The rooms were immaculate and perfect for our needs. The breakfast... everyday is exquisite!! Quiche, omelettes, angel food cake French toast, fresh fruit,... that is just a start!!! Jessie is an amazing chef!! Lacy was always there with a smile and her charm and wit!!! Homemade Bloody Marys and Mimosas add to the wonderful ambience of this charming B &B!! THIS PLACE IS INSANELY AMAZING. Although we didn't stay the night, we just went for breakfast and are going back to the 4 course dinner tonight...will update later on the dinner. Breakfast was 2 courses, absolutely delicious, includes mimosas or blood Mary's, coffee, etc. Ask for the homemade hot sauces that the owner makes, the 2 hottest green chili and habanero were our favorites. All of them are delicious we purchased 2 to take home with us. :) We don't live in TX but 100% will be back to visit and stay here because this place is soooooo perfect! We made reservations to eat here on our way out of town and it was totally delish. We started with a mimosa which was so delicious and inviting looking with a strawberry on it. Then they brought us a peach pastry (similar to a turnover with whipped cream and berries in it. Oh my word, I could have died and gone to heaven. Then they brought a breakfast burrito with gorgeous hash browns. First of all, I'm not a potato girl and these THE. BEST. HASH. BROWNS. EVER!!!! I mean EVER! They had cheese and I don't know what all, but they are amazing. The breakfast burrito with eggs and sausage was also good, but oh my word, those hash browns. I made a solo birthday trip to this bed and breakfast and I am so glad I chose The Carriage House. I was greeted by Birdie who gave me a couple of barks as a greeting, and was fine the rest of the stay. I immediately felt like home due to BW and Jessie's hospitality. BW showed me to my room which was right across the street. Which really was my own little cottage, which I loved since I had my fur baby with me. I didn't have their dinner, but now I wish I did. Lord willing I will be back and will try it. The cottage was cozy and I fell asleep just fine as that is rare. I don't sleep well away from home. The next morning was the highlight of the trip, the breakfast. The quiche and the blueberry bread pudding was scrumptious and you can take that to the bank as I am not a bread pudding fan at all, but could eat hers over and over again. The owners were very pleasant and responded to our one special request. Thank you for that kindness. Everything was clean and tidy in our room and bathroom. The Chef was ill so the 4 course dinner was unfortunately not available. Breakfast was beautifully presented but just too carb heavy with minimal choices. Superficially everything is charming but if one looks deeper there are quite a few deferred maintenances and there are some areas that could benefit from a deep cleaning. My group of 4 girlfriends came to the carriage house for breakfast on a Saturday morning! Everything was absolutely superb from the wonderful hospitality of the owners and staff to the amazing food. After we finished breakfast we moseyed out to the wrap around porch where our group gathered around the porch swing and continued a wonderful morning together while sipping mimosas and chatting the morning away. Me and my wife went here for memorial weekend and had a really great time.Jesse her husband and staff were very friendly and accommodating.And the breakfast was simply delicious.I would definitely recommend this place if you happened to be in Jefferson.I would have probably given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the bed.I'm sorry but the bed just killed my back.I couldn't hardly get any sleep on that thing.I'm pretty sure that mattress is way past the 8 year mark.Other then that we had a blast.Will probably be back one of these days. read more

