Wow, what a treat to stay at The Steamboat Inn! From start to finish it was perfect. Such a lovely welcome by the sweet owner Lana. We were visiting family in a neighboring city and heard fabulous things about the town of Jefferson and this Bed and Breakfast. The Inn is literally out of a picture book. We stayed in the Mardi Gras room which was brand new and super spacious for my husband and teen. The bathroom was large, uber clean and had an amazing shower and great water pressure. The towels and sheets smelled fresh and so good. Not typical hotel bleachy towels. The bed was very comfy. We had absolutely delicious breakfasts. One day it was Bananas Foster French toast. Yes, please! Donna, one of the cooks made this. Lovely wine and yum chocolate chip cookies were left out for the guests. We happened to be there for Halloween and that was a neat experience. Tons and tons of cute trick or treaters. My son helped hand out candy from the big porch with a swinging bench. The downtown of Jefferson is easy to walk to and plenty of offerings. Great coffee and food, shops, mercantile outpost stores. You can also rent golf carts to ride around. Lots of history in this town and plenty of good ghost stories. We can't wait to come back to the Inn and check up on the little cat Cookie who guards the property. :) Thank you Lana for having us. Until next time!

Ornate and unique rooms with luxurious bathrooms. Bountiful breakfast at 9 AM. In walking distance from bygone glories and antique treasures. Put this on your bucket list! We happened on an AMAZING Time and Measurement Museum. Not what any of us expected. The owner gave us a personal tour after allowing us to walk through the huge main room and adjacent smaller room of clocks, surveying equipment and his wife's salt and pepper collection. Looking forward to the Safari experience tomorrow.

We visited this town last summer and enjoyed the long weekend so much! We booked the majestic room which comes with a mini patio that was so nice to chill at in the evenings! It's the cutest place with the cutest owners who make you their family! They are dog friendly and were so loving to our dog and were understanding! They offer refreshments through the stay like coffee, tea, water and cookies which. Is available always. Plus the beautiful spread in the morning that the wife cooks with so much love we get to sit with strangers who come from different walks in life and it was such a fun experience!

This is a charming little B &B in the heart of Jefferson, TX. When you walk in you feel the southern charm and it feels like home! We walked in and everyone that was staying was in the kitchen having dinner they had cooked! We were invited in and it was like Christmas with old friends! Mardi Gras was wet this this year, but the Steamboat Inn made this whole trip worth it!

I recently went on vacation to Jefferson, TX and was blessed to stay at the Steamboat Inn for four nights. This was my first experience at a B&B and it was a remarkable experience. The hostess, Lana was an absolute pleasure to be around! She made our entire trip grand by being very accommodating and fulfilling all of our needs. The B&B was beautiful, had lot's of historic relics, and had literature about the wonderful town of Jefferson. The rooms were extremely clean and well kept. The air conditioning was always running and kept the whole place very cool during the heat. The breakfast was delicious and nutritious! If I could give them 10 stars I would. I will definitely be returning to the area and will always try to stay at The Steamboat Inn. Thank you for making this a remarkable experience. God bless you!

A cute tourist table of goodies!

Firstly - love a bed and breakfast that can seamlessly pair historic decor with modern touches such as a fridge stocked with refreshments, coffee available at all times of the day, wine openers and glasses available in the dining room and thoughtful led candles illuminating the staircase and a supply of tea, electric kettle and a microwave if you just so happen to bring your own popcorn. The pictures alone definitely showcase this thoughtfully decorated home with justice however what photographs and videos do not show you is the attentiveness and memories you'll make during your stay here. Staying at Benefield House really does feel like visiting old friends you've known for years and their names are Tommy & Nicole. They take such pride in the food cooked every morning and really open their hearts to everyone whom enters their home. To have the ability to create coziness without being intrusive and freedom to make your stay as inclusive or secluded as you wish is a fine art that they have definitely honed in with perfection. They are both so knowledgeable about the town and the history, so don't miss out on picking their brains for all the little details that might otherwise have been overlooked. My husband and I enjoyed staying up late with another couple that was staying in the B&B, drinking wine and chatting in the living area. The breakfasts were delicious and robust. Booking was as easy as could be, the location was right in the heart of Jefferson close to restaurants and shops, only about a half an hour drive to our boat tour guide of Caddo Lake, parking was a breeze, check out was simple, and honestly staying here was the corner stone that made this trip a huge success.

We simply needed a break. So, I drove in from my crazy Dallas work life to spend a couple nights at…read moreThe Benefield House B&B. Treat yourself....to kind, welcoming owners.
