I had a chance to finally visit this location while in town to visit the Moms...San Clemente has been like a friendly aunt to me; supportive, nurturing and a source of many good times. It is only fitting, that after moving away from her some 35 years ago, that I continue to come back and take sustenance from what she still offers... I booked my appt. with Valentina a good week in advance on her Genbook software, easy-peasy. The day of the appt. arrived and I'm running late with mom, and I get a friendly call from Val confirming I'm on my way, yep, but it looks like I'm down to an hour now, so I'm a little bummed. We talk briefly and make several connections, so we get to the main attraction: the massage. Val has a nice, simple work area, and it's comfortable and warm. Valentina herself is very confident, without being smarmy and she is reading me pretty well. Nice flow, strong hands and intuitive DT work. It all just seemed to go too quickly, I guess, and I was left wanting more, but that will have to wait until our next encounter. The combination of our first meeting chatting and my time being cut just didn't fill the need I had today I guess, but I won't put that on Val. She drew out a Reiki symbol I know I'll use and was very professional throughout the whole session. I'll save the last star for our second session, which I know will be even better...Namaste! Valentina gave me an excellent massage. It was for 60 mins and was full body, including reflexology on my feet and hands. She is very nice and professional. She paid attention to what I marked as my tight and painful areas on my intake sheet. She seemed to focus on those areas the most which was awesome. She is very strong. Not in a way that hurts you, but in a way that you need from a massage therapist. Holding a head up with your fingertips while the person is on their back and giving pressure on the neck takes strength and dexterity. I loved the way her room was set up. It's a single room with a big divider. There's an intake/checkout area sort of as you enter and the table is behind the screen. She has a lot of crystals and stones for energy work and environment. You can tell she takes great care in their placement. Her handmade jewelry is there on a few tables for sale. Wish I would have seen the Yelp Checkin deal to include the essential oil with my massage, that would have been amazing. All in all, I am very happy with my experience as a new client of Valentina's. Although someone knocked on the outside door she ignored it and didn't interrupt the massage. Perhaps a note that says "Please do not knock.
