One of the best açaí bowls I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. Friendly and quick service.

We love this place. Such a nice alternative to traditional ice cream and much healthier. The staff is also super friendly.

We had been wanting to try this place since moving here. It's less than a mile from our house, and…read morethe Google photos made it look incredible. Smoothies, açaí bowls, premade meals, the whole package. I walked in with expectations, which was my first mistake. The ordering area is extremely small. There's barely enough space to stand, let alone browse or get oriented. Instead of overhead menus, you're expected to quickly flip through laminated menus kept in bins, mark your order on a sheet with a marker, and hand it to the cashier. There are no visible menus for the premade meals at all. The setup feels rushed and unintuitive, especially for first-time customers. There is virtually no seating. The few available seats were occupied by employees during our visit, which made the space feel even less welcoming. Another customer walked in while we were there and appeared just as confused about how to order, and unfortunately didn't receive much guidance. Functionality-wise, I'd rate the experience a 2/10. The space is overwhelming, poorly laid out, and not customer-friendly unless you already know the system. The food itself was good. The açaí bowl was a 7/10, but because ordering felt stressful, I didn't customize it and ordered it as-is, which I now regret. This café seems best suited for people who already frequent the gym next door and are familiar with the process. For anyone new, busy, or just stopping in casually, it's not an easy or comfortable experience. I truly wanted to love this place, and there's potential here, but the layout, lack of clear menus, and overall flow work against it.

The coffee is great and they have non dairy friendly options. The smoothie bowls are delicious and you can get really any combination you're looking for. Being attached to a fitness facility, they also have supplements, shirts, healthy meal prep, smoothies, etc. The staff/owners are wonderful. Not a great place to sit and work just as a heads up. There aren't really any outlets and only a few tables, but that's fine! Don't think thats the crowd they're catering to anyway. I will definitely stop by when I'm here visiting family or for work.

The three girls that were working were so loud talking amongst each other was over stimulating I couldn't even concentrate to place my order. Then they turned on music and began to sing. I enjoy music as much as the next person. I'd rather of heard alley cats than what I was experiencing today. It's very echoing inside. Not the previous pleasant calming experiences as before. Had to leave and eat in my car instead of enjoying the prior experience. Maybe the new owner could figure something out. The product was still really good though. Update: Wow I drove up the street to eat my bowl in peace, a police officer came up to me and said there was a call about a suspicious person (meaning me) because I walked back inside after I received my order to look at the menu to make sure it was correct because of the ruckus and walked back out. Update again: I didn't say the music was on while ordering that came on after the fact. I was going to sit and enjoy my bowl but the music was too loud. There wasn't anyone else but myself in there when I was ordering. The employee girls were loud amongst themselves. The customers you mentioned were there when I walked back in to check the menu and I walked back outside. Nothing suspicious about that. You've just lost a customer and who knows word of mouth is a good or bad thing. But hey your girls can do no wrong. Security cameras? As I said I've been coming there for years and all of the sudden I'm making this up out of the blue. Screw You!

It's been awhile so I stopped in this morning on the way to the beach with my little girl. Ambiance was a bit awkward and rushed today, even though there was barely anyone inside. I ordered a smoothie and a few of the little treats, those are normally my favorite. The smoothie tasted good and I shared it was my little girl. The treats were okay. The peanut butter and the express yo self both tasted pretty fresh. The brownie batter had a really sour flavor. I will have to give this place another try in the future, something was definitely off today.

While visiting family nearby in Chiefland, we stopped into Cedar Key one morning before our trip concluded. It was a Wednesday in July, and overall the area was not super busy. We came up to The Prickly Palm around noon on a Wednesday in July, and were one of a few customers there. This coffee trailer is located in the main part of Cedar Key. I recently learned that they used to have a brick and mortar, but that was unfortunately destroyed by the hurricane last year. Despite this, their trailer and whole current set-up is very cute and inviting. The trailer is set up along 2nd Street, and sits in the back of the lot. You will see a sandwich board sign indicating where the lot is, along with a ton of outdoor seating under tents. There is not a dedicated parking lot specifically for The Prickly Pear, but we had no issue finding street parking right near the entrance. The menu here is very diverse and full of variety! Not only do they have coffee, but there are also smoothies, açaí bowls, milkshakes, and breakfast items. I was especially impressed with the variety of flavoring for the coffees. Sometimes, places only have a few flavors. However, there was a solid collection of flavors and different combinations marketed for customers to choose from! It seems like there are seasonal options available, as they had a lot of banana coffee options on this particular day. I appreciated the different sizing options for the coffee. Especially for the iced, as typically a lot of local coffee places do not have bigger sizes (comparable to a Dunkin or Starbucks). The Large Iced is 32OZ, which was a pleasant surprise! They did seem to have a size for everyone, whether they want a lot of coffee or just a regular amount. I personally ended up ordering a Large Iced Banana Nut Mocha Latte, but requested half of the syrups to tone down the sweetness. It was really good! I am iffy at times on banana flavoring, as I am not a fan of artificial banana. Even so, I liked this latte and enjoyed it throughout the afternoon. The others I was with all enjoyed their drinks as well! This was my first time visiting here, and the employees could not have been more welcoming! I asked for recommendations and their favorites, and they gave a lot of good suggestions and information. There were three of us total, each getting a large latte or cold brew. The total was a little under $30 for all of it. So, this place is a little more expensive than other spots, but I do believe the value is there. Plus, you are supporting a small business which is a win! Loved visiting The Prickly Palm for the first time. We tend to come to the area at least once a year, and I look forward to our next visit so I can make another trip to The Prickly Palm for a delicious latte! I would recommend giving this spot a try if you find yourself in Cedar Key.