This place was just what I needed for a birthday weekend. The grounds keeper was very helpful. It was perfect for a quick relaxing recharge. The food was wonderful and so filling. Great room with super comfy beds. Owner was super nice allowing us to arrive after 9 PM since we were driving in from Belton. Breakfast was great!! We have a production crew here for a story on a local regenerative rancher (shadygroveranch.net if you want to tour a family-run operation in the heart of Americana, see how food makes it to our forks, buy their homemade, hand-crafted goods or even attend church), so while we're not here with a spouse, all of us agree that we "love" everything about Carriage House. Today's breakfast was ham & cheese quiche with a bacon hash, fresh fruit and a bread pudding with - hold the cherry - a super-sweet strawberry on top. Fantastic. We're working too early to too late to enjoy the evening fire pit, s'mores, wine and overall ambiance, but everyone's all smiles, and both B.W. and his wife are lovely folks with loads of knowledge about the area (restaurants, history, quirks, etc. - everything). The room I have, Diamond Bessie, is warm and welcoming, and dare I say romantic. Wish my wife was here, too, so we could enjoy the town together, but there'll be room for that in the future. This trip was unplanned. We decided the night before, Let's visit Jefferson, Tx. We had never been there before nor had we stayed at a B&B. Just randomly, we chose The Carriage House. What a luck of the draw. The owners warmly received us. They were so friendly and kind. The main location is beautifully decorated. Our room was at another location, but not far away. Our room was well-decorated and clean. We had our own bathroom but there was a common living room shared by other renters. Unfortunately because we reserved the room the night before, we were too late to join the gourmet dinner. Our loss. If breakfast is any indication of the quality of the dinner, we regretted missing it. Truly the home-cooked breakfast was amazing and high quality. What a great place to spend the 4th of July, the town goes all out. Jessie's food was as good as it gets, everything was fresh hot and delicious. Every day is different as well, so already wanting to go back. The smores out by the fire pit at nice were a great addition. We stayed in a cottage out back and it was the perfect size for us, everything was clean and we were able to have it at a temperature we liked. (the gas fireplace made me happy even if it was July). I can't say enough good things about out stay at the Carriage House! We were treated like family, the room was clean and comfortable and the food was absolutely fabulous! We stayed off site at the "Picasso" room, and although great..I would stay at a cottage on site if they weren't all booked. Our room had a shower, and I would have loved a claw foot tub for soaking (next time!) The main property is located close to everything..,you can easily walk to all the shops. The gallery (where we stayed) is still walking distance, but a bit far to take purchases back and go shop again. This was our first trip to Jefferson, and when we return, we will stay with Jessie and her husband again! They were so kind and down to earth and Jessie is a better cook than any 5 star restaurant we have ever visited. Thank you for a wonderful stay...we will be back! read more

A fabulous place to stay! The owner Jessi is the perfect host. She knows how to make you feel welcome from the moment you step through the front door. The home is warm and cozy and the guest rooms are quaint and charming. You will enjoy an amazing home cooked breakfast every morning. My husband and I spent hours on the garden patio cozied up to the wood burning fire pit which is kept burning morning and into the nite. We recently stayed at the carriage house in the Captain William Perry room which is in the main house. I would not recommend this room to anyone who likes to sleep or wants privacy. It is right next to the kitchen and where everyone comes in for breakfast. I felt like the entire 830 dining room experience was in my room. Not to mention at 7 AM when they started cooking the clanking woke us up. The room was nice and clean however the shower had absolutely no water pressure whatsoever. It was like taking a spit bath. I did finally get up and put earplugs in and that helped so the second night I sleep with earplugs and was able to sleep through the noise. Our second issue was that on our second date the hot water heater went out which was housed in our bathroom. I understand they could not have prevented or known this would happen, but we didn't not get a phone call and when we were arrived back at the main house our room was wide open with my purse just sitting there open to the public. They did not get our room ready until 10 PM. Again this could not of been prevented but there was no offering of any kind of compensation For the inconvenience. I will say Jesse and B W where great hosts and were super personable and super nice and the food was to die for but it was a little less than $291 experience than I expected because of the inconveniences. I would return but would stay in one of the detached cottages. read more

This was a very nice place. The furnishings are antique, but with modern comfort. We stayed in the Ruth Lester, that has a clawfoot tub in the bath. I'm kind of a bath snob and the tub, is a half size, but it filled fast, there was plenty of hot water and all the salts and bubbles a woman could dream of. We were caught in a snowstorm and stayed an extra night. The following morning with a world of white and 17 degrees outside, the hosts still had hot coffee and a fire outside our room. Lots of other reviews have spoken about the food. It deserves mention. The host is chef quality. Her breakfast was probably the best food I ate in the whole town. read more

This is a beautiful place. The courtyard fire is always burning. We are staying in the Diamond Bessie Room which is beautiful. The history of the area and the attractions are all very close to to bed and breakfast. The innkeepers/owners are very lovely people and we haven't been disappointed in our stay. I can't say enough how much fun my mom, sister, & I had here!!! The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated! The little details make this experience amazing!! We brought my 4 year old niece and the hostess, Jessie, went out of her way to make it special... She had a s'mores platter made for the bonfire that they kept going all night with fresh wood.
