I have had many massages at various different locations and I firmly believe that the Massage I received from Aaron yesterday was absolutely impeccable. From the moment I walked in I felt my stress wash away. The staff was incredibly professional, the entire building was aesthetically pleasing, and the massage that I received was exactly what I needed to make me feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Let me preface this by stating, this is only my opinion and I don't want to disrespect the profession. I have not had many regrets with experiences this year, but this is one that stands out. I waited to give a review, but the regret continues to linger so here we are. The customer service was good. Nothing over the top or highly memorable, but the staff i worked with was nice. Changing room is similar to a gym locker room and the oversized robes made for a comfy fit. The waiting/lounge area is somewhat small and felt more like a doctor's office wait area than a spa visit IMO. The snacks and beverages were similar to a car dealership, except they offer wine and mimosas which is a big plus. I was very underwhelmed by my massage that I can't put into words. The masseuse was very pleasant but the cost (pay attention to the gratuity charge AND being asked to pay gratuity)...I felt hustled! If I was a different kind of person, I would do a charge back, but I digress. My massage was full body including the face and scalp. The facial was the best part if that says anything. There wasn't a lot of pressure- not deep tissue and just not what I was hoping for. Maybe I picked the wrong package or maybe I thought it would have been more relaxing like others I've had. I really feel bad for this review because it is a local business, but I wouldn't return even if the experience was free. I was looking for a smaller fitness program and a good Personal Trainer. My only regret is I didn't go here soon enough. I dislike bug gyms. Tyler is professional and has helped me improve my strength and stamina after having major surgery. Pretty disappointed. Besides the bottomless champagne all other services were unsatisfying. The Himalayan salt massage was just ok - it was more of a hot stone massage. Masseuse did not ask to target any areas, was a simple full body massage. The SUBLIME SKIN 75 MIN. | $160 DELUXE ACTIVE LIFTING, was NOT sublime. Again no targeted areas, just a simple facial mask which included a light shoulder massage. I've had a better facial at 1/2 the cost at massage envy. LITTLE FLOWER 45 MIN PEDICURE. - again, not worth the price. Where was my massage??? If rubbing lotion on my legs consist of a massage, I could easily do that myself after a shower. I was expecting a little more attention to my feet and it was simply a basic pedicure. Crazy how they can get away charging these prices for services equal to a nail or massage service you could find at a mall. Would not recommend or return. The staff was friendly - I'll give them that. Lastly. I was told I could come in early to relax. RELAX - not! I was asked to sit in basically a lobby area near their gym, because a party had taken over the tranquility room which I couldn't enter. This place is so gross. They make it sound and look so nice but it's so dirty, dingy, and outdated. Fluorescent lighting throughout the one side, and then the other side looks like a dungeon. The staff had the manners of JCPenney workers, not spa staff, and the massage was sub par. I had to tell the masseuse like 10x he was hurting me and he also put towels on me that were scalding hot. I mean not like a little uncomfortable but very uncomfortable. The outside looks like a hodge podge grandma's house, the inside looks exactly like a dirty and sad doctor's office, and it must be run by people that have never been to a decent spa. read more

Mandatory health assessment and temperature check before entering the building. All staff and clients had masks on which made me feel safe at this spa. Two of my very close friends have ranted & raved about Yellow Creek for years and are regulars here. Since my visit was scheduled by his wife, she choose the Yellow Creek Signature full body massage for me & was super excited to take me for my first visit. Unfortunately, it will be my last. I hated everything about my experience!!!! For starters, the pictures that are provided on their site as well as Yelp are not what the environment looked like at all! The pictures make everything appear clean, white, pristine & well lit with plenty of relaxing views of the outdoors. However, when we arrived everything was so poorly lit that it was difficult to see. Almost all of the curtains throughout the hallway, waiting room & massage room were all closed. I don't know about you but staring at grey curtains is not visually appealing to me. The entire place was dank & drab. In fact, it