The Spa at West Main was once The Spa at Roop's Mill. Unfortunately, they ruined one of the best days of my life. My wedding. I made my bridal party's makeup appointment for 9 AM months prior to my wedding. A week after I made the appointment, I was called and asked if I would move my appointment up. I really didn't want too, but I was trying to be nice and I did which resulted in me having to move my bridal parties hair appointments around as they were being done at the place we were getting married. We were just having our makeup done. We were supposed to be getting our makeup done at the Luxe Beauty Bar that was owned by this spa that had a horseshoe table and a decent sized room so we could relax, get our makeup done together and have some snacks and mimosas before the wedding. As I was making sure everything was in gear, two weeks before the wedding I called the spa to make sure everything was still good with my appointment. Luckily I did that because they moved my time even further back. When I got to the spa the day of my wedding they then informed me they overbooked with 2 teen girls that were going to prom. They put my girls, my Mom, Mother in Law, Aunt and I which were supposed to be in the big room with the horse shoe table into the room they used for the hair coloring on the porch which is really only big enough for 4 people comfortably. Instead, we had our snacks shoved in a corner, my Aunt hanging in the door way, and the girls had to come and go because there were five bridesmaids, me and my Mom and Mother in Law getting their makeup done. My Mom was sitting in front of the cash register because that was the only place there was room and there were workers coming in and constantly typing over her head and asking her if she could "scooch out of the way for a second". I thought that they should've asked the two teenage girls who yes, had an important day going to prom to come up into the color room so we could have been comfortable and have snacks and listen to some music while I prepared for the biggest and most important moment of my life. I'm sorry, but I just feel a wedding party should have a little more ranking than a prom party. Instead, I was crammed into a stuffy room with no room to breathe, no music and couldn't be with all of my girls at once and didn't even offer to take money off of our bill. I'll never make another appointment here ever again and it's unfortunate because a few of my friends work here and the girls that did my makeup did a really great job and deserve to get all the business in the world because they are amazing but I feel like they could've made my day more special than it was and they only made me feel like I was getting a back alley treatment becauseit was as if Michelle Obama was in the next room getting all the attention. Haha! Like seriously, for the money they charged they should have been a little better with customer service especially since I moved my times around to better suite them and they double booked me!!! NOTE TO ALL BRIDES: please go elsewhere to get your makeup done. I'd really hate for you to have the same experience as me. I got married almost 2 years ago and I'm still deeply hurt by this and I've been debating about writing a review but I ultimately decided to write one because I don't want any of your days being treated as it weren't special when it absolutely is! If any of you need referrals for other great places, I'd be more than happy to help you out by giving you my friend, Nicole's information! I haven't been since they have moved because I've been so upset about what they had done to me for my wedding. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. While the stylists do good work and are very customer oriented, they are by no means ion the same page as the owner. Warning- if you go here expecting a great wedding experience, save your money and frustration. I was a party of a bridal party getting ready at the salon. The stylists were on time and got right to work on several girls before we arrived with the bride. Although I was not there at the beginning of the appointment, there was some attitude given by the owner of the salon to the earlier girls. Regardless, the room downstairs was a great place to get ready and relax. The set out wine glasses for us so we felt welcome to enjoy mimosas while getting ready. In addition, the bride confirmed with the owner that we could byob. There were a total of 7 of us getting ready over the course of 5 hours. Apparently there was a misunderstanding as to us being able to stay at the salon until the wedding shuttle got us, but by no means did the owner even try to address anyone in the wedding party with a respectful tone. By the time we were dressed, the owner was getting more and more irritated. We thought the salon was beautiful and were trying to take pictures. We were having a great time. I understand that we were not aware that there were massages being done on the second floor, but the owner could have politely said, "excuse me ladies, I understand that you're having a great time, but please respect that there are massages taking place on the second floor." Instead we got, "if you are going to be loud, get outside, there are massages up there because we are a full salon so be quiet for get out." We all lowered our voices and then left to take pictures outside. We returned inside to freshen up, and about 15 mins later the salon owner storms downstairs saying that we have to leave and they are cleaning up. The girls and I knew that we did make a small mess, but we worked to put it in the only trash can there and straighten up. The salon owner implied that we all drank too much and that she is liable for us drinking in her establishment if we drive, her cop husband was outside and told us that if we leave he is out there. I can only assume as to scare us into not driving. This was so inappropriate. We only had 3 bottles of champagne for 7 people. By no means were any of us drunk. Not only was her tone accusatory but clearly we were not welcome. Startled by the harsh and unnecessary tone, several bridesmaids attempted to understand her reasoning which just made the owner begin yelling at us. Reminder she was kicking us out of a salon we were going to picked up at, it was a July wedding and very hot outside, and she upset the bride. This whole situation could have been avoided by her asking questions as to when we were leaving or how we were getting to the wedding, which she cared nothing about. According to the owner, she bent over backwards for us and she was tired of us being in her salon. To make matters worse, as we waited outside to be picked up by groomsmen to figure out where to go, the owners husband in his truck was watching us to see what we were doing and if anyone was going to drive. As a 30 year old woman, I never expected to be talked so disrespectfully to and especially on my best friends wedding day. She nearly ruined the day for the bride. The stylists are great, but do not give this woman your business if you are a bride. Go somewhere where you and your party will be treated with dignity and respect. Do not go here. It's a beautiful place with a horrible owner. read more

