Director Ms. Nargis advised us not to worry, as kids can pick up English quickly -- indeed, she was right! By the end of the school year, both kids had learned to speak English decently well, could read simple books, and write simple sentences. My first child went on to Kindergarten and tested out of ESOL. We liked that students work on fundamentals like reading, writing, and math at a desk, but they also have independent play time to choose a hands-on activity around the classroom. They also clean up after themselves. AAIMS has a big outdoor playground for recess and they have weekly Playball time. AAIMS also offers ballet, karate, tennis, table tennis, and Spanish lessons for those who want to sign up, at a reasonable extra cost. AAIMS holds events to highlight the various cultural backgrounds of the students, which we really appreciated. Since then, I have seen the long term positive impact from Kumon's teaching method over the last 2 years. It has made me a firm believer in their teaching method. When we moved to Georgia, I wanted my kids to continue with Kumon. The location in Sugar Hill was the closest to me. I found out this was a new center and was not sure what to make of it. I was not sure if it would be better than the one we were attending in Tampa. After three months at this location, I am completely blown away by the wonderful service provided by the instructor, Mrs. Cherry. Mrs. Cherry updates me frequently on their progress, but I can see for myself their academics has accelerated since coming here. She has a passion for education and knows how to interact with kids. My kids enjoy coming here, and I get to knock out my grocery shopping at the Publix next door while they are in class. Win Win! Their price is very competitive. I've spoken to some neighbors who were unsatisfied at another company. I ask how much they pay. I said no no no! You need to send them to Mrs. Cherry. You'll pay less and get better results. So now they are enrolled too :) This new center certainly is a great benefit to the community. My advice to everyone is - go to the kumon.com website and read up on their method, individualized lesson planning and self learning concept. Make an appointment to talk to Mrs. Cherry and bring your kids in for a placement test (it's free). Then go from there!

My friend, who does not read or write in English, signed up her son in July of 2017. The son was not happy with the tutoring service and the mother withdrew him in in May of 2018. The sign up and termination were done in person. The mother paid for 12 months in advance and did not ask for a refund for the remaining two months on the contract. The woman at this office had the mother sign for ongoing payments even though the mother only wanted 12 months of service which she paid for in advance. When the mother terminated the services the same person failed to record the termination and three months after terminating Cornerstone Academic began charging the mother's credit card for $139 each month. Now they refuse to refund any of the money.

Received a call from Director indicating there will no camp due to lack of interest. SERIOUS?!?! To be notified 3 days before camp is supposed to start is poor customer service. Now, I need to find camp for my kids on Monday with so little time. This business is a learning center supposed to help kids with academic success and provide personal attention, yet there is a lack of organization in simple scheduling and communication, which is an indicator for me as to how well they would really help my kids.

They treat us like family, often going over and above to accommodate us. The facility itself is a wonderful learning environment... clean, bright, colorful modern facility with a designated computer area, reading nook and private study rooms. The door between the lobby and classroom is securely locked, which is a wonderful safety feature I haven't seen at other afterschool tutoring programs.