was so poorly lit in the waiting room that another woman had to ask me to help her read the flavors on the k-cups because it was too dark. The waiting area also didn't have enough seating for everyone so it was uncomfortable & awkward; you could hear everyone's private conversations. I was instructed not to eat before our visit since they do offer food. Although you can get free refills & additional helpings the cheese plate they brought us was pathetic! It consisted of two pieces of cheese cut into 4 triangles each, 5 crackers, maybe 4 chocolate covered pretzels & way too many chocolate raisins. At the outrageous prices they charge, their offerings should look like a chartreuse tray not a lunchable! To add to my annoyance, it was very cold throughout the building. The locker room was another joke. Again, I was told they have private showers... they aren't! There was one narrow shower stall across from the lockers. Although the curtain was a solid color, the stall is right there. Anyone in the locker room could easily pull open the curtain or unintentionally see you naked! The lone shower was dirty- as in the grout clearly hadn't been scrubbed- ever! And the floor was wavy- if you require a wheelchair you'd be screwed. The stall doors are also very dated & offer very little privacy. While I was washing my hands I could easily see people doing their business behind me (the gaps in between the stall door & wall partition are way too wide). As for my massage, I feel this was the most disappointing thing above all else. The last time I had a full body massage was in 2010 by Head 2 Toe Massage in Mantua, OH. Their massage therapists (John) was amazing! I was pain free for 3 months!!!! I had 10xs the energy, mobility and overall better attitude. Yet at Yellow Creek my massage was pointless. The employee who worked on me was polite, had a good sense of humor and answered all of my questions. However, since I didn't book the massage I had no idea that it was supposed to include a "...hot water bottle on the sacrum" which mine didn't. I had wasted my time filling out their paperwork because I clearly wrote that I cannot use oils/scents such as clove, ginger,etc. ( I have scent triggered migraines & Raynaud's disease) yet she didn't bother to ask me about it and used oils that smelled absolutely terrible to me. Plus, I was so cold the entire time I had goosebumps. With Raynaud's disease- you have to avoid being wet & cold at all cost which was not an option during the massage. The room itself was like a morgue. If my body was going to be prepared for burial it would be cleaned in this room. And the "soothing" music choice- could it be any more depressing! It just added to the morgue-like feeling. Could I have spoken up- yes but I truly don't feel it was the massage therapists fault that I couldn't relax. Bad smells, depressing music, uncomfortable temperatures & The Eye!!! That's right, we've all had the feeling of being watched...when I rolled over onto my back there it was- a large eye (not an actual one, it was the lighting combined with shadows & what I believe is a sprinkler head) it was creepy af & made me tighten my muscles even more. Besides, telling someone that you're not happy with their services while you're naked probably isn't wise. After all, this is a place of business not a bad date. I left stressed out & angry- it cost me over $300.00 for my massage & my friends facial!!!! I only paid $55.00 for my pain free massage. My daughter& I had booked appts. A month in advance for facials& wrap/ skintreat massage. We called the week before and day before to confirm. our appts were for 10 am. I arrived at 930am to change and use the steam room and was told due to call off we could only get facials today. 4 other people who came in within the next hour were told the same thing. They tried to get us to stay 2 hours later than plannned and get mani/ pedis. I explained that was not service we wanted and I already had appt for that at another salon. They should have called after the girl called off and have given customers the option to rebook, not have them come in and try to get out of them what they could. I am giving this spa 5 stars for many reasons. I had my first appointment in September of 2018 where I booked a massage, facial and pedicure. There was an error on their part and on the day of my appointment they broke the news to me that I could not get the massage because there was a booking error. I ended up getting a great facial and pedicure that day and they comp'd my entire day AND gave me a gift card to come back for all three services! I went today and everything was amazing! The place is spotless, calming, and the entire staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating! I had Angie for my massage and she was outstanding! Hands down the best massage I have ever gotten! My