I like Dawn's edginess and willing to tell me the truth. Everyone is always smiling and offering free services such as a complementary hand massage while I was waiting. After the last pedicure with Nicole, I accidentally messed up the big toenail. No real biggie since snow was on the ground, negating the desire for sandals or open toed shoes. However, Nicole took her time to make it perfect again, well beyond my expectations. That's the caliber of the staff at The Spa and I'm grateful to each of them for their skill and hard work. Last week I had the most marvelous facial from Debbi. I left feeling so refreshed and my face younger and healthier. Debbi also gave me tips to keep my skin feeling and looking good. The shoulder, hand and foot massage, included, was an added relaxing bonus! So, yesterday I had a hair highlighting appointment at The Spa with Dawn (whom I've followed for years). While I was under the dryer, Debbi appears and says she would like to give me a complimentary hand massage while I wait for my hair color to set! What a marvelous treat! Very Poor Service. I waited in the waiting room for 40 minutes. Not one person at the front desk offered to assist me with either a drink or to check with my hairstylist as to why my appointment was so late. (They were too busy buying jewelry and ordering their dinner) Then my hairstylist came out to the waiting room and proceeded to overlook me and take the appointment after me. When I went to the front desk they said "Oh sorry would you like to reschedule"....Reschedule are you kidding me... Not one person followed up with me or even tried to rectify the problem. This was my third time at this salon with this same stylist. I truly do not think I will be going back there. read more

I have been going to Brett for a few months now and she is an absolute gem! I've lived in NYC for many years and I've spent more money on haircuts than I'd like to say. My parents live in Westminster so whenever I'm in town I book an appointment with Brett. I have never a stylist so consistently spot on. I always walk out happy with gorgeous locks. I got a manicure here then immediately went to Target to get nail polish remover and a $3 bottle of polish. So expensive, so terrible, so overwhelmingly disappointing. They did my hair (updo) for my wedding & it was fantastic ( I believe Shannon did it). But I got a color & cut one other time & it was a little too snobby for my liking. The lady left conditioning treatment on my hair & went out & smoked a cigarette & came back to wash my hair smelling not so nice. They just don't make you feel very welcome. read more

Worst manicure I've ever had in my life and the most expensive. The girl, Brett, was anything but customer service oriented. She lacked confidence and professionalism. I'm pretty sure my 4 year old niece can paint my nails better than she did. It's a shame because this would've been my go to place for my wedding preparations. I had an awful experience 2 times now. I know i should not have gone back but i like to give nice folks and local businesses the benefit of the doubt. My first time there i had a photo of what i wanted and got nothing like it and then the color completely washed out. Luckily Dawn was nice enough to try and fix it but it still wasn't what it was supposed to be. This time i took a photo and i got nothing like it. Called to complain and was told i would be charged to fix it. I have all the photos of before and afters and what it was supposed to be. Very, Very unhappy and wish i was able to leave better feed back because all in all the staff is very nice! read more

DO NOT buy a "gift card" at this spa. The services are good but they do not honor the gift cards. They charge the reciepient more when they appear for their appointment claiming that the prices have gone up. We were very surprised and disappointed, but were not willing to walk away after the giver had already spent $250.00 for our gift. read more
