Where to begin... How about once upon a time, we were living in the left wing mecca known as California and riding high on a decent amount of equity after accepting an offer well above asking price. In CA, the ruling class ensures us all that everyone wishes they could live there and thus, you could (theoretically) march smugly into any other "lower class" state and wield your equity like a sword of Damocles. Not that you would of course, because who would ever want to leave such a paradise? Well, that little pandemic thing we're starting to get over opened up some remote working options for us and we decided to lose our sanity and vacate the utopia for a more "normal" way of life, devoid of mandates, taxes, hypocrisy, draconian laws, brutal traffic at all times of the day, rude people, and a homeless crisis going completely unchecked. I know, how asinine of us! After seeing some stellar reviews for Jessi and the Southbound group, we decided to give them a whirl. We met online, then flew out to Nashville a few weeks later, rented an AirBnB with some good friends of ours, and toured several homes with the unflinchingly upbeat, brilliant, and caring Cierra (if you get the opportunity to work with her during the house hunt, consider yourself incredibly blessed!). We found a home we loved, put in an offer, and got accepted while sitting in the Nashville airport terminal. We were ecstatic! Gee, this was all going so well and everything was falling into place nicely. But that's when things changed, and when we got to see the true professionalism come out with Jessi and Cierra. The buyer for our house had a wire transfer glitch that occurred, which resulted in a slip of just a few days in closing. In this utterly insane market, that's an eternity. The sellers for that house then decided to move on to their backup offer and kick us to the proverbial backup curb. We were devastated. Our house closed per the new schedule and we were essentially without a home and sitting 2000 miles away on borrowed time. While we were going through a very difficult period, Jessi and Cierra reassured us constantly and set up virtual home tours regularly. We went through a LOT of homes via Cierra's cell phone and would then discuss our thoughts afterwards. We made another offer on a different home over asking price, which wasn't quite enough. Then a third offer on another home even more over asking price, but that still wasn't enough. Then a fourth, and finally a fifth. Each offer brought more frustration and disappointment after the rejections came through. Regardless, Jessi and Cierra stayed the course and never faltered even a little. Cierra got to know our wants and needs and made sure we remained focused on meeting as many of those as possible. This was particularly critical since we were so far away and really had to trust her. Then Jessi would help us through the negotiating portions and did all the heavy lifting for us, again fully recognizing our challenging remote situation. In the end, after five offers over several months, a market like we've never seen before, multiple appraisals and inspections, earnest money flying back and forth, ever-changing sellers and demands, and juggling work schedules/home office setups, we finally closed on our new home and get to move in next weekend. We couldn't have done it without Jessi and Cierra. During this real estate storm, these two served as our rock. We're so happy we chose this team to work with and feel like we already have a couple friends here in the Nashville area. A TON of people are flooding into this area, for very good reason. The worst experience I've ever with someone I've worked with was Jessi from The Southbound Group. Jessi said all the right things on our initial phone call but then never bothered to meet my wife and I until the day of our closing. She was almost always slow to get back to us. When we submitted our list of requests to be done after our inspection she never worked with the other agent to resolve them. We had to push back our closing at the last minute 3 times because of unresolved issues. The day before we were supposed to close we discovered a water leak in the crawl space. Jessi told us if we tried to pull out of the deal we would get sued. I consulted a real estate attorney and he said that was 100% incorrect. Our mortgage broker, who was excellent, told us Jessi was the most irresponsible agent she's ever had to work with.
