This is truly a hidden gem in Jefferson. We were going to stay in a regular hotel when we found The Steamboat Inn on Yelp. It's really like coming home. We arrived and got our luggage and headed inside only to find just another guest who told us no one was there at the time and to just put our bags in our room that was on our reservation. There was water in our room frig and cookies on the counter. Settled in we walked down to Jefferson's historical shopping area and checked out the restaurants and such. We are already planning our next visit as we did have time to see everything and want a tour of Caddo Lake. read more

This B&B is a gem. The owners are such a lovely hardworking couple. When we arrived they had delicious, warm chocolate chip cookies that we couldn't stop eating. Great Kcup coffee selection for early risers! The rooms are very neat and clean. The grounds are immaculate. There are many Bed and Breakfasts in Jefferson, but this one is by far the best and coziest. We love walking to the small town from here. Alex and Lana were so accommodating and gave us great suggestions for dining and walking trails. We can't wait to go back. The streets are so perfect for long, safe walks. read more

Wow! This B&B is so clean and lovely. The breakfast (from scratch chocolate caramel pecan scones and a ham and spinach quiche) was out of this world amazing. The owners are super kind and accommodated our late night arrival. 100% would return! Also, the hand painted ornaments on the Christmas trees were absolutely stunning. read more

Wow, what a treat to stay at The Steamboat Inn! From start to finish it was perfect. Such a lovely welcome by the sweet owner Lana. We were visiting family in a neighboring city and heard fabulous things about the town of Jefferson and this Bed and Breakfast. The Inn is literally out of a picture book. We stayed in the Mardi Gras room which was brand new and super spacious for my husband and teen. The bathroom was large, uber clean and had an amazing shower and great water pressure. The towels and sheets smelled fresh and so good. Not typical hotel bleachy towels. The bed was very comfy. We had absolutely delicious breakfasts. One day it was Bananas Foster French toast. Yes, please! Donna, one of the cooks made this. Lovely wine and yum chocolate chip cookies were left out for the guests. We happened to be there for Halloween and that was a neat experience. Tons and tons of cute trick or treaters. My son helped hand out candy from the big porch with a swinging bench. The downtown of Jefferson is easy to walk to and plenty of offerings. Great coffee and food, shops, mercantile outpost stores. You can also rent golf carts to ride around. Lots of history in this town and plenty of good ghost stories. Ornate and unique rooms with luxurious bathrooms. Bountiful breakfast at 9 AM. In walking distance from bygone glories and antique treasures. Put this on your bucket list! We happened on an AMAZING Time and Measurement Museum. Not what any of us expected. The owner gave us a personal tour after allowing us to walk through the huge main room and adjacent smaller room of clocks, surveying equipment and his wife's salt and pepper collection. We visited this town last summer and enjoyed the long weekend so much! We booked the majestic room which comes with a mini patio that was so nice to chill at in the evenings! It's the cutest place with the cutest owners who make you their family! They are dog friendly and were so loving to our dog and were understanding! They offer refreshments through the stay like coffee, tea, water and cookies which. Is available always. Plus the beautiful spread in the morning that the wife cooks with so much love we get to sit with strangers who come from different walks in life and it was such a fun experience! read more

I recently went on vacation to Jefferson, TX and was blessed to stay at the Steamboat Inn for four nights. This was my first experience at a B&B and it was a remarkable experience. The hostess, Lana was an absolute pleasure to be around! She made our entire trip grand by being very accommodating and fulfilling all of our needs. The B&B was beautiful, had lot's of historic relics, and had literature about the wonderful town of Jefferson. The rooms were extremely clean and well kept. The air conditioning was always running and kept the whole place very cool during the heat. The breakfast was delicious and nutritious! If I could give them 10 stars I would. This is my very first time visiting Jefferson, Texas with my family. Thank God we stayed at the SteamBoat Inn! This is the cutest 'Bed and Breafast' ever! The new owner, Lana was so sweet and welcoming, even with all the other guests she had to meet and greet. She made me feel right at home with her hospitality. The breakfast was delicious. Also she told us all about the activities and tours around Jefferson! We ended up taking our kids to a petting zoo, historical museum in town, and a Caddo Lake tour. I learned more about Jefferson, Texas than I ever could reading about it in a book. We will be back at the Steamboat Inn next year and make sure we stay at "The Green Room", wow so lovely! This is our second time visiting Steamboat inn. Stunning bed and breakfast with amazing warm atmosphere, great attentive owners, and delicious breakfast, which was different each morning. Also, freshly baked cookies and wine in the afternoon that were so welcome to sit and relax on swing on the porch. The room we stayed in, Mardi Gras, has a separate entrance and a small separate room with a day bed, perfect for families (basically a suite). Comfortable bed and bedding. The place to relax, see interesting antiques, and beautiful decorations. Also, great location with short walk to their main street and historic attractions. Will definitely be back! read more

My wife and I really enjoyed relaxing at the Steamboat Inn for a couple of nights. Kristin, the owner, was so gracious and helpful and her breakfast was absolutely delicious. They allowed us to bring our little dachshund which was a plus! We had the Green Room which was so comfortable and tastefully furnished. The house is a very short walk from downtown...literally less than a minute. We also spent ample time just reading and drinking wine on the front porch. Such an ideal way to recharge and disconnect. We also checked out the new wine/beer lounge owned by the same folks, and we were there more than once. Good things happening in Jefferson! read more

We stayed here last weekend. It is a great place to stay with wonderful hosts. We enjoyed the decorating scheme of the inn as it reflected the 'port' of Jefferson at it's prime. The Irish/English breakfast was very well prepared and served. We had no problem contacting our host for our late arrival, we were met on arrival and given a quick tour of amenities. There was plenty of beverages and also, freshly baked cookies. We definitely will be back. read more

This is the first B&B I've stayed at, and my friend had stayed here before and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the quality is really dropped. We were coming in late , no one responded to phone or texts, so it was very stressful not knowing if it would be open, etc. The room was very faux antique, cheap. The bedding and towels like they came from a garage sale. The room didn't come with a set of towels, we were told to get our own faceclothes, etc. The only toiletries available were the smallest slivers of soap I have seen. The temperature was much too warm and humid. Breakfast items were either stone cold or burnt. No water was provided, I guess we were supposed to go get some ourselves? The setting was not very nice, plastic chargers, crumbs. There was a weirdness with the door lock, there was a number pad but we got no instructions on it. The outdoor areas had cheap plastic chairs. No shower. No turn down service. Pretty disappointing. read more

We stayed in the Green Room and really enjoyed it.This place has a very relaxed atmosphere and we enjoyed talking with our host Kristin and the other guests. The breakfast was very good each morning and there was coffee and drinks available at all times. We love going to Jefferson and will stay here again. read more