facial was good but will look into other options the next time I go. This was my first experience at this spa and I have to say, there were things that I liked and things that I did not like. Overall, my expectations weren't met. The first thing that bothered me was that their prices are not listed on the website. My mom and I went for pedicures for her birthday. We had to change our arrival time earlier in the day to about 15 minutes later because I wasn't sure we would make it in time and Adam was very accommodating to us. When we came in, I checked in and we were immediately given 2 pages of paperwork to do. (I came to relax, not to fill out paperwork. I think you should be given the option.) Instead of giving us time to complete our paperwork in the lobby, we were taken into the mani/pedi room and asked to pick a color while simultaneously juggling the clipboards for paperwork and holding our things. We were offered snacks and drinks. I felt very overwhelmed which is not how I want to feel when I come into a spa. We sat down and they brought us our beverages and a snack plate. The plate was a nice mixture of fresh fruit, cheese, crackers, biscotti, etc. My water came with lemon and cucumber in it and was very refreshing and delicious. However, my water was empty about 10 minutes into the pedicure and I was never asked if I wanted something else to drink or a refill. Our nail technicians were very pleasant. The issue that I had was that I have never had a pedicure where I came home and still had callus all over my heels. I can feel the dead skin on my heels that wasn't properly removed. I used the bathroom as I was leaving and while the bathrooms were clean, the hinges were rusted and the stall doors seemed dirty and outdated. This isn't an issue for me but I was confused because the rest of the bathroom (sinks, tiles, mirrors) were all updated and very clean. It seems like they skipped the stalls when they renovated. Conclusion: I only had a pedicure and there are many options that this spa offers. I would not come back to this location for a pedicure but may possibly try other services. read more

I promise you that your skin will be as soft as a baby's ass. Cold stone facial treatment was soothing and reduced puffiness in my face. Facial was just okay. NO SKIN ANALYSIS under a magnifying mirror, huh? That was a major miss. And i am an Esthetician! That is standard protocol in a facial. I felt like she just rubbed a bunch of creams on my face without telling me anything about my skin or what it needs. And her touch was so light I could barely feel it. The pedicure was the highlight for me. A whitewash of white, the room is soothing and so comfortable. Very nice chairs. Fresh oranges in the soaking water for your tootsies. Not an overly large selection of polish colors but Setsuko (sp) gave me a great pedicure. The overall ambiance of the spa is nice. Spa attendant service is excellent. They are constantly replenishing the water and snacks in the relaxation room. My robe, slippers, etc were put out for me as I was shown the locker room upon arrival. I was offered a complimentary mimosa, cheese, crackers, fruit, and they even treated me to a cupcake since it was my birthday. Again, terrific and attentive service and the place to spend a day and splurge. I have not been to Spa Walden but that is my next stop. Things I wish they would change: 1. Not having the staff go in/out of the door near the relaxation room. The constant shuffle of people through there makes it anything but relaxing. Can you close the door to the relaxation room in the meantime or at least pipe music in there and close the door to minimize the noise? 2. Automatically adding on an 18% gratuity for multiple services. I would have tipped 20% for the body treatment and pedi and probably 10-15% for the facial. 3. Don't you dare judge me. I'm a working man, but I love hot springs, massages, all the pampering that the body and soul needs, craves and deserves after a grueling day, or week, or decade. The Much Better Half and I have planned weekends, weeks and even international travel around a spa visit. Some are wacky, off-the-beaten-path hot springs, some are mom-and-pop places, and some are just flat luxurious. Yellow Creek Spa is just flat luxurious. It isn't the best I've ever tried, (Evian-les-Bains was great. Peninsula Spa Kowloon was pretty amazing, George V beyond measure) but it is, by far, the best in the area. Clean, well-planned, efficient, with a well-trained, relaxed staff. Sure, they'll try to push some of their "product" on you, and sure, you could drop a few hundred on creamy emollients, eyebrow stabilizers, square butt eradication tape, crow-feet-begone, but you really don't have to. Just pick one of the spa packages, and let the stress melt out your pores, down the drain, and into Yellow Creek, all the way to the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Expensive, but only by local standards. Much more affordable than snagging the company Gulfstream and hitting Grand Hotel Bellevue in Gstaad. What you'd drop on a forgettable meal up the road at Ken Stewart's will give you balance. Joy. Peace. And a fuller appreciation for the Buddha nature in you and all living things. (For some still-pretty-serious coin, remember.) Namaste. read more

