The Spring Gardens in Marple Bridge opened in 2016 and is the tap house for Fool Hardy Ales (which has been brewed since 2013 at the owners' flagship pub The Hope Inn in Heaton Norris in Stockport).
They have a large range of cask ales, craft lagers, continental draught & bottled beers and real cider and are a breath of fresh air not being a pub-co, but a true indie boozer serving hearty meals as well.
Food offerings are pretty good, with starters ranging from £5-6 and main courses £8-16.50. I can definitely recommend their Steak and Fool Hardy dark ale pie served with triple cooked chips and vegetables.
The pub is deceptively spacious and modern inside (which somewhat detracts from the old-fashioned exterior - a bit of a shame for those wishing for old pub charm).
It's set in over 4 acres of land which includes a bowling green, beer garden, car park and area of woodland.
A family-friendly pub, and well worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.
