I ordered off of THEIR website (not a third party, like Teleflora etc.) On their website I saw a beautiful ficus tree, which I ordered as a sympathy gift for a family member who lost their mother. "Same day delivery" was available, which I chose. My order was completed by 11:30 am, with confirmation of a delivery by "end of day." Their website stated they closed at 5pm. At 4:56 pm I received a voicemail from the owner, Erin, stating that the ficus tree wasn't available, and she couldn't deliver it until Tuesday. I ordered on a Thursday for SAME DAY DELIVERY, so this would mean FIVE DAYS LATER, they would receive their sympathy tree. The voicemail I received did not at any point express an apology or convey any type of remorse for the situation. I wish I could attach the voicemail here, as it was just unbelievable how callous it was. I called back, but they were closed. I called the following morning and spoke with Erin, the new owner. She just restated the same thing she said in the voicemail, again not acknowledging any regret on her part. I asked her why it was that she called 4 minutes before they closed to tell me it couldn't be delivered. She snapped "I have strep throat, I had just come in." I said "you didn't even offer an apology!" She sarcastically says to me "Oh, I'm soooo sorry." I asked if she thought it was ok that a same day delivery would be delivered 5 days later. She replied with, "how is Thurs-Tues 5 days?" I mean...did she have strep in her brain? Because that's 5 days! When I pointed out her being wrong, she then told me she didn't appreciate my sarcasm (I wish I was kidding). If this woman hadn't already charged my credit card, I would have simply hung up. There is so much more that transpired, but this review is already too long. Basically she told me she is very sick with her sore throat, the nursery is an hour away, she's a business owner for 25 years, blah blah blah. She said "What is it you want Ma'am?" I said "if the tree can't be delivered until 5 days, I think you should contact the recipient & apologize for the delay, as well as send a SMALL arrangement for the error." She immediately refused and said I was being completely unreasonable, and she "wasn't going to absorb a cost due to a plant not being available when I want it." Yes...she really said that. So now I had enough and demanded my credit card be credited back immediately. She said it would take 5-7 days. I went nutso at this point and told her it better be credited by the morning. She had the audacity to tell me "that's not how life works." I honestly thought I was gonna have a stroke at this point, as my blood pressure was boiling. Well...the credit was there the next day, so I guess that is how life works. Sorry this is so long, but I had a lot of venting to do. Reminder that this was a sympathy gift for a close family member, I didn't need this grief during that time. Stay far away... I ended the call with "I'm going to Yelp the @*#! out of you." She said "Have fun with that." I did Erin...I did.

Twice my husband bought me flowers from CT Flower Shop and both times the flowers were nearly dead…read morewithin 24 hours. The first time I didn't say anything because I didn't want my husband to feel bad. This time, for Mother's Day, when the flowers were a wilted mess within 24 hours I decided to write to the shop and send photos to give them an opportunity to make it right with a refund or replacement, particularly since my husband spent over $180 to have this arrangement delivered. (By the way, the arrangement is appallingly overpriced at $144 and my husband prepaid a hefty delivery fee and an additional very large tip of $20). Although she has promised to send another arrangement today to replace it, she had the audacity to say next time I should follow the instructions and give it water because she claimed there was no water in that vase when in fact it was 3/4 full of water still. The photos provided in my email were close-ups of the wilted flowers and didn't show the vase. I couldn't believe how insulting her response was, trying to deflect blame on the customer. I sent her a response with an additional photo of the full vase of water.... did she think a bouquet of flowers was going to drink nearly half-gallon of water in 12 hours since delivery????? We regularly give businesses second chances, often more, but when a business blames the customer without evidence/justification that's a deal breaker for me. I told my husband just now that he should never use that florist again. I'd rather have no flowers than get poor quality, overpriced flowers from a place that would insult customers like this. Follow up -- in a subsequent email response to me when I had told her that I didn't appreciate her insulting comment, she accused me of refilling the vase after the fact and claimed that my original photo proves it, and refers to me as "triggered". I've added a photo of this communication. And, the first two photos I had attached to this review are what I had sent her (not the one focused on the vase which I sent her after she insulted me). I'm adding to this review a duplicate of the one photo I had sent her and I've added a notation pointing to the water line in that photo - the photo she's claiming shows there's no water. Can you imagine an arrangement drinking over half a gallon of water within like 18 hours LOL. Her behavior in this situation is appalling. 5/13 @ 12:37pm ET: Adding my response to the florist's comment below: She has been repeatedly rude. After making crazy accusations and calling me triggered in email, I told her to not bother sending a new arrangement and instead to send my husband a refund. She was given the opportunity to make it right with my outreach and she chose to be incredibly rude and insulting and direct blame at me rather than just graciously taking accountability like a professional would. After her repeated insults I decided I prefer to not have her come to my house at this point. I've never had to write a bad florist review in all the years my wonderful husband has had flowers sent to me at least 3x/year...till this terrible encounter with this rude woman.

When we first tried to make our yard look nice we went to our local Home Depot to ask them questions about what we should be planting based off of the acidity of our soil and the look we were trying to achieve. Shortly after starting the conversation the employee's eyes would glaze over from lack of caring or confusion. Not to mention you had to hunt through the plants offered to find one that appeared in good health. Frustrated we left without buying much of anything. One day on the way to our hair dresser we stopped in at this nursery a block away from the salon and were super impressed with the service and selection. I would say their products are 20% more expensive than the big box store but are also in better health and come with tons of free advice on how to successfully plant and grow your garden items. This place is fantastic for plants, trees, and advice on how to care for your yard. So far we've purchased a linden tree, endless summer hydrangeas, honeysuckle, and bleeding hearts from this nursery and everything is thriving, we couldn't be more pleased with their products. This place is best for trees and shrubs, if looking for hanging baskets or vegetables I would frequent a different nursery or your local big box store.
