    Respectable Group - Partial walkway

Talks the talk but fails to walk the walk…read more The staff / owners gave us a great presentation and promised a first rate lanai refurbishment including cleaning, replacing, filling-in (sand), and sealing our travertine pavers. They promised to cover our pool / spa to prevent sand intrusion and estimated a week to a week and a half to complete the job. Yes they cleaned and replaced pavers to our satisfaction. That said, any sealant that might have been applied several months ago is long gone. Moreover, the sand filler has washed away. We now have more loose pavers than before our ~$6,000 job. The job took well over a month as we couldn't count on when the workers would show, despite promises to the contrary. And, months later I'm still cleaning sand from my pool / spa. An owner, who was prompt at picking up a check, promised to have an employee return to fix the loose pavers - haven't seen or heard from them since. Lastly, three of my neighbors report similar issues with the "Respectable Group." I recommend not committing to this entity; however, if you do, hold the final payment for at least 30 days to verify the intended results.

From first contact to job completion, everything was handled professionally. My driveway & walkway cleanings were overdue & this was my 1st lanai cleaning. None of these areas were ever sealed. The calcium & mold buildup & weeds & insects between the pavers was disgusting. The team was prompt, efficient, professional & courteous. Heavy rains came in before all the seals dried and they returned to reseal and their 'white glove' team did the final cleanup and confirmed my driveway was again usable. I'd give them 1,000 stars if I could.

On 9/28/12, we redeemed a Living Social deal we purchased to have our pool cage and pool deck power washed by Under Pressure. We also paid an additional $125 to have the exterior of the home power washed. The owner was present with the crew but did not supervise the cleaning of the lanai specifically where the damage occurred. It is our opinion that water caused drywall damage of the lanai ceiling. Specifically, falling chips of paint in the apex of the ceiling and a piece of tape underneath the paint. This damage occurred during their service, as I had looked over the area carefully beforehand since we recently purchased the home and I replaced light bulbs in the ceiling fan where the damage occurred days before. The damage was immediately noticeable to myself and my fiance when entering the lanai. As a side note, we spent an hour cleaning out the pool because the dirt and debris was washed right into the pool. To top it off, windows on the second floor were still dirty. They did a mediocre job cleaning, regardless of the damage. Repeated calls were made to the owner to resolve this situation, beginning with that day. He refused to accept responsibility for the paint damage during each conversation, stating that he could not understand how it could have happened since they know not to spray drywall because this can happen. An estimate for the repair was provided to the owner by a contractor who we trust. He estimated $150. The owner continued to attest that he did not understand how this could have happened. He refused to help pay for the damage despite claiming he is insured. You are much better off finding another power washing company.

    Reputable Paints

I do not recommend Reputable Paints/Jon Miller at this time…read more On April 30th, 2024, Jonathan Miller of Reputable Paints LLC started work on removing popcorn ceiling texture from our guesthouse ceiling in Sarasota. The signed contract says he was to tape off all walls and floors. The texts said he would move all furniture and repair drywall as well. The contract was for knockdown texture after popcorn removal and then prime and paint. The texture is not knockdown texture. A spray hopper was used to apply the texture without the walls being covered, so the walls and trim of my guesthouse ended up with a large amount of texture on them. The damage has made it impossible to properly paint since the edges were not cut in and a straight line can't be made. Even on May 1st he texted me that he was coming out to start the ceiling repairs and do masking for texture. The carpets are ruined with plaster or paint material. The ceiling is still not fully painted. The new texture is also already cracking. It was cracking day off application of paint that I first noticed and immediately let Jon know, which he never addressed. I paid John 20% for materials up front and the remainder early May (cleared May 6th) when he said he had to leave early. I asked about the texture on the walls and floor and was told it would just brush off. That wasn't the case. My family spent hours scraping the texture from walls, trim, fans, and more, but still some remains. Jon also came back out to remove texture from the walls, but like previous days he had been out, used my kitchen sink to repeatedly rinse a rag with texture or some white material on it after being told we were on a small septic and to not put anything down the sink. Texture still remains on the wall, attic door, attic door trim, walls and wall trim. I have had two other contractors come out who said the texture needs to be completely redone and is cracking due to the drywall under the popcorn not being properly prepared before the texture was sprayed. I also went by Sherwin Williams and I showed them the photos of my ceiling to see if there was a temporary fix I could apply. They also said the cracking was due to the drywall not being properly prepared before texture was applied. I have estimates for the carpet replacement in the bedroom, using the lowest cost option and to have the ceiling redone and repainted. The repairs/replacement for damage caused is going to be over three times what I paid Jon. I gave multiple opportunities for Jon to make things right, but he showed up in mid May and left more texture on the walls, didn't repair the cracking texture, or fully paint the repaired areas and left without saying a word. I followed up and he said he could come back out Friday, May 24th to paint the areas that were missed, but said he would have to charge me more to have the cracked areas of texture which he applied, repaired. He did not show up and did not contact me saying he wouldn't be there. I had asked for a refund of the the money I paid, to cover a small portion of the costs of repairs, but he refused. I filed a claim with his liability insurance after he was a no show on the Friday May 24th. His insurance company told me they had canceled his policy weeks before it was stated with me/when work started on my project. I chose this company based off Nextdoor posts, which was a big mistake. He posted on Nextdoor multiple places that he was licensed and insured. Neither was true at the time of start of the project at my home on 4/30 through the last day he showed up which I believe was 5/18. His last day here, the ceiling was left not fully painted, cracked areas were not addressed at any point, paint bucket with roller left on carpet, and bedroom carpet remained ruined. I am happy to update my review if Reputable Paints will make things right by providing a refund (which is much less than the actual cost to repair the damage done).