For the last few years my wife and I have been getting massages for special occasions. We used to go to Mario's in Aurora, but the experience there was sometimes lacking. One some weekends we felt like a number in line churning out treatments and massages. The place was always packed and in our last experience they started nickel and diming you on everything. A few years back we tried Yellow creek. Big difference and we haven't been back to Mario's since then. Not as crowded and they go out of their way to really pamper you. Endless sparkling wine, snack trays, tea, coffee, and other beverages are included in the price - not so at Mario's. Every massage I've ever received at Yellow creek has been very good and their pedicure area is much nicer than the chair set up at Mario's in Aurora. Are there a few things to pick on, yes. The relaxation room has a tendency to be cold and they don't have a whirlpool/grotto like Mario's Aurora. My cousin wanted to treat me to a spa day for my birthday. She is from California, so I chose the Spa at Yellow Creek since it supposedly was the best spa in the area. Boy was I wrong! The staff person with whom I spoke strongly suggested we arrive early to take advantage of the amenities at the spa. So we arrived a little after 9 for our 10 a.m. massages. The women's locker room was tiny. The steam room was chilly and claustrophobic. There was no sauna. There wasn't a hot tub or plunge pool. There was a relaxation room, if you can call it that. The room contained very wobbly uncomfortable chairs, no chaises or lounger. My cousin leaned back and fell over! Thankfully she was not hurt. The chairs are white and quite filthy. The entire spa needs redecorated. The massage treatments (Yellow Creek Signature Massages) were okay, but we felt the therapists were very rough. Mine did not ask the type of pressure i enjoy and I felt that she would have preferred to be elsewhere.I did enjoy the cold stone facial aspect. That is a unique treatment I have never had. My cousin paid and she said it was very expensive for the poor amenities and massages. I will not be returning or recommending this place. read more

Long Post! Must Read! So I've been a very long time client at The Spa At Yellowcreek. I started with Sam, to Paula, to Jovon and lastly I had Ryan doing my nails. Ryan, who'd done my nails the last 2 1/2-3, years did the best job of everyone I'd had there. We developed a good friendship over that time. I've had numerous run ins with the front desk and management (I did love Josh, who is no longer there) about miscellaneous charges, membership screw up and all. But I really like the service and amenities there. So I've remained a client. For my last visit with her, I could tell something wasn't not right. She informed me that she was leaving the spa, not on her own accord, but because another employee in the nail room didn't like her. Ryan stayed that prior to my arrival she'd had a meeting with Scott (the manager) and he informed her about the situation and about Ally threatening to leave if Ryan kept her employment at the Spa. She claimed to fear for her safety around Ryan. Now if you've ever seen them both in the nail room together you'd know that the farthest from the truth! And that's all that matters right?! That work can be done and clients can be happy! Well, I'm writing this to say that I am NOT happy to loose the best nail tech I'd ever had. I scheduled an appointment for the following week because Ryan and Jason (front dest) said that she would be there the following Thursday , and Scott would not let her return to work. I was NOT informed of this change prior to arrival and was completely shocked that she couldn't do my last pedicure! They told me that she left to work somewhere else, which I'd already known was indeed not true. So I txted Ryan from the lobby and she sent me a screen shot proving what I already knew to be true. Due to Ally's habitual lying, Ryan was out of a job! I hope this letter researches the appropriate person and to let clients know how wrong the Spa does their employees! It's not right! read more

