Old school punk/rock bar in downtown Eureka. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet. The barkeep asked if I was a veteran (I am) so they knocked off a couple of bucks from my tab. I liked the ambience and the beer. Sunday is board games until the live band comes in. read more

I really enjoyed my first visit to Siren's Song! While the tavern is small and intimate, I still felt like I had space to maneuver without feeling cramped. Bar seating is fairly limited, but there are a few tables on the floor as well as some couch/lounge areas. There is a somewhat classy, somewhat rustic industrial vibe to this place that with it's red drape curtains and bar set-up, makes one feel like they might actually be on board a pirate ship. I attended a special event here, and there was so much going on - live music, presenters, an artist painting in the middle of all the commotion. The liveliness of it all made me feel like I was at a bar in a much larger city like Portland or San Francisco. I was served fairly quickly at the bar, and my drink was great (an alcoholic ginger beer). I'd definitely come back as I'm curious to see what the ambiance is like when there isn't a special event going on. From what I've experienced, however, Siren's Song is a fun spot! read more

My wife and I enjoyed the vibe it had. We're from out of town visiting some family here. Marco was super chill and pretty friendly from point of view. We mentioned being from Indy and he gave us some suggestions on what to do here in this small town. He was very attentive and even gave us a live performance! I had the best time of my adult life with my very good friends Tim and Marissa one night at the Tavern, we saw this crazy old town New Orleans band that night, we saw Albanie Falettra, just right before the pandemic on Sept. 11, 2019. A cool local beer pub/tavern located in old town. We happened in here one late afternoon after spending the day running errands around town. Siren's Song was just the ticket. Lots of choices to drink and a comfortable adult environment. This bar has a very knowledgeable staff, and the owner is often on hand during business hours. We sat at the bar and I had a couple cold brews while the wife found a glass of wine that she thoroughly enjoyed. This tavern has a really nice selection of both bottle and tap beers available from a wide variety of locales. Some interesting often obscure bottle beers can be had here, and they even have a nitro tap set-up. The afternoon of our visit I had an amazing nitro porter that was full bodied, rich and thick a great porter brew. From the signage all around this pub and on the windows and front door - they have a great variety of live music or live entertainment most nights as well. Hallelujah - Humboldt finally has a great craft beer bar and bottle shop! PLUS, ciders (of the alcoholic variety), espresso, and good food (from what I hear). It's a nice departure from the (great) breweries that have dominated this region thus far. I am getting computer work done here at 7:30 on a Saturday evening (blah), and their latte is good, wifi fast, and atmosphere cozy and friendly. Everyone else is understandably drinking beer, and their selection is excellent - several varieties on tap and more bottles than I've seen in this neck of the woods before. I'd definitely recommend coming in for a visit - it's a sweet little place. Tall ceilings, exposed brick, couches, a nice bar, and plenty of decent sized tables. I'm hoping to get done early enough to enjoy an adult beverage ... I'd definitely meet folks here for drinks in the future. Hopefully locals embrace it as the opportunity it is! read more

As far as local beer bars go, this is an excellent example of it being done right! The place is very committed to being an integral part of the community, and they make a solid effort to provide entertainment and services that everyone can appreciate. They only serve beer, cider, and wine, but they have a nice selection of each. The taps swap out rather frequently, so there's always something new to sample and enjoy. Small plates are available, check the chalk board for availability. Open layout space. Up front by the windows is the stage (to your right when you walk in the front door). Bathroom is by code only. Don't be fooled by the high reviews on this page, they're all old reviews from when they previous owner owned it. This used to be one of the best bars in Eurkeka with a wide selection of great drinks and always a good chill vibe. Great music and events were happening all the time, you can catch some live music still but seems like paranormal mic nights by the so called comedian working there is the main event. The current guy and gal running it always make sure you feel unwelcome the moment you step up to the bar, whether its giving attitude over you wanting to pay with a card or asking for the code to the restroom which is for the whole public building it's in. You must hand over cash before you get the code. They offer snacks and food but are often "too busy" to make (they offer ramen packets and the bar can be dead when asking). They also don't pay attention to who was waiting first, I've seen people waiting for long periods of time while some person who just walked in gets helped first. Spend your money and time at any other bar in Old Town. read more

First off the decor is AMAZING! I go to a lot of Savage Henry's comedy shows and this is my favorite venue. It's so comfortable and clean. The artwork is FANTASTIC! They support local art and usually have some pretty amazing pieces up for sale. The owners seriously have an eye for detail because even their plants are super cool(they're carnivorous!) Also, for a bar, this place smells sooo much better then other bars. Might be that they only serve beer and cider but still! The surfaces are never sticky. They also serve cool soups and espresso drinks. They also have the fanciest beers and ciders. I see something new every time I come in, so if you're into trying new things in a really nice atmosphere, this is your destination! read more

