Frankly, I'd rather buy a used car than a new mattress! However, since I was in the area I popped into America's Mattress' Montrose, CO store. Within 10 minutes I knew the manager (Adam Smith) is a professional who knows what genuine customer service is and how to deliver on it - Twice so far for us! When I entered the store he was on the phone making final mattress delivery arrangements with a customer. I was in a hurry so I got his business card and headed for my truck; figuring I'd call him later to set an appointment to discuss getting a new mattress. However, I barely got to my truck before he caught up with in the parking lot and asked how he could assist me. That was a first for a sales person to pursue me in the parking lot! Any other store's employees or managers likely would have told themselves "That guy probably wasn't a serious buyer anyways" and let it go. Not Adam, he bolted for the door after his call ended, wanting to make me another satisfied customer; which he certainly did; and then some!! My wife & I love our years-old queen size traditional mattress in our guest bedroom. However, we wanted the same quality in a "King size" mattress for our bedroom as we're done with the "Mattress in a Box." Given Adam's expertise, he researched our guest bedroom's mattress' make, model and design spec's. Then he cross-referenced these spec's to a currently made king size mattress. "Splitting hairs" - Adam is very knowledgeable about various mattresses' construction, quality, and longevity. So, during our in store follow-up visit he did NOT say "Here's the exact match for the new mattress you seek; you can pay now and we'll schedule a delivery appointment." Instead, he asked us specific questions about the features we seek in our new mattress; how my wife & I each sleep (back / side / stomach, etc.); our issues / complaints with our current mattress, etc. All so he could identify 3 closely similar mattresses per our spec's for us to lay on. So, like "Goldilocks," my wife & I could identify the perfect mattress for us. This experience was very reassuring as we noted the ever so slight variations of the three very similar mattresses. Having our confidence bolstered, we advised Adam "This is the One" and we've been pleased ever since! In short, Adam is not the type of salesperson looking for a quick sale, then repeat the same with the next customer. In great contrast, Adam wants the customer to feel confident in the purchase they're about to make; having tried 1, 2 or more similar mattresses before deciding. Adam clearly understands that top notch customer service results in satisfied customers; thus achieving his personal code of integrity - one customer at a time, and as long as it takes to make sure each customer is fully pleased. Given our outstanding experience with Adam and how much we love our new mattress, we ordered a 2nd identical king size mattress for another bedroom. We also learned he can ship new mattresses anywhere in the U.S. directly from the closest factory / warehouse; often at no additional charge. In short, Montrose America's Mattress Store Manager Adam Smith is all about professional service, offering quality products, and making sure customers get the ideal mattress per their specific needs. Finally, Adam is very Montrose community minded, invested, and engaged; just one example of this was seeing him, his fellow employees, and respective Family members on their "America's Mattress" entry in the 2025 Montrose Christmas Parade! I did not received any letter so I tried contacting them, the only way they are accepting anything is via email right now, so, I've send three messages and have received no reply for any of my messages! I've been working on the warranty claim for about a year now, you'd think someone would have the decency to get back with me.
