Back for another review on a different service at The Skin Center in ShadySide. If you haven't done micro needling yet and you're above the age of 40 what are you waiting for?!!!! I just had my first micro needing appointment at the age of almost 45 with Rachel at the Shadyside location yesterday. I'm looking in the mirror today and I'm seeing the face of a 32 year-old. I MEAN!!!!!!!!! So the process starts with numbing your face with a gel, and the micro needling process was totally different than what I expected. I wouldn't even describe pain as a thing. She rolled it around my face and neck a bunch of times slathered on some cream and that was it!!! Maybe an hour total- if that. Right after I was very red and shiny, but I still went to Trader Joe's. Quite a bit of peeling which is awesome. Last night, it was a little burning/tingling - nothing bad. Today it's a little red, swollen, itchy and light peeling. I signed up for a 4 time package. You can do this every 4 to 6 weeks until you get the results you want and then maybe every six months to maintain this situation. So we'll see how I look at a month to determine whether or not I want to do it right away again or not. But the results are incredible!!!! Combine this with your Botox, a few silhouette lower face threads, and their ZO medical grade Skincare line and turn back that clock for a reasonable investment in yourself with very little downtime at all. I went to the skin center in shady side for a facial and absolutely loved my experience. I had a consultation with Chelsea to go over my options and figure out the best treatment for my skin. I told her I had really oily skin and wanted to get rid of some of my dark spots and she recommended the diamond glow facial. Ive been a patient at the Skin Center for over a year and have seen both Lexy Rachel for filler and Botox. In the past we've done Botox basically everywhere, cheek enhancement, temple restoration, and this time Skin Center generously partnered with me to showcase jawline sculpting with filler. Lexy was the one steering the ship this time and she did a fabulous job (as always) not only in terms of skill and artistry, but bedside manner and did anything should could to make the more uncomfortable parts a little more tolerable. Ngl... jaw filler can be painful... I'm on week 2 and brushing is going away. Was swollen for a few days after but all in all I'm LOVING the results. I can't recommend this place enough. The entire staff really knows what they're doing. They're very educational and aren't afraid to tell you 'no' if they think you aren't right for a certain treatment. 10/10 tell your friends!! read more

Everyone who works here is kind, however, people are on very different skill levels. I used to go for facials with Grace who was very rough, so rough that I stopped going completely. Once she even started talking politics which was unprofessional. My skin was always red and raw for days afterwards. They said my spots would fade with regular facials, but each time I went, it seems their treatments made my scarring worse. My skin has completely recovered after I stopped treatments here. read more

I went in as a first-timer and met with Tiffaney B. as my free consultation. I have had an under-eye line on only one side of my face that was bothering me to look at, and I wanted to see what could be done about it. She articulated a few different options and was completely realistic about it the whole time. I was very impressed with her knowledge and recommendations. I followed her suggestion and got 10 units of Botox, in total during the same visit. It was almost painless, I was shocked at how it didn't hurt with such a fine needle. She gave me aftercare instructions that I made sure to follow, and smiled widely all the way home. I love my results. Highly recommended! PARKING is annoying, but you gotta part on the street. I chose to drive past the center and park on one of the residential side streets behind the Skin Center. There's a two-hour limit on those roads, so as long as you're just gonna be there for that amount of time, you should be fine without a permit. read more

I wouldn't go here for laser hair removal. I went here for laser hair removal on my underarms and I was told I was the "perfect candidate." I have a really fair skin tone with dark hair. I never tan and didn't wax the hair, as I was told not to for both. I did 8 treatments, even though they said that some people stop after 4. I ended up spending a lot of money for something that didn't even work. I thought laser hair removal would help me save money in the long run, which is a huge joke because here I am like 1-2 years later in the exact same position that I was in before I even started. Another excuse would be that I have changing hormones, but no. No change in birth control, pregnancy, other medications, stress, etc. Everything in my life has pretty much stayed the same. My question is, if I am the ideal candidate, what is happening to other people? I know other places that do laser hair removal have some kind of guarantee or promise, and if hair comes back, additional treatments are free. But the skin center has no guarantees or anything. Go somewhere else that takes more responsibility for their patients. read more

Beth has always given me a warm welcome at reception, and Ryan Lewis is a Medical Aesthetician cut above the rest! She is personable, down to earth yet professional, and she is very considerate of her client's comfort. The scheduling staff are wonderful they get you in ASAP and the pricing is fair. The facility is chic and classy paired with comfort. I have darker skin so I was afraid to get laser treatment, but I have to tell you the results have given me new found freedom. After close to 20 years as a Botox client, I am not returning and made the SC aware. According to Diane when trying to schedule for my crows feet area, I am not permitted to make an appointment for a specific area. All areas have to be treated at the same visit. The new policy doesn't permit me to schedule until September as I had other areas treated 2 months ago. She then told me it was handed down from the FDA and any other provider would have the same policy. When I asked why customers were not notified of this change, I was told they do not have time to send out policy updates to customers. Made an appointment elsewhere where they have never heard of such a policy. Diane called me back 2 times but I did not accept the call. The response to this review is to call. I recently visited the Shadyside location for brow Microblading by Liv. The facility is very friendly, clean and professional. Liv made me feel comfortable immediately during my consultation and worked with me to create brows that are "me", not giving me the same cookie-cutter brow as some artists do. And believe me, I did my research on IG and asking area professionals. I was given an aftercare package and thorough explanation of aftercare. I love my brows! I have already booked a few more services with Liv and I look forward to returning there.