So I have gotten spa treatments at various facilities over the years, I love going to the spa. Finding a good one now that's tricky. I can only imagine that catering to women (and men) is not an easy business when it comes to the service industry so this review will be a completely honest detail of the good and the bad because truly there were some really good points and some really bad points. My first visit was months ago for a facial. I'm going to preface all of this by saying that I suffer from serious chronic pain esp in my back/neck. I work full time despite it ( I am a Nurse that is in marketing and sales no less, so I understand customer service). When i first came in I was greeted by a friendly face who offered to take my coat and showed me where to change, it was my first time there so I appreciated that. Carolyn did my facial, and I know I scared her when I went to go lie down on the bed and unfortunately I went into a massive spasm in my back. Carolyn was very attentive and tried not to panic and assisted me until the spasm was gone and I was comfortable. She was VERY attentive to my pain during the treatment. Now for the not so good. I do not wish to embarrass but She had just come off of lunch and she had to have eaten MASSIVE amounts of garlic and if you have ever had a facial they are RIGHT in your face the entire treatment so it was awful, that smell ruined the entire treatment for me. In addition with respects to the treatment itself I felt that it was lack luster in comparison to other facials that I have received. It was just OK, I did not walk away with my face feeling refreshed. Because of the quality of the facial itself I really hadn't planned on returning, however my normal nail technician was booked so I decided to give Spa at Yellow Creek another shot. I walked in and signed in and was told to go pick my polish. I had my polish with me but for my hands I wanted shellac. I was greeted by my nail tech Monique. Nobody had offered to take my coat, I had to ask "What do I do with my coat" In my opinion with the quality of a spa you are trying to achieve I believe that offering a locker to even the nail guests and a robe would be a nice touch. Anyways at that point she took my coat. She had me sit on the chair to start my pedicure. I got the Volcanic stone Pedicure, which if we can talk about the treatment for a minute was INCREDIBLE!! I will say as nice as Monique was,there were a few instances during this entire visit where I felt "less than" if you will. I do have a lot of chronic diseases but I work with them and do the best I can to live a relatively normal life. I told her that I had psoriasis and that my 2 thumb nails had lifted off of half of my nail bed as a result of some medicaition that the dr put me on years ago. As a result I wear polish 100% of the time. She started my pedicure and I was offered something to drink and a complimentary fruit and cheese tray, REALLY nice touch, That really made me feel pampered. As Monique was filing my feet she said "you go barefoot all the time don't you?" I felt that was an odd question to which i reponded NO I'm NEVER barefoot. I dress to the nines and am always in heels. She then stated that I had some of the worst calluses that she's ever seen. I explained to her that Psoriasis is an overproduction of skin cells and I get calluses MUCH quicker than the normal person. She then stated "Well I've seen worse feet" She made me feel dirty. Not appropriate to say to a customer. She kept repositioning my feet and telling me to move my feet to a more convenient position for her and I told her I couldn't keep my legs like that because of my pain. I thought I was supposed to be the one that relaxes here?? I went to go have my nails done and I explained after my polish was removed that there was a spot under my nail the size of a tip of a pen where the psoriasis is and that I used to have fungus under there. I felt like someone pressed the panic button and she said I can't finish your treatment etc.... let me talk to my manager. I have been going to my nail lady at another salon for years and she has HELPED me get rid of the fungus NEVER once saying that we cannot help you or made me feel like I was the plague. The way I was treated I was so embarrassed, the worst part about it is it ended up being a tiny spot of blue polish that got under the nail. But the manager refused to let her use the shellac bottles unless I bought them. I was disgusted and they knew it. We came up with a compromise but for this reason alone I will never be back. I get that you have to follow state guidelines but how about checking to see if it's a fungus before making me feel like the plague. On top of it I was there for 4 hours!! I'm sorry but a mani/pedi for $175 and you treat me like that??? I will be going elsewhere. Very disappointing. read more

