Sloppy work and dishonest owner. We hired Luxe Painting and Remodeling to remodel our staircase and…read morehandrail at our home in Michigan, as well as replace interior doors. We were told by the owner, Flo Malaj, that his worker would do the carpentry work, and that he would do the paint and stain. Before and during the work, Flo never was at our house. He sent a cousin, Edi Malaj, to do the painting and stain. There were numerous issues during the job. On the phone, Flo lied and told me that he was working on a job at a gym in Birmingham, MI. Simultaneously, I found a social media post showing he was actually painting a gym in Florida. When the job was completed, I was out of town, and we were promised that after we paid them, if there were any issues identified that they would be remedied. After no response from Flo, I had to reach out directly to the carpenter to fix our handrail, which was barely hanging on to the wall. The carpenter was at least responsive and fixed the issue. There were paint issues everywhere, from blotches on the walls to poor taping, resulting in cracks and peeling. They also didn't protect our new floors, which had varnish and stain blotches dried on them. Flo finally showed up weeks after we had paid him. He gave us the impression he was coming to fix the issues, yet he showed up with no supplies to do so. He then said that he would have his cousin fix it. Edi, his cousin, was a no show FIVE TIMES and had different excuses each time. We finally gave up and then had to pester him to even send us the names of the paint and stain that were SUPPOSED to be left behind so we could buy it and try to fix it on our own. Flo just simply stopped responding to us. I would never recommend this company to anyone. See pics for the work they are willing to leave us with.
