I have a recording of a consultation with a Doctor at Panorama Orthopedics where he tells my wife…read moreas plainly as he can (with 3 interns in the room) that nothing, absolutely nothing, could be done for my Wife's shoulders short of complete replacement. We sought a second opinion from Dr. Dorf. Now, Dr. Dorf is a straightforward guy - about as straightforward as they come - but he is also a professional and he didn't bash the previous doctor, but the look of complete puzzlement by this previous diagnosis was difficult for him to hide. He felt he could give immediate relief with a cortisone shot - which he administered himself. The previous doctor told us that even with his 35 years of experience he couldn't get a shot in the right place without ultrasound guidance. Dr. Dorf didn't have this issue. He was confident he could get it in the right place - and he did. Again, the puzzlement was difficult to hide - but no bashing. ;-) After reviewing the MRI provided by Panorama (the same MRI the previous doctor used for his diagnosis) he gave us the opinion that he could scope her shoulders and give her years of less pain and he did not feel that replacement was something that should even be on our radar. She had bone spurs, partially torn rotator cuffs, arthritis, scar tissue. Dr. Dorf "clobbered" the spurs, fixed the cuffs, took out the biceps tendon and cleaned up the rest. Why couldn't the other doctor do that? Perhaps skill has something to do with it. What a difference. Our original diagnosis was disturbing to say the least, but i guess when all you have is a nail, the answer is always a hammer. Dr. Dorf is on a whole different level. To put it bluntly, this guy knows his shit and isn't afraid to do the right thing for his patient - even if that requires some stern advice on recovery from time to time. Additionally his support staff is awesome. Annie in particular was so great. She called us promptly every time we had questions and didn't mess around when it came to making sure my wife was taken care of in the best way possible. My wife also had trapeziectomy on both of her thumbs. the result is 2 thumbs, way up! If you go to Dr. Dorf prepare yourself for great care, great advice and counseling, and most of all - great confidence that the right thing is being done by the right people. Hopefully Dr. Dorf lives forever because we plan to, and we will never use another orthopedic doctor. Thanks Doc. :-)

We went in and used the Urgent Care facility. However, when they billed us they did not use Urgent Care billing codes and our insurance refused to even consider paying anything. When I contacted them to potentially adjust the bill since we are now paying cash, they refused. They also refused to change the billing codes. I do not recommend this business because of their deceptive business practices and false advertising... by the way, there are several 1-star negative reviews about their billing department!

I was told there was a 97% recovery rate for my condition and that I'd be back to rock climbing and sports in a number of months. However, both the 1st and 2nd surgeries performed by Dr. Paul Abbot completely failed. My strength and mobility plummeted 80% after my treatment at this facility. I was in FAR better health prior to walking into VSON. They ruined my body. Another surgeon did his best to clean it up a couple years later. He gave me some improvement, but 13 years later I am in crippled agony. I've called a few times over the years to plead for some consideration to my outcomes, but they do not care for that. They are of course happy to see me again, restart the process, and give me another enormous bill, but there is no real sympathy or concern shown for how they ruined my athleticism and left me with chronic lifelong pain at the age of 22. Imagine paying tens of thousands of dollars for this outcome. It genuinely keeps me up at night. That and the pain. Maybe their new doctors are better, but don't be fooled when they say they care about you.

Everything except scalpel work is given to a PA. The problem is that their non-medical people are completely incompetent. Appointments get made, and they forget ot put in on the calendar. Telephone calls are promised but not done. Rx refill take a very long time and several followup calls. I get more responsible service from tradesmen -- where my health is not at stake.

This is a common result with anterior total hip replacement because the nerve runs in various ways right where the surgery is done. I stressed my concerns during pre-surgery consult. Matta lied to me with witnesses present telling me this will not occur with his surgery because he moves the incision away from the nerve. After I was diagnosed by several neurologists and surgeons Matta stated he does not look for the nerve when he does the surgery. Avoid him and get your hip replaced with the MINI POSTERIOR APPROACH. Do not fall for the hype of the anterior approach. It is dangerous to your nerves!!! Only a $$$ maker for the hip surgeons.

I have to say the surgery was amazing. I ditched the cane 4 days post op. My PT exercises he has given me gets easier. I do have a lot of muscle tightness & soreness. I way over did it with walking my dog on Friday. So now I have learned to go outside 4 times a day & walk a block & back to keep moving. His anterior approach is amazing. Bad billing system. I received an email stating that my balance was in arrears before I have…read morereceived the actual bill. I called was given a runaround that since part of the total bill includes a knee brace that I received in April, and since it is now July that made it in arrears, even though the knee brace has never shown up on any bill. Today is July 30th, the person at their billing department told me that the actual, detailed bill, including the cost of the brace, was mailed yesterday, July 29th, and that I can expect to receive it any day now, but it could still go to collections.