Overall- not a bad place---but VERY overpriced and Forget it if you want true customer service. Some of our (large) party were unable to make it for their nail appointments and they charged us anyway stating a 7 day cancellation policy (which I did not know about as I was not the one who made the appointments and we were told on the phone when we cancelled that it was no problem- no mention that we would be charged anyway) with a snotty, mocking tone by the incredibly rude and sarcastic guy at the front desk. Totally "undid" any positive residual effect from my otherwise solid massage. I would NEVER run my own business this way and will never return or recommend. There are too many other places that DO offer meaningful customer service AND a good spa experience. I would be totally embarrassed if I was the owner of this place. I have an OB.GYN friend who's wife operates a similar business where I live and she would be outraged at this behavior/treatment of a large party and fire that front desk guy on the spot!! To the owner: you have my cellphone number on the intake form at the spa- If I had known I could apply the treatments to something else I would've done it for myself at that time with either an extended massage or manicure for myself obviously I did not know about the cancellation policy and your staff Was horrible!! read more

The Spa at Yellow Creek is the spa to visit! The treatments they offer are very unique. I had the best facial of my life which was customized to my specific needs, and the Carita products are amazing. The entire staff was professional and attentive. I came with a group of 5 of Saturday afternoon as part of a bachelorette celebration. The spa was very easy to work with while making reservations and selecting procedures, and happy to accomodate our group. The place was very nice. We got to chit chat in the "relaxation room" for a while before and after our treatments, which was nice, and they brought us a variety of beverages (hot tea, water, mimosa, champagne) and a tray of cheeses, crackers, fruit, and trail mix. The robes were comfy and the locker room was clean. I had a cold stone sinus facial, which was very nice. The others all had massages and said they were good. The spa didn't have any problem with splitting up our bill in a complicated way that we requested, and were happy to accept my Spa Wish gift certificates. read more

Absolutely, by far, the worst spa I have ever been to in my life. I have been to this spa in the past, several times only because my boyfriend belonged here and he would use the gym as it was close to his home. He would buy a massage for me every once in a while and I did not have the heart to tell him not to waste his money on this spa. I finally decided to write a review after my last time there recently when I just couldn't take it anymore. I was looking for somewhere to get a massage at the spur of the moment and after calling all the other area spas first, only to find out they were booked, I called Yellow Creek. Well, sorry to say NOTHING has changed, in fact it's even worse. To start, the locker room, if you can even call it that, was filthy. The toilets barely even flushed. The set up of the spa is terrible as there is barely any privacy. When I changed and went to the sitting area it was FILTHY! I mean not just a mess but all of the cream colored chairs were clearly dirty and had dirt stains all over them. For so many reasons this spa failed miserably previously, one was that the massage therapist I had several times smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. I was really hoping I did not get her this last time, well I didn't, I got one even worse! She not only smelled terribly of cigarette smoke but she was continuously hacking, yes, I mean hacking the entire time. It was so disgusting I almost asked her to leave so that I could get dressed and leave. Even worse, because her hands were massaging me she was not even covering her cough. Seriously??? She was hacking right over me. For the first 15 minutes she rubbed the same area, my upper chest and a little of the back of my neck, I swear I have a bruise from it. I almost feel that because this was the area she was doing while "seated" at the top of my head that she was just lazy and kept doing the same motion and area so that she could keep sitting. Not to mention, it didn't even feel good. Well, I have finally decided to leave a review on this awful, dirty, unprofessional spa. Quite frankly, I am not even sure how it is still open. Maybe that explains why they were the only one that had a time available in the area at the spur of the moment for a massage. read more

I've had some amazing deep tissue massages in my life and I can hands down say that Suzette is BY FAR the best I've ever had. Such attention to detail and clearly a complete master at what she does! Went here to get a couple's massage, and couldn't have been happier. I got a great massage from Dawn, we were both treated very well, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing. We both felt very comfortable here, and we loved the champagne and mimosa after the massage! read more