My husband and I went looking for some live music while staying in Eureka, and at first came to a bar (not this spot) that was PACKED with people ordering shots and a unremarkable, loud cover band. We looked at each other and knew at once that wasn't our scene. A quick Yelp search found us here... And it was MUCH more our speed. They had a great local band with a banjo, mandoline, and a stand up bass. The craft beer and cider list is incredible. Tons of taps plus a special bottle fridge. I said to my husband "I could spend the rest of my life drinking in this place". Great ambience, and helpful, attentive barkeeps. Two thumbs way up. We will absolutely be back next time we're in town. read more

My favorite place in Eureka by far. The local breweries of Humboldt do produce great quality trademark beers, but they become monotonous quickly as EVERYWHERE carries the same basic spread with little to no outside variation. Siren's Song brings fresh, obscure, and amplified taste to the connoisseurs with tuned palates craving stimulation that is much needed in this area, as well as always having something for everyone no matter what the stage of brew drinker. My mom, for instance, hates beer and yet manages to consistently enjoy a drink here, whereas I have been spoiled by dramatic habañero IPAs and extremely hard to find ales from Dogfish Head and Stone. Then there's my dad, who's a mid-level porter and stout lover who never ceases to embrace something off of their prolific draft and bottle list. Aside from how electric their selection of beverages is, this place offers a wonderful and unique environment in which to enjoy them. In the theme of a ship going down, in a building that watched the entire century take its first steps back in the late 1800s, with wonderfully vivid employees, it's a great place to step in and disconnect from repetition. Even if it's a routine part of your day, it's always refreshing. Also a venue for many live talents. As I work most nights they have music, I haven't been able to clock out timely enough to run down the road and enjoy as much as I'd like. But you can see anything from spoken word to local hip hop, twangy guitars to livid bands. The place as a whole is incredibly versatile. We totally took a chance in Eureka to go out to Old Town on a weeknight! I thought that surely everything would be closed. Much to my surprise, there were a few places open for hanging out and having a drink. I ended up at the Siren's Song Tavern for Poetry Night. It was amazing--so inspiring and fun, full of locals with lots to express! The ambiance was perfect, chill and uplifting--full of genuinely nice people. My only complaint would be that they only serve beer and cider for drinks. I had water and took in all the poetry. It was great! read more

They were killin' it in 2013 when I first reviewed them, and they are still killin' it today--still have the rare beers and other refreshing libations, but now they've added great food to the mix like tamales...and those are delicious! Great strawberry cider on tap! Cool interior. They host goth night occasionally and that's pretty fitting for the spooky interior.

It's a good place to try new drinks, but the selection can be hit-and-miss. Two things I really liked: the banana bread beer and the selection of lambics. I ended up with one really strange "smoked porter" that smelled and tasted like ashes from a campfire. Another time, a wheat beer that tasted like nothing. So, if I were going to go try new things, I'd probably look them up on a review site first. The acoustics could stand to be improved. During a live show, the three-piece band with small speakers dominated the cavernous room and made conversation difficult at the far end. The decor is lovely, the staff are helpful, and the regulars seem really nice. I will probably continue to go back, but not as a regular thing. read more

Took the kids on a bike ride on the new homeless highway , down to the eureka summer concerts. Well children being children of course they had to go to the bathroom. Stopped in at the sirens song, they let the kiddies use he restroom which was separate from the bar itself. They had good music the kind that makes you want to dance. Had a brew. Disappointingly dead. St Paddy's day 5pm and no atmosphere or engagement. This place has invested too heavily on the appearance and forgot about substance. While this is a quiet town the staff were nice but there was no real energy going on. Food menu is limited also but good and fresh. I'd rate them much higher, if you could get some service. The building is beautifully decorated, rich colors while still being comfortably dark and bar like. Plenty of tables and seats. They do have a great selection of beers and ciders. If you don't like what's on tap check the bottle selection. There're a few gems. All this is assuming you get the chance to order. Lower your expectations considerably if the vacant-eyed woman is working. She'll wander by aimlessly, ignoring your attempts to get her attention, then be startled by your presence a few minutes later. Or just be on her phone with her back to you despite the fact that you're one of the only patrons in the bar. Love going here. Always have good beer choices and good prices. The bar tenders are always nice and patient for those who take a while to decide what they want. I admire the décor every time I visit. Can't get enough of the skewed hanging lights and the crooked wallpaper. Look for the varnish on the floor near the doorway. It looks like water is coming into the bar due to the sinking ship!
