Brilliant service and friendly staff. The coffee is exceptional (they roast their own) and the food compliments it all perfectly.

Coffees are spot on, go a standard flatty, capp, long black - or go one of the revolving and evolving single origins with a pour over.

What a little daydream this spot is!…read more It's a vintage, hipster cafe with a furniture store attached. Not sure if they sell actual antiques or things that look beautiful and old. This place is famous with locals, I stopped by after a real estate listing bragged that the house was near local favourite, Nowhere Cafe. There's just that kind of vibe here." And she's right. The two mornings I've been to Nowhere this week have been broken up by locals dropping in and out being spoken to by name and hearing updates of their lives, their children and more. It's a very similar vibe to when you visit Antonia and Brad at PUK Espresso in Kangaroo Point. It's this that makes your Mambo coffee that much sweeter. They're still waiting on a food licence, so for now, it is a selection of cakes and some sandwiches. There's complimentary Wi-Fi too and a kitchen table in the shop next door perfect for a work session surrounded by beautiful things.

With the new renovation of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre comes a cafe like Foundry and on looks alone, blows out of the water the idea of what a shopping centre cafe "should be." They're pouring locally roasted coffee, Dramanti and the service is speedy. I ordered a Flat White and found it was far too milky for my liking. Note: my liking. Coffee is such a personal preference and on this occasion, I ordered wrong. Knowing the Dramanti Beans, I should have gone for a piccolo or long black with hmos. There's also the welcome surprise that all the food in their small display cabinet, right down to the bagels, is gluten free. Glutards UNITE!

I ordered a medium (mug) dirty chai and a turkey, brie and chutney bagel. Mum ordered a small capp, they didn't use the farmer's milk but that's okay I guess, not everyone's on board yet! The dirty chai was made pretty well though and it tasted pretty good with the soy milk they used. They ask for your name when you order and had heaps of people working on the machines. It was crazy busy. We managed to grab a small table at the very end and waited for a short while. It was pretty great. We got our bagel much later though and the (manager, I think) offered us another coffee on the house and apologised. It was all good though. We knew they were super busy and the gesture was more than enough. The bagel was pretty nommy... but probably not the greatest idea when I'm drinking a heavy dirty chai! They used real turkey! Nomnomnom! It was so good and totally appreciate it when restaurants and cafes use real ingredients!

On a recent inspired Sunday, remembering hearing many good things about Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters, which calls the old Rainworth General Store home, friends and I gathered and spent a leisurely breakfast. For the first time in many moons I looked at the menu with genuine excitement. Of course there's the obligatory cafe items, and comforts with modern twists like a fig glazed ham and cheese toastie, but then it's mixed with surprise additions like a green tea soba noodle salad (yes I went there for breakfast), splashes of kimchi and a tumeric iced chai latte. Tumeric is so 2016 it hurts. As the cafe filled with weekend brunch hunters, we were never rushed as our group of four grazed through our breakfast and stayed on for another round of coffee. Coffee while we're talking that is roasted by the cafe and consistently turned out a exceptional cup both as a long black and flat white. Add in the chat we had with one of the owners about the history of the building and their discoveries of old advertising signs as they renovated the space and you've got me giving this local gem two thumbs up. Pro Tip: there's heaps of space in the back room for prams and kids (especially out in the back vege garden) and for those of us dog loving cafe hoppers - the four-legged patrons are welcomed with ample footpath seating.

This place gets an exception. First visit, I know this place is going to be hugely popular. The put your name on a list and wait 45 minutes popular. The owner could tell we were coffee drinkers, so brought us over some cold drip to compare with the iced filter we had bought. The only downside - the building seems to get quite hot.

The views are simply spectacular - I visited for breakfast at around 8.30am and enjoyed an incredible view across Brisbane and all the way up to the Pacific Ocean, all of which was sparkling in the sunshine. There is no table service at Kuta, so you go to the counter to order and pay for your food. The breakfast offerings include eggs, toast, waffles and fruit. I had avocado on toast with poached eggs, and enjoyed my meal - the eggs were runny (though slightly overdone) and the avocado was pretty fresh. The toast was pretty hard though and the coffee wasn't the best, but it was a decent enough meal. My sister didn't quite agree, as her fruit plate came with the grapes still on the stalk, and with parsley sprinkled all over the fruit(?!). Little touches like fresh pepper rather than the powdered variety would have been great, but hey it's a café not a restaurant. The real draw to this place, though, is the view. The food is not spectacular, but I can hardly imaging a better location for a stunning breakfast just 20 minutes outside of a city. For this reason alone, I would definitely return to the Kuta Café, and highly recommend it to both tourists and Brisbane residents alike.

During winter the hot chocolate is popular, during summer the ice creams are popular, this place is open most the day and some of the night so take advantage of it. Prices are the cheapest and they tailor to a lot of tourist groups going through the mountain, in fact a lot of their business depends on it, and thrives on it at the same time. It's got outdoor seating and indoor seating as well as a gift shop, but I recommend the outdoor seating. The view is just magnificent. It's the place to grab your drink and have your snack if you've hiked up the mountain from Chapel Hill... it's a good 30-45 minute trek and you may even bump into people horseback riding. Great little spot, more for morning and night people, the lunch isn't the greatest, but the nachos aren't too bad at all.
