This relatively young 8 month old cafe makes a wonderful addition to the already lively Honour Ave cafe strip. It has a very contemporary design, chic in a mostly white fit-out and very airy and light with the wide open entrance. There are a few tables available inside the premise, however a little dim inside. When it is a nice sunny day, dining here would have to be most enjoyed out in their alfresco space. Outside the tables line the outer rim of this cafe, which sits on the corner of Bank Road and Honour Avenue. If you have a dog you can bring them here to sit well behaved beneath the table, or tie them to a post in front of the cafe, so long as you are fine with random walker-bys to OOH and AHH at your little buddy.
I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch here recently. It is counter service so make sure you don't wait around for them to approach, just go up to the counter and order/ pay and take your assigned table number. I ordered the tuna on organic bread. It was delicious. The softness of the tuna in contrast with the seeds and crunch from the toasted organic bread made this fare a delight. There was no overpowering tuna flavour which is good and the other fillings consisted of a mix of various salad leaves. For my hot drink I had a large cappuccino. Their coffee is organic as well as the sugar sachets on the tables. Actually, I might as well note, most of their produce used are organic. I was informed by one of the waitstaff that most of their produce is sourced locally. Most within the Graceville area itself, as well as other friendly organic grocers around Brisbane.
The waitstaff were very nice and friendly. I noticed, however, that they are not yet fully versed in what savoury item they had. I either caught her off guard, or she just had no idea that the sandwich in the display was a tuna sandwich. Not really a problem, but they might want to consider knowing what they have incase a patron asks. Just saying. Their service otherwise, was very pleasant and timely.
My experience here has always been during the peak times of the weekend and so far, it has been a very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place to try out for a relaxing and refreshing brunch on a Sunday. read more
