I was a…read morechubby kid in the 90s, so it was somewhat embarrassing for me to wear a leotard and tights to prance around as a child. However, the dance teacher (and owner) Jennifer never made me feel out of the ordinary or left out from any of the dance recitals or classes. She always made sure I participated and had a role, no matter how slight. Slowly but surely, I gained confidence over time and was able to dance my heart out in front of strangers despite my size. For plus-sized children, I would highly recommend taking dance classes here at The Little Dance World and to find community in the dance world. I remember making a lot of friends here as a kid and even though we don't keep in touch anymore, I recall a lot of fun times here at The Little Dance World. Whether it be learning how to dance Chinese folklore or hip-hop, I would entrust Jennifer and company to teach your children several things, such as how to be kind to each other, maintaining a code of conduct and professionalism, and learning how to do some fun exercises via dance. Even though I don't dance anymore, I loved dancing when I was a kid and would recommend others to check this place out. Dance is such an incredible mode of self-expression and what better way to get your kids to dance early on in their childhood. They'll be able to retain some of the skills I mentioned above and apply it to their education and even the workforce. Thanks Jennifer (and shout out to her daughter Melody)!! I'll always have fond memories of this place.

We signed up our daughter for Monday night beginners folklorico through the city. Classes were great. Good instructor. Repetitive and age appropriate. The business is FULL OF HIDDEN FEES. The registration is 40 dollars. Okay, great! Right? We show up and they say it'll be another 160 for shoes, skirt, undershorts and hair net. Red flag, but fine. We paid it. Then for the performance they say we need a DIFFERENT SKIRT- which apparently they also charged for. I would not know because it was not communicated to me that the girls need to match. I asked what type of dress would be needed and where to purchase. They said olvera street for about 200. Okay, my daughter is invested so fine. No biggie. We show up to performance and EVERYONE ELSE HAD MATCHING SKIRTS. It was NEVER communicated to me. So my daughter performed in a different outfit. They charged us for a studio danza shirt and another white shirt. There are SO MANY HIDDEN FEES AND RED FLAGS ABOUT THIS PLACE! Small space for a lot of children and families. Many parents find themselves sitting on the floor. Luisa is nice and the instructor is great, but I think the whole thing is shady. I will not be returning to this studio. If you can find another place to do Folklorico- do it. I don't mean to be so direct and mean, but I want to help other families not make the same mistakes I did.

My husband couldn't find the location and he was told they couldn't talk and hang up on him. To many details but I'll start with the most important ones. 1. It was the wrong location apparently they moved and didn't bother to tell the city to update the information. 2. The establishment has no running Air conditioning or ventilation. 3. The dance studio is small and kids barely have room to move. 4. Staff is rude and not welcoming. Do yourself a favor and don't sign up to establishment and save yourself a huge disappointment.

We were looking for something new to change up our workout and someone decided to visit and grab a flier. I'll admit the first time I walked in I was a little leery, as I am with most new places I have not gone to. It wasn't particularly crowded, but it was snug, this was on a Wednesday afternoon. The music was loud (sometimes too loud, but you don't go to Zumba expecting a quiet concert) and the moves were fast and fierce, and the instructor seems good and invested in her students, at least Sandra was, I've only ever had her. And, like I said, $2 a class. The next time we went was on a Tuesday, it was a bit more crowded, and unfortunately my co-workers and I came in as a group and we added a few more bodies. This did not make the natives, the usuals, very happy. We heard some grumbling about how us newbies were taking up space, but it petered out. This shouldn't be surprising, since it will happen to most anywhere you go. I still continue to go, it's been over a month and my co-workers and I enjoy it. Let me tell you, you will sweat like you've never sweated before. Sweat will drip from places you didn't know could sweat. You'll sweat and you'll like it!

When I first walked…read morethrough the doors, I had zero CrossFit experience, very little exercise experience at all, and a huge fear of being in such a hyper-masculine environment. Fast forward to today, and I'm leaving to a new state with skills and confidence I never imagined possible: throwing weight over my head and squatting it, getting a double-under with a jump rope, running a full mile without stopping, and so much more. I'm also leaving in the best shape of my life and with friendships that feel more like family. This gym is incredibly welcoming and supportive of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels. The workouts are both challenging and fun, and the coaches truly care about helping you reach your personal goals. Whether you want to compete, run a 5k, or simply get in a great workout, they'll listen and guide you every step of the way. If you're new to CrossFit, know that it will be challenging at first, but if you pace yourself and stick with it, you'll likely fall in love with it just like so many of us have, ESPECIALLY at Big Bang Athletics.

They don't make me hate the work out (not always anyways haha) and I feel comfortable walking in to the box on my own, not feeling like I don't fit in or that I shouldn't be there. The members here are very welcoming and nice, and I think that's the type of environment the owner, Fernando, really tries to embrace at the box. I would dread going to the gym, but I don't ever feel that way at Big Bang. When I miss a day, I actually look forward to my next workout day. I've been going for about 4 months now and if you're looking for challenging workouts to test yourself mentally and physically, Big Bang is a place to go. I've lifted weights that I never thought I would be able to do all thanks to the coaches here. One of the things that I love about going here is that the coaches top priority is your safety. So they focus on form and technique to ensure you're doing the movements right without hurting yourself. They don't expect you to lift heavy and would prefer that you go light with correct form than to do heavy with bad form that would lead to injuries. They watch your work out and correct your form as needed. On top of that, they are very motivating. Not only are they watching you for your safety, but they're cheering you on to keep moving. And this isn't done in an aggressive way to keep you moving, but in an encouraging way like they believe in you. The members here are the same! Some members from the prior class will stick around to do cool down or what not, but they also encourage you to keep moving during your workout as well and help you if needed. They'll even encourage you to put on more weight to challenge yourself. You'll be surprised what you can actually do if you tried. I feel myself getting stronger each time and honestly I love the idea of working out 10-20 minute work out a day and feel like I got a total body workout. It totally beats going to the gym for an hour and I feel more efficient during my short WOD. Plus each day is different, so I know I'm working every part of my body and not letting it be missed. The movements may be similar, but each day is always different during the week. So you won't ever get bored of the workout.. just maybe tired haha.
