Sparrow's Mill Express is a new offshoot of the popular Sparrow's Mill restaurant in Koreatown. The original restaurant is famous for its Korean style fried chicken, and this new offshoot is no exception, there are probably a dozen types of fried chicken on the menu, with both single serves (with fries) and share plates of crispy, delicious fried chook. One thing I will mention is that the varieties of fried chicken available for single feeds are a bit limited, if you want to fully experience this place it's best to bring a friend.
In addition to the fried chicken, there is also a more traditional Korean menu, with bibimbaps, noodle soups and all the usual Korean dishes, as well as a bunch of Korean desserts. Can't say I've tried either of these though, so I can't comment.
Where Sparrow's Mill Express loses points though is service, it took over 10 minutes for them to prepare our order (one fried chicken share plate), which is a bit long in an 'express' joint, especially since we were the only customers. Maybe it's because the place is new. read more
