Location is good. The leasing office employees are really nice. Having the Starbucks coffee is nice and the roof top is nice. Yes, the gates do break quite often. Maintenance commits to fixing things at a certain time but does not show up. They have come by to "fix" my washer 4 times now yet it's still not working and it gets worse each time they come. When you stop by the leasing office on the weekend, very rarely is someone there. Fireplace on both the roof top and next to pool are broken. The pool is no longer heated. A Valet service, Dry cleaning, maintenance is superman fast, efficient and helpful. We are near everything or it easily arrives - but the reason we are staying is Tracy our manager and her staff. Update to my review-6 months later and this place still sucks. The new management was super nice and accommodating until I signed my renewal. Now they completely ignore my requests and complaints. An elephant moved in above me who stomps back and forth all hours of the day. I've complained, I've pounded on my ceiling, I've sent emails, I've called management and I've cried myself to sleep and this idiot still goes unbothered above me. As I type this, it sounds like my neighbor is BOWLING up there. What type of inconsiderate moron living in a "luxury" apartment does that? Management refuses to address the situation. The "security" they've hired has been called out to the unit three times in the last week and it has not been rectified. If you are not an avid traveler or if you actually like to come home to a peaceful apartment after a long day of work, this is NOT the place for you. Don't even get me started on the lack of cleanliness of the common areas. Since the new management has taken over, the outside is no longer hosed off where the resident pets urinate outside the back door. Just imagine how awesome that smells on these hot summer days! If you're considering this place, don't do it. High Street actually has insulation in their apartments or there will be 300 brand new units built across the parking lot next year and several other brand new complexes within a mile radius within a year. Now parking, before the new developments in the area such as the hotel being built and restaurants etc was ok. Now good luck even in the day the bar in front utilizes all of the front and side parking and their valet takes up the whole alley almost! - side note wants on an occasion coming home from work there was actually a pack of coyotes near the alley where I had no choice to park ; due to no parking And don't dare think you're gonna park anywhere illegally for 15 minutes because there's constantly police patrolling waiting to give a parking ticket or tow your shit. Next there's so many young kids living here. Can you imagine what comes with that- yep tons of parties tons of weed tons of Loud kids!! It's annoying walking through the gated section where the balconies over to look there's always young boys making sly and inappropriate comments! Oh and WEED WEED WEED - I didn't sign up to live in a dispensary. Now most importantly crass and unprofessional management!! Rude and unprofessional all around. Tracy is the worst of all. Never had an answer for any issues and had a dumb excuse for every complaint as If the tenants are incompetent and only she knows why these terrible experiences have came about and we are just retarded or something to think there is loud noises in apartments. Units are beautiful and spacious (we have a 2bed 2bath), complex is clean, and amenities are easily accessible and gorgeous! This is a gated property and we pay over $2500/month to live in a 2 bedroom and their privacy gates are ALWAYS broken. Daily. There has not been one week that they have not been broke. They are open partially and will not close, while there are homeless people at every corner 2 blocks away. We moved here expecting our child to be safe inside a property only accessible to tenants, yet they could care less. If safety and privacy and an up scale location is what you're looking for- do not move to this complex. The Halsten next door is tenfold better. read more

