I used two companies in Sarasota the first one was really bad, so i went onto Doctor Blinds. I read the bad view, and that review was i am sure how that lady felt. You can't judge one review and think that is the way Doctor Blind is run, Doctor Blind has mostly all great reviews, THE BAD REVIEW ( singular) did not have a perfect day or perfect order. Everything doesn't go right everyday everyday day after day. So the one client who had a bad experience happened top be the one deal that did not happen they way everyone wanted too. I had Doctor blind do over $58000 dollars of blinds thru my home and garage. I trusted them because of what happened about year before. I needed to have some blinds cut down to another size, everyone i called said go to Doctor Blind. So i headed over and dropped off may blinds. The company was in the middle of moving and it took longer then we both thought it would, Doctor Blind called and said he was so sorry for being late but, the blinds were done and i could pick them up. To my surprise there was no charge for the service because they were late being done, ok so i took the blinds home. The next surprise was a few days later when i opened the blinds up something fell out of the box, i picked it up and it was a note from Brain saying how sorry he was missing a deadline and he put a $50.00 check in the box for my trouble. So let me get this Right Brian did not charge me for the work, and gives me a 50.00 check to boot !!!! Wow who does that. Fast forward a year or so I built a new house and need some killer blinds. Guess who i called, Brain i knew i could totally trust him. I wanted the best shades and every blind to go up and down automatically too. I was totally bummed out when Brian told me Hunter Douglas did not make blinds big enough to cover my 12 ft sliding glass doors. Brain told me he had an idea how we could get the job done, He called Hunter Douglas and told them i need two more ft to reach the floor, Brian again was told sorry they do not have anything. Brian wanted to get my home what was needed, so he called Hunter Douglas again and asked if we sign a release that the blinds built the way we wanted would not has any warranty, would they build them, and they said yes. So now i have a totally custom blind sets that Hunter Douglas said would not work, working like a charm, because Brian blind knows his blinds. It's only because Brain has the years of experience did i get my dream blinds. You will not find anyone with more experience in this industry, Yes we had problems getting blind but that was because Hunter Douglas if you missed up my order three time, if you want to bitch about anything bitch to Hunter Douglas they have so much business it seemed the customer has to wait for any reaction from them, at the end it all worked out since Brain went to bat for my project that Hunter Douglas said would never work. Hi, my name is Amanda and I am the office assistant at DoctorBlind and our regulars know me quite well. It is a pleasure to not only work for Brian but also to work with all of you. I had major spinal surgery march 2017 due to a guy running a stop sign and totaling my car.. and not even 3 months post op, another guy total my car and damaged the area i just had surgery on and more. They ended up giving me 9 injections in my spine and then they began me back in Physical Therapy 4 days a week. So between doctor appts and PT, I have not been able to work as much as i would like... Brian has not been the only one who has been understanding while i undergo many medical issues, but our clients too. They have been so understanding with the difference in hours or me not being there, and i cant tell you how much I appreciate it. Unfortunately I know some clients were not quite as understanding, but none the less I tried very hard to accommodate everyone the best I could. I couldn't be more pleased with the work Dr. Blind did with our motorized solar shades. While the unassuming showroom is not the most glamorous in the area, they more than make up for it with their vast selection and technical expertise. I was seeking new shades to be retro-fitted into an existing system. Several outlets I visited told me it couldn't be done even though the original installer (now retired) told me that it could. Brian at Dr. Blind not only said that its could, he seemed to welcome the challenge. He gave me what I thought was a fair price and, most importantly, an accurate timeframe for delivery. As so often happens with any retro-fit, there were surprises at the time of installation resulting from old equipment and older technology. He rose to the challenge, didn't increase our price and the resulting shades have transformed our space. Brian, the owner, came out personally and showed us some of the Hunter Douglas products that were available, we decided on the Powerview duolite shades in the duette line. they were installed in 5 rooms with blackout shade and sheer. The motorized blinds that have been installed into our new home are fantastic. Brian, the owner, came out and personally supervised the the final measure and installation of our blinds. It was not cheap, but I must say it was worth it. We purchased Hunter Douglas duettes with powerview motors for 9 openings, 4 of which were 21' in the air. They provided their own scaffolding for the install and meticulously assembled and deconstructed without an issue. All of it runs off of a power box in our attic, really cool stuff!
