The extensive hair loss meant a full wig was the best option. When the family came in, the stylist gave them the time, understanding & compassion they needed to feel relaxed about their decision making. The child chose a wig for herself & was carefully fitted. As Mom watched, the child learned all about wearing & caring for the wig. When the lesson was over, the child looked in ALL the mirrors. Then she ran to her mom, & twirled around. Mom just smiled. This time it really paid off. From the moment I opened the door, it was evident that Genesis was much more than an average salon. The lobby is beautifully decorated and comfortable. I was greeted immediately by the person who was to perform my service (Obi is awesomeness personified), and led to another immaculately furnished and decorated area. I love that everywhere I went, I could see that the customer was kept in mind. There are comfortable places to lounge and it is obviously kept CLEAN! From the outside, you would think this salon and spa is your ordinary store front, however you would be mistaken. Genesis is huge on the inside. Before coming for my appointment, I researched my esthetician Obi through her customer reviews. I'm happy to report that She was exactly what all of her customers have said she is: PHENOMENAL! I appreciated her professionalism and warm personality. Even though this was my first direct experience with her waxing services, I felt completely comfortable with her. Most importantly, she made sure that I was 100% satisfied with my service before I left, and to me, that is a woman who knows the meaning of customer service. Obi was so awesome that my spa and pedicure appointments are booked with her for the next few months. Yep, Obi is the newest member of the Diva Squad! I'm so thankful to have found Obi and Genesis. Everyone seemed to be booked for the day and then I walk in here and found I'd be next in line after the lady currently getting her hair cut. When it was my turn, I got my hair shampooed and conditioned before the cut. She asked if I had a picture of what I wanted, and I didn't but tried to explain. She pulled it a picture book and pointed at a hair style and I said yes. At first, the lady scared the life out of me when she started cutting so much hair off. I almost cried. I just needed a trim at the back and here she was cutting inches. I could feel so much of my hair being butchered off my head. I have a lot of hair, and pretty thick at that. I was preparing myself to be disappointed and pretty irked, and bough I couldn't find my voice to speak up. I just watched and felt. And then I started seeing her near-finished result and the fear instantaneously lifted. I liked,no, loved what I was seeing at the corner of my eyes. It was exactly the hairstyle I had wanted long before I got the first cut to shape my hair into an A-frame cut. The shock of getting inches of hair cut off dissipated and I couldn't help but smile and laugh at my absurdity. I love the end result!