Thank you Jacque for your devotion to residents and the property. You rock! Review 2 of 2: The manager at this particular Pillar location needs to be replaced. While she's kind most times, she's completely and deliberately lazy and unhelpful. I'll walk you through my experiences with this location: 1. My dryer caught on fire. Yep, you heard it. On fire. When Angel (who absolutely rocks I'd like to point out) on the maintenance team came by he quickly repaired it...but my problem is that the appliances are clearly not checked in between tenants. This could have been extremely dangerous to not just me, but the entire apartment community. It was not over full, and was not running longer than it should have been. A part was confirmed to be displaced, the entire thing was disassembled to fix this. I'm so thankful for Angel coming to the rescue and I'm not putting blame on any one person or department, but just make sure you run all your appliances the instant you walk in, or even request that they come by and look at them for you. If they say no, try to terminate your lease.. 2. I lived in apartment 1046, I took stellar care of that place. But I can't help being located on the first floor next to the pool equipment station. I had no problems with it, until one morning I woke up to 2 entire inches of water filling my entire patio. It ruined my outdoor furniture and my outdoor rugs. I mentioned this to the management, and Tracy's response was "the people above you must have been washing their patio". I couldn't even think to take that kind of response seriously. So she apparently sent out a note to everyone letting them know the risk of doing so on a 2+ floor apartment. Well, shocker folks, it happened not once more, not twice more, but 6 more times after that. After the third time I mentioned it, finally was told it was the pool pump flooding it. Yeah no kidding... so fast forward and nothing was done about my outdoor furniture or my rugs. They only told me if they were outdoor furniture it could be exposed to rain. HAH in Arizona. Yes we get our fair share, but nothing that would fill my patio 6 times with two inches of water. 3. The Neighbor's dog pooped on my patio. Which also ruined my rugs. Admittedly it's not the management's fault, but it was hardly acknowledged and not sure anything was even said to them. Just gross, honestly SO gross. The manager suggested that it might be my dog, but my dog weighs 75 pounds and I can assure you unless I was feeding her next to nothing, those turds were not hers...and I wouldn't let her ever poop on the patio. Disgusting. 4. Yes COVID affectedly everyone differently, and I was very much agreeing with shutting down community spaces. HOWEVER, I am appalled that every resident in this place was charged the community fee for upkeep on spaces that weren't even being used. If no one is genuinely allowed to use the space, I'm not sure it's at all fair that we paid for it in the times they we're closed. Did we need to run the AC on 72 in a space no one was using? I think not. I guess what I'm boiling this all down to is that the management will make everything your fault, hoping you'll give up arguing and let it go. I've never ever lived somewhere where everything that goes wrong is some how my fault, or another resident's fault BUT never their own. Things happen, I'm aware, but to then not take ownership? It's your property way more than it is mine. Your paycheck comes from what we all pay as residents so I am not sure how turning it around on us when we are paying SO much for these apartments is fair at all. I would absolutely not recommend living at this location. I believe some things are accidents and some things are deliberate. And I just hope you don't have to experience it like I did. The apartment itself was lovely aside from all the struggles. So if you're looking for a second location to live or a vacation spot, I would recommend it. Just know everything that ever happens falls on your shoulders and it's never the manager's fault. read more

Paying more than 1500/mo for 700sq ft I have issues with what sounds of bigfoot in the unit living above me, my neighbor next to me and their music, and young 20 somethings treating the pool like their own Maya. I've had issues multiple times with the mail carrier not delivering mail at this location. I also had an instance where maintenance came in to fix my tub while I was traveling for business... well they left my apartment unlocked, my bathroom a disaster with the shower doors off, they turned the ac off in the middle of July so I came home for a short 2 day return to an apartment at 92 degrees, and took the screen off of the window in the bedroom and left the window open leaving everything in my bedroom open to the AZ summer elements... and they did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation other than day "oops sorry" read more

We jut recently moved to Scottsdale from upstate NY and didn't know what to expect from apartment hunting. We were almost certainly going to move into another place but, just in case, decided to check out the View at Cascade just because it was on our list. We are so beyond happy we did. Our leasing agent was Jacqueline, and we immediately got the best vibes from her. Laid-back, genuine, personable, funny...she went above and beyond to explain every little detail and we got the sense that we really were welcome. Many other places we checked out seemed like they were trying to hustle us into an apartment to get our money and maybe were a bit snobby, especially given that they are luxury apartments. Jacqueline efficiently took care of every single one of our concerns as they arose. The apartments at View at Cascade themselves are DEFINITELY luxury apartments. Everything is brand new, the walls are well sound-proofed (either that or no one is ever home because we don't hear so much as even a footstep above us lol), the grounds are well-kept, and even though it's barely been a week since move-in, I get the feeling that if any issues did arise, we would be promptly taken care of. The monthly rent was slightly over what we wanted to spend, but they had a promo going at the time, and it's honestly worth every single penny, promo or no promo. The location is absolutely PERFECT...seriously it's a matter of minutes from anywhere you wanted to go. Right off the 101, Whole Foods is next door, Walmart and Target down the street, restaurants scattered around within a stones throw from the apartments. Absolutely perfect, couldn't ask for better. It's very rare that I have no complaints but I truly have none. We couldn't be happier and hopefully we have nothing but good updates in the future. read more

