructed, solid wood with slow closing hinges and dovetail joints. However, Unique Kitchen & Bath sells them for less than the big box stores. Skip Home Depot and Lowe's and go talk with Julie. One last suggestion: If you are at handy, you can save money by assembling the cabinets yourself.

Simply the Best!…read more Simply the Best! When was the last time you heard that about a contractor? Well Alpha Kitchen Design (Isaque the owner) is the best to work with. I got four quotes to renovate my kitchen last year and chose Alpha because of what seemed like a fair estimate (not the lowest but not the highest), good quality cabinets and the fact that Isaque knew and cared about what we wanted to do. I also liked the fact that he is a "stone" guy and loves the beauty of natural stone counters. Isaque and his team did not disappoint. Of particular note are his plumber and tile guys who are top notch. They came when they said, and did the work they said they would do on time and within budget. Isaque kept me in the loop as I was out of town when the renovation was occurring, including me only when necessary about potential issues which he always worked out with great judgement and professionalism. The last and probably best compliment you can give someone is that I used his services again to remodel my guest bath this year. Again, Isaque and his team worked with me to make sure everything was covered. There were naturally a couple of "surprises" which Isaque handled with ease going above and beyond in some cases. What learned, is that not all remodelers include permits, painters, etc., thus add'l expense. Alpha's price was all inclusive. Isaque did allow us to purchase a few things outside of our contract, like sink, faucet, wine refrig., and the hardware, which we found at less cost. All of the subs go through him. I'll admit the kitchen was a mess for six weeks, but once everything started getting installed, it went very quickly. Despite so many things being on B/O today, all our cabinets arrived promptly. To our surprise and delight, there was only one follow-up call required. All the trades people were professional, clean, and respective. We are enjoying the abundance of (new) cabinets, the style, layout, and especially the quartz countertop. Isaque listened to our ideas and did not try to oversell us. The contract was very detailed with cost per line item, easy to follow. We appreciate the quality of the cabinets (Jarlin and FGT). All soft close, and all with pull-outs, top AND bottom. Isaque is very detail-oriented and wants to make his customers happy. Indeed, he did with us. He is very personable, attentive, and shows up for all appts.
