After recovery, I had back pain 24 hours a day and couldn't even stand on my feet for more than 10 minutes. Other doctors kept saying that my bones had healed and I just had residual pain and to accept it. IN 2003, I felt I couldn't take the pain anymore and needed to find a solution. I was referred to Dr. Corenman and I made an appointment. Walking through the hallways of his clinic, I realized he treated very famous athletes and expected him to be arrogant (like some doctors) I was pleasantly surprised, he was not just a nice guy, he took the time to listen and he truly cared. I still remember what he said to me once he saw my MRI "My dear child, you must be in such pain." I started to cry, finally someone that understood my pain and cared enough to do something about it.I had L5S1 fusion surgery and after rehabilitation and physical therapy, I could stand and walk with very little pain. I called 2 more times and OCR would not even call me back. After sitting in a treatment room waiting for Rocky Trumper to never see him have to leave and go to work and no call back, no apology etc. Just a truly unfortunate thing as they used to be a good company. That's what too much growth and greed causes I guess. Good thing is now that I have a good relationship with CU Medicine in Boulder/Broomfield. Far more professional, timely and thorough. NO more OCR for me! ps still highly recommend Shawn Grey for shoulder surgery. My one good thing to come out of OCR many years ago.

It was my my first visit with Neurosurgery One today, after having 3 doctors recommend the doctors there - either office. The front desk staff was welcoming, and it was so nice to have a simple questionnaire instead of spending time giving all my information, history, medication, etc. and having the technician and PA ask me the same questions. Since the doctor, Joshua Beckman, MD, and Nick never rushed me at any time I was able to fully discuss my situation with them. I even felt comfortable asking questions that I thought might be "dumb". I feel it's always smart to listen to what is said and to check that you heard/interpreted what they said properly. It's so easy to forget what's said in an appointment without taking a few notes at times. After a few more tests, I'll be returning to discuss my options for further treatment. For those concerned about social distancing, the waiting area is fairly large and it was not difficult to find "my own breathing space", or I could have worn a mask. Restrooms were a short walk away. I'm looking forward to working with them in the future.

I have a recording of a consultation with a Doctor at Panorama Orthopedics where he tells my wife…read moreas plainly as he can (with 3 interns in the room) that nothing, absolutely nothing, could be done for my Wife's shoulders short of complete replacement. We sought a second opinion from Dr. Dorf. Now, Dr. Dorf is a straightforward guy - about as straightforward as they come - but he is also a professional and he didn't bash the previous doctor, but the look of complete puzzlement by this previous diagnosis was difficult for him to hide. He felt he could give immediate relief with a cortisone shot - which he administered himself. The previous doctor told us that even with his 35 years of experience he couldn't get a shot in the right place without ultrasound guidance. Dr. Dorf didn't have this issue. He was confident he could get it in the right place - and he did. Again, the puzzlement was difficult to hide - but no bashing. ;-) After reviewing the MRI provided by Panorama (the same MRI the previous doctor used for his diagnosis) he gave us the opinion that he could scope her shoulders and give her years of less pain and he did not feel that replacement was something that should even be on our radar. She had bone spurs, partially torn rotator cuffs, arthritis, scar tissue. Dr. Dorf "clobbered" the spurs, fixed the cuffs, took out the biceps tendon and cleaned up the rest. Why couldn't the other doctor do that? Perhaps skill has something to do with it. What a difference. Our original diagnosis was disturbing to say the least, but i guess when all you have is a nail, the answer is always a hammer. Dr. Dorf is on a whole different level. To put it bluntly, this guy knows his shit and isn't afraid to do the right thing for his patient - even if that requires some stern advice on recovery from time to time. Additionally his support staff is awesome. Annie in particular was so great. She called us promptly every time we had questions and didn't mess around when it came to making sure my wife was taken care of in the best way possible. My wife also had trapeziectomy on both of her thumbs. the result is 2 thumbs, way up! If you go to Dr. Dorf prepare yourself for great care, great advice and counseling, and most of all - great confidence that the right thing is being done by the right people. Hopefully Dr. Dorf lives forever because we plan to, and we will never use another orthopedic doctor. Thanks Doc. :-)