Extremely disappointed. We signed for a move in special concession to be prorated over the life of our entire lease (making our monthly payment cheaper). After we signed a lease, they took half of our concession and used it towards move in costs. They did so by HIDING the terms in a sheet of paper that we signed with NO explanation AT ALL. We realize it's our fault for not reading what we signed, however no explanation and no apology? All I got was "it was a sad mistake, we can't do anything". It's not about the money, it's about the morals..they have none clearly. read more

I moved into the The View at Cascade about the beginning of June 2018. I had to shuffle my move in date when I was first moving in due to a job change, but Anthony (who has since left the company to move out of state) was perfectly willing to work with me and accommodate my needs. Living in the apartment has been wonderful. I have lived in a house for over 18 years, and this was my first apartment in a long time and I couldn't like it more than I do. I see in other Yelp reviews, that there used to be noise complaints, but I rarely if ever hear my neighbors. Sometimes, I feel like the loudest person around as I walk down the hallways. Friends that come to visit comment on how quiet it always is. The facilities and amenities are beautiful. The fitness center is pretty spectacular and I gave up my gym membership because it's so convenient. The pool lounge and SkyView Lounge are both wonderful spaces for entertaining. And Kimberly and Rebecca in the front office are so very nice, and helpful whenever I need anything. I couldn't recommend this place enough. read more

This is one of the worst apartment living called luxury in my time of renting. They (Staff and Management) will promise you everything until you move in. The place is dirty. The Hall ways smell due to their so called trash pick up policy and the floors in the common areas are very dirty. The noise level is like living in a frat house. Screaming and yelling all hours of the day and night. When speaking to the management about this they stated" this is normal apartment living and people need to make noise." I found this entire experience to be less then luxury living. I ended up moving out before my lease was over because I could not sleep in my so called luxury apartment. I would not rent from this place if you have and other options. Truly a disappointment on all levels!!!! read more

location is nice and staff is helpful but I can't get over how cheap made this place is. it's advertised as "luxury" though in the 5 months ive lived here my apartment is completely falling apart. they dont thoroughly go through apartment between tenants. When I first moved in the air vents were disgusting, I had a serious cough for weeks which put me in the hospital, I called multiple times and they kept putting it off until I pretty much begged. my cabinets falling off (if you have kids huge danger) light fixtures go on and off, blinds break, doors janky, extremely loud street noise at every hour of the day and night, improvements done at wrong time of year (shut down pool in April for a month), the list goes on. i enjoy the community but I feel like I was scammed so I will not be resigning. read more

If I could do zero stars, I would. My daughter leased an apartment here last September. She passed away suddenly last week. In dealing with Gina, the "property manager", it has been the most frustrating experience I have had to contend with during all of this nightmare. I immediately contacted the office and cleaned out her apartment but had a difficult time getting any call back from the complex. I tried to do the right thing and it's now become more of a nightmare. Gina did finally get in touch with me today to let me know that if we paid $2,000 we could then get out of the lease. Apparently it still hasn't registered with them that my daughter has died and we aren't able to pay anything. I will be letting everyone know that this is how Cascades handles a tragedy like this. They give it their all in their work and don't complain about it. Not only do they have great work ethic, their personalities are delightful and engaging. They always bring sunshine to my day. Don't move here unless you want to be dealing with BS. This is probably the most poorly managed apartment I've been to. Manager Tracy is rude and unwilling to do anything to help when things need fixing. Instead of offering solutions she offers negativity and will belittle you for complaining. Our washer and dryer was destroying our clothes and after several attempts over a year time to get it replaced I gave up and contacted their corporate office. The regional manager came to our place to assess what the issue was (manager never did that) offered to replace the unit (manager never did that) and gave us a rent credit for having so much damaged clothing (manager never did that). I will say that the reason Im okay with 1star is because some of the maintenance staff has been great and Kim in the office was always so kind and willing to help. (She no longer works there) Parking is very limited, hopefully you get home before 5pm to get a parking space within the gate. Even if it is within the gate, most of the time the gates are broken. They have a lack of communication and urgency. The place is run down and easy for outsiders to get in. They are building a hotel next door which will continue to reduce the parking. In the time I lived there, we had 4 or 5 different managers, the last one is by far the worst. I don't recommend anyone to look here. read more

Worst Leasing Management team I have ever seen! I had visited on a Saturday to finalise and book a 1 bedroom apartment and I believe Jamey assisted us with the details. We had informed her that we would be completing the online application for booking with an early September as moving date. Every thing went well and we came back home hoping that we would be finalizing our future apartment for rent. Here comes the problem! We were not able to enter the move in date as discussed (their online system showed an error) so next day we called the leasing team. Here is where Rabecca and Kimberly come up with a different story. They tell us they cannot hold a unit more than 2 weeks (which we were never informed on the previous day by Jamey). Are these leasing staff well aware of their management rules or policies before confirming with the customers ? Leasing team seemed to be quite interested to promote their other property (56th north) instead of focusing on what future residents want or are looking for... This incident has brought down all our good impression we had initially about this Management. read more

We were looking forward to moving in. First thing I asked was whether they accepted bigger dogs. I have a greyhound. She's 60 pounds so that has kept us out of a few apartments. Was told the size was fine but they had breed restrictions. I said great she's a greyhound, that shouldn't be a problem. I was told no it should be fine. It never occurred to me to insist they check. For some reason, greyhounds are restricted at this apartment. I've never run into that before. Hoping that doesn't mean all that deposit and application fees are gone since it was literally the first thing I asked about when I got there. read more

I live here and think its great and have complaints. I also had washer issues but it was fixed in a timely manner. Clarissa is no longer the manager and that's too bad, she was very nice and took the property seriously. About the packages, yes in the past you did'nt get notified by the staff if they had accepted you package. However, I don't think that's a big deal since everything nowadays is tracked and you can easily find out if it was delivered. Anyway, the staff is now notifying the residents with a note on their door if a package is waiting for them. nbd I would recommend this place and I will most likely renew my lease read more

I spent a lot of time apartment searching in North Scottsdale. A lot!! It was such an overwhelming and frustrating experience, and nothing felt "right." Then I walked into Cascade. Immediately I got the feeling that this was it, and that was before even talking to anyone and fully seeing what they had to offer. The property itself is simply gorgeous. And you instantly know they take pride in every single detail. Gina gave me a thorough tour and answered every single question I had. The amenities are wonderful. Great pool setup, and the gym is perfect. Everything you need and more! Now that I'm living here, I know I made the right decision! The staff, property, amenities and apartment have exceeded my expectations thus far! And you can't beat the location. Give them a look. I think you'll be happy you did! read more

Bad experience. Apt not inspected for occupancy, A/C not working, dryer defective, large stain on floor due to water leak in wall which took three weeks to fix. Apt. reeked of vinyl flooring fumes and recent air test showed elevated level of formaldehyde. Facility manager double-booked my reservation for the Sky Lounge causing cancellation and ruining my daughter's birthday party and then closed access to the Lounge on New Year's eve without notice ruining my family's visit. This facility is poorly managed. It is adjacent to a field of dumped dirt causing dust problems. Future plans for construction in the surrounding lots make this location questionable for some people. read more

As a Property Manager myself, I was appalled to learn that Pillar Communities, namely The Cascades Apartments, was going to hold forth on lease terms after learning of the death of one of their tenants. This was a 23 year old girl of a very close friend of mine who died suddenly last week. The grief is overwhelming and I can only imagine how her mother feels. Lot of details to attend to, but never would I have imagined that there was a business who would treat a grieving family in this way. They offered to let her out of the lease for $2000, which is absurd. Had this been one my rentals, we actually would have donated money to help the family! And to top it off, Gina, the property manager was unpleasant and had attitude. Where is the compassion, where is the empathy for human suffering? I am sickened by this "policy" and hope that anyone who reads this review, runs for daylight if they had been considering renting from ANY Pillar community. I plan to post this on every possible social media outlet and another friend will be contacting channel 3 on your side. read more
